Moar maps pls! I like this one!
:D Thanks for the comment!
I really want to work on this more. More maps and maybe more content to multiplayer!
Nice juice.. the soul collect text lerp and screen shake is working nicely. Polished art and nice music/sfx too.
I like how landing on hordes of them from above works more efficiently than dashing into them from the side. That's pretty fun.
I was hoping for win or lose conditions, but finally figured out I had infinite life. I guess that's "being a monster is an extremely fun and button mashingly exhausting task", but kind of doesn't work for me as a player.
I like your art style
@gv1351 Thanks :3
Really fun!
Especially satisfying stomping on people hehe.
Great art and music overall :D
The art was nice and I enjoyed the music. I wasn't a fan of the gameplay, there wasn't a clearly defined win or lose condition, I could just stand there forever and nothing happens, which was a shame for me.
I can see the appeal for players that love to be powerful and unkillable though.
I like it, it just seemed like as long as I kept attacking stuff I could never die.
Also, if anyone's having trouble with the big guys, just jump at the flying things on their shoulders until you kill them, then jump at the big guy and keep pushing towards them - you'll stay off the ground and just keep attacking.
fun gameplay, love the music!
@Brainfreezeman @ChrisFagan @Slashee the cow @parsia, thanks for the comments!
@Slashee the Cow, Well done for finding out how to defeat the big guy! :D
I was hoping someone would comment and explain how to beat it.
I love that music ^^ ...loading time was a bit too long for my liking but then again, I have a shitty connetion. Great work !
There is something strangely satisfying with hoarding them all in the corner and sitting on their heads :)
@SKT Thanks hope you enjoyed it! Sorry about the long loading times. It could be because of the file size as well, there's quite a few assets with the build.
@Chris Olsen, finally, someone who shares the same interest as me. Sitting on heads.
Very fun! Although I had the idea that I could not die..? Got up to 1000ish souls and the game lagged down. (physics stack?)
@Joror, Damn 1000 souls? More than I ever got [I didn't have much time to play it]
Yep could be the physics stack slowing everything down... I literally didn't have enough time to optimise it much ):, thinking back I should have destroyed the arrows after a time frame and maybe set a limit to the number of possible enemies spawned at a time.
I liked this game, I didn't find the style of gameplay hugely innovative but it was good, the gameplay was fun especially when it got intense when those big guys came in, but was a little repetitive when you first start playing. It suited the theme perfectly and the art style was really nice. The music was really good and helped set an excellent mood (along with the lighting) I think this game was nice overall but could really do with some improvements in gameplay but that's just my opinion, besides good job all the same.
Apologies for the double post, but if you have time check out the timelapse of me making Demon Dash! https://youtu.be/zJzi_YRE_iY
i like the soundtrack!
Haha :D That was really fun! Like the pixel art and the sounds are great for an arcade game like this.
@iossif @Obvious_San Thanks for the comments! Glad you like the art, took me a while to get it satisfactory ):
Make sure you guys check out the timelapse I made!
Fun and fast action! Love all picking up tons of souls all at once.
Would like to see more!
@Tweedle, Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. What would you like to see more of? More maps? New mode? :D
Also forgot to mention that the link to the timelapse video is in the description!
Really polished and satisfying. Good job for the art, sound design and camera shaking. That makes a fun and enjoyable mood :-)
It reminds me of Risk of Rain a little for the visuals and the hordes of enemies.
I couldn't try the multiplayer mode.
Great job overall! I'd like more maps now please ;-)
@Pantoufle Thanks for the comment! Apologies about the multiplayer mode, I realise it's a little buggy. Literally learn't and implemented Unity 5 Networking in the last day.
More maps?? Okay :D, although you'll have to wait until after the judging ends. I don't think I can edit the game anymore.
Enjoyed this!
@grywhittl Thanks!
Great game! Are WASD the only keys to play? Because I collected 2k souls that way =)
It feels nice to dash around and to stomp on those little knights.
Keep up the good work!
@Team Klappermann Yep, WASD are the only keys to play, You can double tap A/D to dash in those directions as well. Glad you enjoyed the game/demo!
really satisfying to jump on big groups and eat them all at once
Is there lose or win condition? If yes, need to be said, if no, need to be created.
Outside of it, we fit in easily, the artwork is cool, the moves are evident... then yes, you can create new map.
The only default is the freezing of the web version.
I've the same concept of soul collect, and the same problem of freezing for web version, due to the excessive number of actors and shooting... Then felicitation, you've find the best concept of this ludum dare ;)
@dmcfarline :D Hope you enjoyed it! You managed to find the idea behind the game, just endlessly killing the solidiers. There's no winner or loser.
@n8b Thanks for the feedback! I noticed the game does freeze when too many entities have been spawned, there's no real optimisation for that at the moment. Although one could be to limit or destroy the entities after a certain time frame.
