I love the graphics / music, but the game is haaaaaard ^^

The nightmare mode is a real Nightmare! Loved the look and feel of the game and was really fun playing :) all the best! Pls feel free to play and rate my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/split

I went all in but the dealer called my bluff. 5 stars.

This game looks great, and uses shaders and post processing really well to make a deep and flashy game world made up of mostly simple geometry.

The game is monstrously hard, also owing to the fact that's at a weird angle and the player's particles glow so brightly, they occlude your actual position so it's hard to determine whether you are safe or not.

But I still find it very fun to play. My favorites are the bombs/mines. So satisfying to watch; and the music works well to get you into that betting arena fighting mood. :)

Excellent entry, thank you for participating! :)

I love this game, and the concept of beting is awesome :D

xarras 2017-12-05 13:44

Good game mechanics, great music and nice neon graphics. Being able to change yourself the difficulty is great and fits the randomly generated map (Is it random?) since you can never feel safe enough. The bad thing that I've found is that sometimes I died and it wasn't clear enough how it happened. But apart from that, it's a great LD game, would replay!

I love the concept of going double-or-nothing to increase your score. The aesthetic is great and I dig the music. I agree with @thygrrr... it's hard as hell! But maybe that's because I like the challenge of increasing my bet to max. :)

i didn't like it. firstable it's too hard to understand what's going on. second: theme doesn't seem to be done perfectly since it's not about how much u have, but how much u bet. and finaly it has no jam mood to me. it's too sterile.

bathpirate 2017-12-05 16:42

@skitaless You are right but idea was that you bet is with you while you are playing. And you need to bring it to finish. But I have only 72 hours( And thankx to everybody for a good words!

love the betting concept - great w/ theme, didn't click how to strategize though. retro arcade tron feel was nice! well done

robert-newman 2017-12-07 11:01

loved playing this, loved the neon and the music. great retro/tron game

Good job on the graphics and sound, I really like the minimalistic and futuristic style. Props also for making this really hard (as far as I can tell from my experience at least). The only little problem I found was, that there was no way of quitting the game other than Alt+F4, but that is negligible :D

jk5000 2017-12-08 08:51

The idea is super interesting, but the game is super difficult to win, even on low bets. But the graphics and music are really good.

porcus-pie 2017-12-08 11:00

Great game. The core concept is simple, whilst not being simplistic. It's really well excecuted and polished really well. The Aesthetic that you were aiming for was acheived perfectly and the game was just a marvel to play, look at, and listen to. Whilst I wasn't very good at it, I still had a great time. The only improvement I could suggest would be to make some of the attacks a bit more obvious, or just change the way they are broadcasted, as I would occasionally be caught off guard due to perspective problems (for example)

Really nice idea you had here! Great execution as well! I like as well how you interact just by moving on the correct cubes, like no UI involved. Just one thing I noticed, is that the particle effects/bloom when you move in the starting zone is a bit too much. Great entry! :D
