This was super fun! I really liked how colorful the graphics were and the music was simple but not annoying :)
The way you select tiles and move them around is a really nice mechanic. Once I thought more about how tiles that are diagonally touching could be useful I managed to do a lot better! The melee attacked seemed a bit lacking in the current version though, I just used arrows to shoot the enemies mostly :P
The artstyle is so adorable, love it! Overall a great game, enjoyed playing it more than couple of times :D Good job!
This is super-clever. Highly innovative and it really blends the two genres very well. It's easy to see how this design would lead to some really diverse tactics. You might be sitting on a gold mine with this. Develop it into a full-blown mobile game and blow all of those other hum-drum match games out of the water!
Pretty cool game, definitely needs some getting use to. The idea and artstyle are great. Like herman pointed out, the bow is a bit too strong I believe.
First of all, thank you everyone for taking your time to play and give constructive feedback.
@toboggan, As we spoken, there game can't be full-screen for now, I had troubles handling the GUI and screen scaling. When the future updates are coming, this will be one of the first points. For now I will give my head a little break.
@Herman Chau You are right, the melee attack it's too expensive, I see now what I can do to costs to make them more compelling. Not a lot of time for testing, I added the costs one hour before the end of the jam.
@Darby Costello Thank you! I'm pretty happy with the result, and I had TONS of ideas during the process that I needed to write down because I knew the couldn't fit the ludum dare version. Once I get more time I probably work on some updates for Swap Swamp! I need first to know how much people like the game.
@Tay Unfortunately, the shop and weapons aren't perfectly balanced, thanks for playing!
That was really awesome. It took me a minute to realize that the way to refill water was to match water tiles. Very clever.
@GeraldFIngBurke It's great to hear that! I omitted on purpose that from the tutorial to try encouraging the players to experiment more with the mechanics! I'm glad you discovered it and liked it!
Just great, nothing else to add.
Very fun little game. Especially dig the art style
The game was great and I think the tutorial fully filled its purpose of teaching you how to play. I understood how to play, but was not prepared for the massive user interface with all its buttons and parameters which was an issue and rather overwhelming. It was mostly intuitive but upgrading stuff was very confusing because the game never told you what to pay with. My first thought was that you needed resources of the type shown under the digits, seemingly water but that didn't work. I realized once I had killed an enemy that you needed gold instead but that confusion shouldn't be necessary. I also never understood if there was a goal to the game, that is also something that the player (in my opinion) should be made aware of.
Really good. art is fun and the music is chill as fuck
@TheM I think you are completely right, the gui really needs some work, I haven't used a lot of them in the past. The example you give about the method of payment could be easily "resolved" with the coin besides, appearing and despairing at the same time. Life could (should) be as the life is marked for the enemies, and a compression and better structure to the shop and other data (as the level or xp, which are currently invisible for the player).
You are right, I never say what is the final goal in my games. Not on purpose, because I never know how to. I will think of that.
Thank you for your thoughts.
really neat game!
the dropbox link is broken (it expired) tag me if you fix it : )
@mrPenguin Fixed it! Thanks for the warnout!
Probably played this a bit longer than I should have. I think it's fantastic, also the art fit in really well!
Good graphics.
Good art and a fun concept, good job!
Very pleasant experience, soothing music and gameplay.
I loved the game and the gameplay was very interesting. I had difficulty picking up some tiles, but I had a lot of fun. Congratulations!
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.

Nice graphics! I included it in my Ludum Dare 41 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgRYnPldaL4
Just played your game for like an hour, will upload video shortly. I got arrows to a strength of 11. Bummer that there is no way to truly win.
very nice! Neat artstyle and music. The goal of the game seems a little ambiguous at the beginning, but after several tries and reading this thread I've finally figured it out)
For anyone, who is trying to identify it, I'll write it here: **!Spoiler alert!** kill monsters and gather coins for weapons upgrade, match water squares to get water.
The mechanics is interesting twist over standard matching games. I've experimented with match-3 mechanics in my game too, if you are interested, please have a look.
I streamed myself playing your game. You can watch the vod of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeVofreh9pA
