I'm sure there would be a way to do some fantastic plays, air jump double bird shots, but... it was so damn difficult to control XDI managed to shot the bird in the tuto, but couldn't get a single one of them in the first level. Even catching the fish is so hard, the easiest way is by far to stop on their trajectory and wait for them to crash on us.
It was nice however to jump in the boats or kill the fisherman.
The music is... well, not very entertaining, though :/
It's funny, quirky, though it's a pain to get into the water if you are on the ground (well I would expect to be difficult if I was a fish, but as play mechanics would make it easier). Love the use of the sound recorder. It is fun, yet the controls are bit gimmicky especially jumping off the water to scare the fish boat (by the way they don't faze a bit when they see me)
The resolution your recommended wasn't a choice, the closes is 1024x768 but the top right text still stuck out of the window. I think the best part of the gameplay was being a little fish that jumps out of the water eating these huge people d: I got game over and I wasn't sure why and also it said press "R" to restart but that didn't work.
oh @Ferret. Thats probably a glitch. That text meant to be the placeholder text i wrote at beginning. Sorry about that scaling problems. You must fill the bar on top left corner before timer runs out. I guess timer was not visible for you because of scaling.
Also, everyone sorry for sloppy controls. Tried use physic engine on rotations and it made turns too slow. But idk levels are meant to be easy(i think on both of them you can just kill fishes and fill the bar without action) so you can just get in freeplay and have fun. I should do a bugfix update in some time after you fellow LD'ers find some more bugs B)
And, about music. I am proud of mute button lol B). I know nothing about music. Just putting random notes on Ceoil. And it will be fun having 1 points on audio!
I really liked the physics! If I were you, I would made it always auto sprint. :D
BTW, I've fixed the collisions in my game, so you have nothing to complain about. :)
Even though you don't like the theme you pretty much nailed it :D
Fun game to play with a simple goal and nice audio + graphics.

This seems funny to play but I have an azerty keyboard so its not playable. Use arrows next time.

It was pretty hard to steer, but then I'm never a fan of A/D turning.
All in all, cool idea! The sound effects were amusing.

I managed to kill a guy on a boat and ended up on the boat itself. Took forever to get off. Controls took a lot of time to get used to. It may have been better to have a side view of the fish instead of a top view in game. Good idea though!
@slapunas, My plan was doing it that way, but if you make a fish top down you have to do sprite animations for its flipping. And i cant draw that kinda stuff properly ?. Also thanks everyone for feedback.
That idea have big potential! But cotrols totally kills whole gameplay. They are too "heavy" if you know what i mean.
I love the fishy movement out of water, and I must say I liked the controls, they are what makes the game fun. Apart from that it is very hard to hit targets with the spikes.
It took me a few minutes to get used to the controls. I was confused by the tutorial telling me about a time limit because the tutorial has no time limit.
I liked being able to shoot body parts at enemies, and the regrowth made for a natural-looking cooldown period between attacks. I found it really difficult to control when I was out of the water, and while I expected it to be more difficult, it felt really unintuitive. Sometimes I would bounce to the left, and sometimes I would bounce to the right, and it felt random to me.
I found one guy's torso fishing on the surface of the water without a visible boat.
The music felt very Jaws-ish without being too much of an homage.

Fun game! I actually enjoyed the controls, I thought movement was one of the best aspects of this game. You did a great job of hindering the player while they are on land; it really makes you feel like a fish out of water (see what I did there? hahaha :P). Good music, nice sound effects. The spikes were a little difficult to aim, and they were more of a distraction than anything (I would randomly shoot them for the one-in-a-million chance of hitting something, simply running into things was much more effective). There was a surprising amount of variety in the textures and different types of creatures, I was very happy to discover you could eat humans. Overall solid entry, great job!

First off, this is a really awesome idea. I was totally sold on the insane tricks jumping thing. unfortunately the physics are too realistic to allow you to do this. The biggest thing is that the player needs less mass and more speed, to allow you to get high in the air. also a better turning radius. Please tweak this because i reeeaaally want to to awesome tricks!
