Good polish on the art and sound. Core mechanics are fun, but could use some more polish and tuning. The snowball effect in your favor makes things pretty trivial pretty fast. Disappointed I couldn't sacrifice the old man :(
I had a lot of fun playing this! Your character animations are awesome, I especially love the flailing legs when you pick up an animal. The only thing that I didn’t see in your game was an end goal, there seemed to be no reason to increase the number of sheep or keep the wolves away. I did like that you punished me when I started throwing everything, including my family, onto the altar. Lots of fun.
Brilliant little game and quite hard especially in the begining like the tunes to! Maybe it could have been made more clear what happend when you sacrificed something
I couldn't bring myself to sacrifice any animals on the altar.. they're just too darn cute!
Very nice art. I especially liked the swinging animation.
I'm pretty much aligned with the previous commenters. The graphics and the core mechanics are nice, although there is some room for fine-tuning. Solid work throughout. :)
This game is amazing! I'm super impressed with how much you managed to achieve in just 48 hours. The music fits the mood perfectly, and the art is super cute. Fun gameplay to boot!
Cool and fun game! I love the music :P
@gurkan96 Hmm, I think I know what's going on
Doublechecked my source code, there was this hint given by the old man "Gods appreciate sacrifices of animals in good health!". Basically, sacrificing sheep won't do anything unless it was at 100% health.
I should probably be more clear on that
Good art, and a fun core mechanic. It seems that the firing needs some tunning, a bit more difficulty. But a simple and good game overall.
why i can't throw things into water
btw i ran out of sheeps and nothing happens
Fun and dynamic game, nice job
Fun as fuck. The God is kinda douchy though, I'm giving him a sheep every 10 seconds and he be like, "hello mate, enjoy your 25% speed boost"
And you should let people sacrifice the priest, that too
Really nice sprite animations!
Sometimes a wolf pushes a sheep onto the altar for sacrifice on its own.
The sling sort of aims at a spot above the cursor instead of directly at the cursor, so its a minor hindrance.
Other than that, slick game, no other bugs I can find.
Awesome!
I enjoyed both sprite animation and music, and the game is really fun!
10/10 I guess :)
This is exactly what I imagined a shepherd's everyday life to look like.
After initial confusion... this was surprisingly addictive and super fun!
Made to the end of level 3, really liked the gradual shift in gameplay from just shooting around you to strategically placing your power stones.
What could be improved, is that right now it is very unclear how to advance to the next level. I figured it out eventually, but there really should be *some* hint on how to trigger level progression. Or is there and I just missed it?
Your pixel animation ist just on fleak - that 'picked up animal' animation ist just the cutest.
Overall: Great Entry! Beautiful animation and good gameplay with some negligable rough edges.
Nice game, movement felt smooth, art was very nice.
The minimap was a good idea, but the colors of the minimap i struggled to see.
Everything about this is so perfect. Nicely done
That was fun! :) I'm so jealous of the art, awesome animations.
I threw the old man on the altair.. I died.. I love this game, despite that it lack a real goal.
Fun time waster. Looks great and plays well. Grabbing objects is a little off though (sometimes doesn't grab when I expect it to). Maybe an increase in grabbing range would be better, but it's fine already. I think having long-term goals would be make the game even better (like in a cookie-clicker-genre kind of way) !
The pixel art was great!I especially like the running animation when the character wave his arms. In the first round I sacrificed the black sheep like in no time. I felt good about me self and throw the priest to the altar.
The music is great and the pixel art is really amazing! I especially like the pickuped wolfs animation haha
I gameovered because I sacrificed the shepard dude lol.
After playing a bit more I noticed that on the minimap I can't distinguish me and the sheeps which made it hard for me to find the wolfs. I got to level 3 and got all sheeps but I wasn't able to find the level up sheep and then the other sheeps got eaten
Had lots of fun! :D
Cool art, everything looks crisp and clean. Mechanic is fun also. There are multiple sheep and wolves getting killed at all times. Got used to all the death around me quick. :D
Hi, nice game and congratulations ! Simple mechanics that still offered a decent amount of challenge. We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.
Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description. (you can already find several games from the jam there)
LOL.
Best game I tried this day, I had so much fun I laughed my ass off when I threw the old guy into the altar.
Definetly worth playing, gamefeel is nice, I liked it a lot.
Absolutely wonderful game, definitely one of my favorites. The music is great, and art is beautiful. The game had a surprising amount of depth and was extremely fun to play. I do think the game did become a bit easy, and I didn't struggle much on level 2 or 3, but I honestly don't think that mattered, as I had a good time regardless. The only suggestions I would give are to maybe move the black text box up a bit so that it didn't block the counter since last sacrifice and to have the sheep be able to point towards the right (though I didn't notice this until it was the end of the game).
