Art looks great, but couldn't get the game to load in the browser. Maybe the assets are too big?

nitroix 2016-08-29 13:18

Dont know why, but it gives an error about 20% of the time you launch it

c4m 2016-08-29 15:42

Looks nice, though you could have used textures for many things instead of meshes (for performance)

move127 2016-08-29 20:10

Wow, we had similar ideas, though your game looks a lot better. I also suffered from problems with the game being too hard to figure out.

nitroix 2016-08-29 20:36

@Move127 haha, yours is great too, but it would be supreme if you had wouldn't used the default GUI from unity, and also add some (visual)noise to the planet, and the bottom bar, still digg your style bruh

frozencow 2016-08-29 21:10

I got the elephant, but couldn't quite figure out what to do for the antilope. I guess the arrows do not make sense yet. I figured they should be chosen in the order that is shown, but with the glyphs replaced like the elephant room says. A bit like a safe, but had no indication whether I was doing that right. I guess it was the wrong way to go about things.

Still though had a good time trying different things to progress. Also tried to walk on the rooftops, but couldn't make it :P

nitroix 2016-08-29 21:16

@FrozenCow same thing happend to alot of my friends. To prove that the game could be solved i said to all my friends that i will buy the first person who solves it subway... Their still trying XD

fidrik 2016-08-29 23:03

interesting idea, I got completely lost though haha.

justinooncx 2016-08-29 23:27

Got pretty far into the game, only failed to open the last 2 doors, deer and man with pig. I tried to force the final doors open, but dial no. 8 made a duplicate of itself and bugged out. Interesting game, would play for 3 hours again.

draakhex 2016-08-29 23:33

The framerate was kinda bad for me, unfortunately =/.
The idea is nice but some instructions would have been nice, also a way to edit the volume.

Day 142... I'm not willing to say how many days I've been here.

...Has he been there for 142 days?

Neat concepts, very much got a FEZ-like vibe going on. Unfortunately had some pretty bad frame hitching which made it hard to move around and play.

Really impressive music and artwork to do from scratch in only 48 hours too! Great job.

pusty 2016-08-30 03:13

wtf. I wanted to test this game because it looked interesting and not to play it for 2 hours straight... haha was fun to play but I wasn't able to solve the laying thing and the man with the pig nor was I able to find out what these arrows mean lol

Really cool idea, maybe a bit too complicated but I liked the challange (but after 30min of no real gain I surrendered). I like how you used the theme (and the name and fact idea to let the player figure it out). The music must have been good as well as it didn't annoy me after 2h haha. Most likely the most time I spent on a entry :D

pusty 2016-08-30 05:02

After playing a bit more I was finally able to open the last 2 doors! Not sure what these monkeys are doing here tho' :D

I would have wished for a ending for getting everything done (or did I miss something?)

nitroix 2016-08-30 06:00

@Pusty there is more, look inside the coridors in the walls

Hi, nice game and congratulations ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.

nitroix 2016-08-30 07:01

@steph88 http://www.indiexpo.net/en/games/there-is-no-instructions Who are 'we'?

rockhoppergames 2016-08-30 14:59

I'm in the same boat as justinooncx, got up to the last two doors and couldn't solve them. I think the problem was with the crossbow/w hieroglyph, since the solution I'd figured out (and which had worked in all the other cases) didn't actually solve its own room.

Apart from the puzzle issues, I had performance issues whenever I interacted with the trees. cfm gives one solution there, but my solution (from a unity noob, so take with a grain of salt) would be using a single capsule collider for the tree trunk, and leave the leaves uncollidable. I'm just guessing you were using mesh colliders there?

Great job with the music, by the way!

kai20 2016-08-30 15:06

tried to make the house witht the bird to have the same sybols as the flag on the temple didn“t worked. would be intressting sorry

nitroix 2016-08-30 15:35

@RockhopperGames I tought the same (with the trees), but i did the trees last, and therefor didnt sacrifice the time

chrisdugne 2016-08-30 20:41

well, impressive compo nitroix !
Really like the idea even if it's not the kind of game I like to spend time with, but I know people who do, I'll share the link.

thegunmaster 2016-09-01 21:08

Man, this looks great!
I thought I understood what the idea was, but apperently not, nothing happened :(
I would love to know how to actually finish this though, will you release a solution video eventually?

nitroix 2016-09-02 16:13

dssiege11 2016-09-06 08:21

Cool game! wasn't able to open any doors though apart from the elephant one ^^'

lonespelunker 2016-09-07 02:23

This game looks fun - reminds me of Myst and other environment escape games of its ilk - but I had real trouble controlling the camera. It wasn't capturing the mouse, so I could only turn so far left or right, and the motion was quite jerky. I didn't feel like I could be very precise with the controls, and the motion felt inconsistent.

The game does seem very inviting and I did want to explore this little world. The symbology and the mystery were inviting, and I would have liked to have been able to delve deeper into it. You clearly put a lot of work into the environment and the puzzles, and it looks like it would be a fun game to play if I could navigate it.
