Fun and Challenging. Liked it!
This reminds me of those mega man levels with the missing blocks. Nice!
I found it difficult to figure out what i was doing and why i kept getting 0 points but i got it after a few tries. Lots of strategy in balancing the bar somewhere in the middle. Nice job on doing it in 8 hours too!
While simple, the idea is quite smart ! Also, +1 for VanillaJS :)
I enjoyed it! The only problem is sometimes the numbers would overlap each other.
Didn't realize that letting the blocks sit around so you got more points was a thing until reading the comments. Some sound/feedback while playing would have been nice.
It took me a while to understand how the scoring system went. A fun time waster :)
It's a nice concept. With my 8000 dpi mouse it was really hard mode.
The balancing element of clicking not too early was a nice surprise!
Oh, dang! Went too greedy to let the boxes grow, while doing so totally forgot meter would become impossible to bring it down back. I was this near to score 100. Quite a nice game of balancing.
Interesting concept!

awesome concept! Good work!
Thank you all for the positive feedback! This is my first Ludum Dare, and my first game that was more widely published. I really appreciate that so many people like it.
Took me several tries to understand how the scoring worked. Even reading your LD description didn't overly help me figure it out :/ Once I understood, the game was actually quite enjoyable, but, until then, it was frustrating. Some sort of tutorial or clearer instructions would have helped. Also, not sure if it's just my browser, but, the game was running rather choppy. None the less, very good effort for 8 hours of development!
interesting concept. Nice work
Thanks @fussenkuh I have updated the description. I will add these instructions to the start page of the game if that makes it more clear.
Not quite sure what you're doing here but it ran at about 1.4 fps on chrome and firefox for mac.
Nice work! The concept was pretty good, but the graphics could've used a little more work.
I have an issue with the game balance. Due to its nature, it inevitably only becomes challenging when the player's react time reaches the speed of new blocks appearing. For me it was before 130 points. Therefore, everything before it is kind of boring, when I have to cool it down, without clicking all of the boxes, and after that it's a practically inevitable lose situation. I'd say that it would make more sense to add a little bit of variety to the speed - for example, it's always generally increasing, yet sometimes it falls down in a predictable manner, so that the player can get greedy and risk it all. And some sound would be great too.
Thanks @danman113 @fussenkuh. I fixed the frame rate.
Interesting puzzle game to say the least. I think this game's strongest suit is its mechanic. It's simple but can be addicting if executed correctly. I quite enjoyed the challenge in the post 100 points stages and it became pretty interesting at that point.
However I think that this game struggles severly when it comes to pacing. After a few minutes of trying to understand the game I quickly realised how slow the game was, it was way too easy, this would go on for the next few minutes or so. However when I reached 100 (which is where I thought of just quitting) the game picked up in incredible speeds and it basically became a reflex test. Would be much better if the speed picked up more gradually.
The graphics are simple enough for what the game is but a nice music loop would have been nice. Otherwise a good first puzzle game for the compo. Good Job :)
It took me about 4 games to understand what was going on (at first when the game ended with 4 points, I thought that I had lost). The mecanism is clever, and fits perfectly the theme. Also, those basic graphics with growing plain circles touch a sweet spot in me...
Thanks @xacur @zinkler @call-me-nutty - good points about the pacing. The bugfixed version needed some fine tuning which I just did. Hope that helped a bit. @zinkler - I like the idea to have varying speeds. Will consider this for a possible post-LD version. @jason-kennedy @call-me-nutty - The post-LD version would have music / sfx as well.
