A pretty basic shooter game. Dunno if I would really call it "minimalist" though, although it is simple, but then, most Ludum Dare games are. The shooting sound effect got pretty annoying when I was holding the button down. I liked the health bars on enemies, they were a nice touch.
Hmmm, when I crash into the mothership my health bar only grows to the left.
Not bad in terms of controls and themey graphics, but also way too hard :)
No source? Doesn't seem to be minimalistic. Hard. Confusing and messy controls with the tanker (what does it do?) and frigate (never got it).
Grats on learning Flash though, ever got around to it myself.
I like the idea, but the enemies have too much health, and there's no real way to tell when you have enough money for the more advanced ships. Plus, controlling those ships is nearly impossible. Fun for a bit, but needs work.
Pretty nice implementation of a pretty used idea. Definitely needs instructions to go with it. Did the motherships really take a million bullets to get killed or what? :P
I flew in circles, shooting at the ships that had accumulated behind me. I didn't really know what to do after that.
Sounds like it could be a fun idea when finished.
A tip to all the people above me - this game is in a MASSIVE window, and there are actually directions below it! I had no idea the first time I played, but I got very curious when I saw other people talking about buying things and not knowing how much they cost.
Man, I run 1280x1024, and I still can't get the entire game window onscreen (since it's in my browser), so I never saw the text at the bottom of it until I scrolled.
So, once I was able to play... well, not much success. It doesn't really work. The enemies have too much life and are too relentless, even the frigate barely put a dent in them (and they were whittling it down pretty quickly). And I didn't want to shoot at them anyway, knowing that doing so ate up my resources.
I don't know, more unfinished than minimal to be sure.
sweet. didnt have time to play trough the game, but i will later.
