saluk

one file, but too many lines

Really well polished game. Liked the stats at the end of the run and the random tips on the bottom of the screen (even though they were a bit small for reading them while shooting at the same time :)). Some of the ships weren't graphically practical in the way that you weren't able to see where you were aiming at all times. That would've maybe made the gameplay feel a bit more direct. Really liked the leveling up idea.

Hamumu

Nice PIP on the timelapse!

My big complaint with this game was the lack of autofire. My arm hurts right now (I realized after a while that I had 2 fire buttons, so I was pounding them alternately with two fingers... your max fire rate in this game is insane if you don't mind losing the use of your arm).

It was fun to have it dawn on me that the more sides a shape had, the more powerful it was. Ultimately felt pretty pointless though, especially when I managed to max out and knew I was never going to die at that point (playing on easy). I tried hard and just never landed a hit, so that was about that.

The handy tips during play were nice, and lots of stats is always good!

Surrealix

I had the same problem as sol_hsa (again), but once working it was a great game. Well polished and easy to pick up.

My two gripes are that the easy level was boring, once I switched to medium things became a lot more fun. Also, it was quite difficult to figure out which way you were pointing, when you were moving around a lot.

Overall though, the graphics & gameplay were minimal (in a theme-based good way), consistent, and worked well. Sound and/or music would have helped.

I liked how the tutorial was presented, although I guess there's a chance you miss some of it if you're in the middle of fighting enemies. I didn't really like how the ship controlled. Also the visual cue of where I was heading was too subtle. Would had been nicer if the ship was something other than a circle.
Could use some sounds. Also, next time, don't name your game "<insert theme name here>" ... -__-
Good job on the journal and the jugshots, by the way. Timelapse video should had had more upbeat music in my opinion. :-P

SethR

Nice progression system. Sort of reminded me of how vib-ribbon (a vector art PS1 game) worked. Man, I've never seen so many detailed stats in an LD game!

DrPetter

Whee, always nice to get some epic space battle action down in these compos. At first I had a hard time playing it properly as I'd just sort of swerve around in a bunch of enemies and die rather quickly. After a few attempts though, I got the hang of it and ran a 7-minute game with lots of level-upping and nice bullet dodging. I love the slingshot effect you can get with the powerups, particularly when you accidentally sling them away into outer space :)
Minimalism might be the name of the game this time around, but it would sure have been nice with some auditorial feedback for destroying enemies, or at least an explosion-like flash or something. Anything. Disappearing enemies aren't very satisfying.
Overall great fun though, the whole control scheme is very nice and fluid. Most raw gameplay fun I've had so far in this compo.

HybridMind

nice stats. fun game on easy. On medium and above I couldn't seem to actually kill anyone because the control left/right accuracy seems to really drop strangely. Enjoyed the little tractor beam animation and the feel of the line art was great.

dgriff

A lot has been said that I mostly agree with. It was pretty fun, though I sucked at it. What no one else has said so far is ... what the hell kind of class names are those? "Thing", "Dood", "Baddie", and "Shoostings"? =P

pymike

Nice game. Really hard, but it felt pretty cool. I liked the random popup messages throughout the game. That was a nice touch :-)

robot_guy

Nice take on the space battle idea. Somewhat annoying that the bad guys seem to be more manoeuvrable than you are as they tend to fly through you turn and fly back before you can get a good shot. Needs auto fire as well.

mikeware

Just needs sounds and explosion effects to go from good to great.

jolle

flOw meets Space Wars? Pretty nice. My fingers hurt though, I really prefer autofire. Felt a bit slow at first, but then when I got a bit better hang of it it was fun. Died at 9 min 56 sec, with a max level of 8. Don't know if that's any good, I'd guess probably not since it was on easy mode. All in all good entry. Extra food points for the jug, even with its sad end.

Devon

ah nice to shoot some things after a bunch of maze games.

drZool

Strafe controls could be useful in a game like this, and as hamumu say, autofire.

mjau

Well, it's certainly minimalist =). Perhaps a bit too minimalist actually, it really needs some sound. Nicely polished aside from that, and fun too, which is always a plus.

negativegeforce

wish had more time to play. nice shooter.
