I adore this game! I really liked the setting and character design! It took me a little while at the start before I figured out how to interact with object but once I did I had such a good time discovering what the game will bring to life next! Really inspired, great work!
The visuals of this game are something else! I really loved the atmosphere. I could have used some tips in the beginning to understand the mechanics of the game (I just wandered around wondering what to do).
To anyone else who is confused at the start: an indicator appears when you can interact with something. At that time you can press space. I assume that the black screen is the end of the game.
The art, audio, and atmosphere are all super impressive. It plays a bit like a short story. Unfortunately it seems that she doesn't have many happy dreams :(
Awesome game ! The atmosphere you managed to set is impressive. Like some people, I was a little bit lost at the beginning of the game and walked around the room for a bit before knowing what to do. As someone who reads a lot your game really struck a chord. Well done !
Great game! Got really hooked up on the atmosphere, the music and visuals work perfectly. And if that's not enough, the process turns out to be a considerably refreshing experience. In the end, I felt like lacking something, but in every other way enjoyed the game a lot!
Absolutely astonishing experience! I often ask myself what is a horror without jumpscares, I think I know now. Every time that closet opened it was an adventure for me and a total surprise that never gets old (well, at least until the end of the game). I love it, great job!
Accidental double post.
Impressive job for a game jam ! The art direction is just right !
Big story behind, Lovecraftian chills. Good touch, I believe, would be to add the books' titles, not just the summaries of what she grasped. And through those titles tell more about her story, her disease. Also, things appearing not just from the wardrobe, should be thriller-fun and creepy. Overall gasping idea, great graphics and sound design.
Great game. I really like the atmosphere and the graphics. But I don't understand too much what I have to do. so... What I have to do? I'm walking and walking into the room to find out... :/
The graphics are amazing excellent work! But i think that the character should interact more with the environment apart from that nice job :)
Great atmosphere! I wish books could be read in any order, because finding the intended order is PITA
Amazing art for this one, the interactive storytelling is great, but I think it's just so vague to the point where it's the story just feels non-existent. However it does what it's supposed to do so good work overall.
Theme wise, I didn't see it as it getting worse as the more she reads instead things were actually kinda pretty which actually made things better lol. I like where this was going though
Awesome game. Very qualitative graphics and audio.
I loved this one, actually one of the best entries this time. The mood and narrative set here is perfect, along with storytelling.
It was somewhat slow-pacing, but the story was well set. I also loved the character and movement - impressive work for 72 hours jam.
Amazing graphics and ambiance.
The gameplay is simplistic, but most of the work was done in the animations, so that's understandable.
awesome game, I really like the art style but a specially the sounds in particular while the camera is zooming in on the girl, very creepy, also the weird movement of the room itself! great! only the start was a bit strange because I didn't knew what to do and the movement felt a bit mushy.
One of my favorite LD40s- great art, animations, and interesting story about the imagination. The character felt lifelike, though looked like she was in a windy environment (which added to the eerie mood). I wished the camera view had been closer to better view the detailed art, and not be swaying (slight motion sickness there). I'd love to see this game developed further! Overall, impressive and inspiring.
The amount of work is super impressive, were you alone to do it all ? I'll join what's been said above, it could have been a little closer to apreciate the details more. Also had to lower the resolution because the text was too small (on a TV so I was quite far!) Congrats on creating a great mood.
Very cool narrative exploration. As has already been said, the animations and graphics are top notch. The MC in particular is really well done, her appearance serving the distraught vibe this game gives off.
I love how the camera continues to zoom in on her past the story beat, suggesting the worst but never quite getting there.
I don't really want to forget.
@huitre, yes - one (61 hours)
spooky
Really atmospheric game. Sound design and overall grim tones of the story reminds me of "The Path". The only problem i have with this game is the lack of cohesive story about our main character. Who she is? What kind of illness she has? But maybe i just don't get it, and all of the little tales she was reading were telling me some sort of a story about our heroine and the world she lives in.
So many characters and animations! Each book is very atmospheric.
Sound design! I never have time for him. You did it excellently! Here, it creates half the mood in the game.
All together, this creates a magnificent and polished game.
P.S. Add help for controls. I understood that I need to press the space after reading the comments.
