I like it, aesthetically pleasing, nice songs, although I __think__ it's a little off beat (can someone double check?)

@papiertig0r At times I think if your computer is a bit busy it can desync, but if thats not the case thanks for letting me know! 😊
I had fun playing this, nice job! Im not too good at rhythm games but i still had fun and i enjoyed the songs
Good rythm game with pretty graphics and excellent musics ! However, you should punish the player if he only smash without interruption the keyboard because you can win easily doing that. I think also that it could be encouraging to show the score during the game and not only at the end.
@edmond00 Yeah, I did notice the :smash and hope" tactic during play testing, however I was so rushed I had focus on other things.
Felt on beat to me, but then I'm no drummer.
I got wrecked by this game, mostly. My top score was 2800 after a handful of tries on song #1. I was getting the third track going for a while and the game offered me the fourth, and my brain was like sure I guess, and it all went horribly wrong from there.
Thank goodness this game backs off when I start screwing up badly! That was so important to not being totally brainfrozen by it. I maybe would have slightly decreased the break after I dropped back down to two. Like once I had started working on the third, and then lost it, I did want it to back off and let me reset, but not to hang out there for quite so long.
This was really nicely put together. It didn't spellbind me in the amazing way that Hopper did before, but that's too much to ask, and Click's songs were fun, the dynamic challenge was cleverly designed, and the graphics were clear, effective, and nice looking. Great job!
@pkenney Thank you for your feedback! I must admit I wasn't as proud of this as I was for hopper. I feel I went too ambitious rather than simply polishing a core concept. Turns out figuring out timing is much harder than I expected, and I expected something hard... I probably won't make a follow up to this game, just continue working on Hopper for now.
I didn't think about rythm game for this theme, what a shame, it works well !
That's an extremely good game for a jam! You got me here really quick and really deep. Maybe I just have a spot soft for such games after Guitar Hero, but this is the first game at LD40 I really enjoyed playing and had to turn it off to stop playing. There are definitely some flaws, but boy I'm sure you're aware of every single one of them, and the time was your only enemy. Keep it up!
@Zinlker Thank you so much for those compliments, that really does mean a lot to me. Music games are close to my heart as well and it was an experience to actually try and make one.
@Eralies I must admit, Ive been wanting to try and make a music game for a while so I kinda made the theme fit the game, rather than the game fit the theme... but thank you nonetheless!
Not bad, I like seeing a rhythm game in the compo! :) There are some things I'm missing, though: You should explain, what keys are used to play (That got me confused for a bit :D). Then I also think that some parts are off beat. And (I am not sure about this) I think that I could just always press the buttons to get a decent score, is that right? One last thing, but it's understandable, that that is missing: Show me the score while I'm playing to motivate me! :)
@triastase Yeah, I would agree with you there on many things. I pointed out what keys are on the intro screen but I must admit it wasn't very obvious. I did attach a Read Me file which explained instructions and similar however. As I also said before sometimes if the game lags (due to a too busy computer or similar) then it gets off beat, which is really annoying but I have no idea how to fix it. Game-maker isn't the best program for music games
I like it! I didn't feel it off beat, but I don't have a lot of experience with rhythm games, so I can be wrong.
I missed the score while I was playing. Also, sometimes I felt that the keys were a bit random in what notes they were playing. What I mean with this is that, for examples, the two keys on the left could focus on percussion, and the two on the right could focus on the melody. What I feel is that currently, all the keys have to do with percussion, and for example, sometimes you needed to press two of them for a single drum hit just because.
Other than that, I think this is a cool entry!
@rasco Thanks for the feedback! I tried making the blue one correspond to the melody in some songs, but just due to the nature of the game it didn't turn out well. If I had more time I would have fine tuned it more.
scrolling the game is not fluid enough for this type of games
Fun game but I dislike the controls. I would prefer to have them next to each other, like ASDF instead.
@darkgrisen, Thanks for the feedback. I made them DFJK as I felt that when right next to each other it feels really cramped and hurts your wrist, so I opted for a more relaxed layout. Perhaps what would have been better would be to have made it customisable
First off, I love the concept, adding more rows as you get higher points. In mind that you were crunched for time, some things that would be useful would be some indication of how on beat I am ("Great", "OK",etc..), also a score display on screen telling me my multiplier would be cool. Third song is my favorite, first too felt samey, considering after only playing the first one I still wasn't good enough to get more than 2 lanes. Overall, well done!

Yeeee rhythm games low key my favorite game genre. The whole implementation feels pretty fine to me---honestly it would have been impressive for you to build the whole engine *and* compose all three songs in two days, much less one IMO.
Real talk though; because the game's called "Click" my first go I tried clicking the row markers as the notes came across, thinking that the unhappy tone that played along was the "you did it!" noise lol. Always read the README!
@jjjjason Thank you for the positive comment! I must agree, rhythm games are lowkey one of my fav genres, Deemo is still on of my favourite games. I'm not sure it counts as building an engine when I'm using gamemaker, but thank you anyway. Also you got so close to the highest score possible

Very good one! I love rhythm games. Nice music too, impressive for one day. Keep up the good work!
Nice rhytm game although everything is very similar, so it's boring after a while of playing the same notes. I would add a lot of variety. However, impressive game for 1 day of work.
Hey this was fun!! I really enjoy these kinds of games. The only thing is I wish in the Cloudy Day and Tropical Vibe levels, the buttons changed up a little bit more. I got a bit sick of just pressing the same two buttons in the same beat for 80% of the song. Otherwise though, fantastic submission!!
Really cool game and concept !
I really like the fact that the game automatically change the difficulty in the game, with the first tracks easy, and the third and fourth harder to combine.
The music is also really nice, especially if made in one day ^^
It would really be cool to have a full-fledged post-ludum dare version :D
@dodormeur I agree a full fledged one would be cool, but I already am working on another game that's a pretty long-term project so sadly I think it's off the cards. I'm just one person after all. But thanks for the positive words
The gameplay was nothing special, but the music was really great.
Good Game with great sounds! But here are some things you can can improve:
- It's possible to spam all buttons, because there is no punishment for pressing a button at the wrong time
- Making the movements of the blocks more smooth, (For Example: you can increase the y value of the blocks by how many pixel it should move per second divided by 30 in the step event instead of an alarm)
- to prevent the game getting offbeat you can use delta_time
- you can change the icon of the game in the global game settings
I can highly recommend you to take a look at the Game maker language as scripts are more powerful than the drag and drop mechanics.
Nevertheless this game was lot fun to play. Good Work!
@doragongames I actually have been using GML for many years now, but I must admit some more niche functions I am unaware of as of yet. And I did also change the icon but for some reason it didnt register, it worked in my last game so I am a bit confused as to thay, but I was running out of time to troubleshoot
Well, I was going to comment about how impossible the game is to play and that you could make it easier by increasing the length of time between each color's beat when there is more than 2 colors scrolling by.
But having seen some other's screenshots of insanely high scores, I have to conclude that that would not be a fair criticism. I guess I just suck at these sorts of games.
I liked the visuals a lot, but I didn't get the sense that the key presses were on beat (could be I suck at finding the beat).
Include instructions on the menu screen! Or at least in the description of your game on this page!
Impressive with how much you were able to do in the one day. The controls worked well once I realised what they were after reading the text file. And then I also noticed that it actually also tells you in the game but I was just missing it so my mistake. Liked the rhythmic pattern and thought the music was nicely done and built up at a good pace. I suck at music so always impressed with people who can create appealing music in a short time. The art also worked well in allowing the focus to be on the gameplay and music.
