Oct 22 10:08:55 Installation Wizard ♥ 2 I felt so dumb playing this! I don't know what it was but I killed myself over and over and had the hardest time actually coming up with strategies! 😆 But I think that is all a me problem tbh. I love the idea of playing inside an installation wizard as a wizard. The little characters and their animations were cute and felt personal. One thing that I don't think I mentioned in the video, but when placing a backdoor/mine on top of tar, it became very hard to spot later. But in a way I guess that is realistic, though maybe not intended from a game design perspective. I found it interesting, but at times also frustrating, figuring out to transport myself without casting spells. Indeed a problem I don't think I've ever encountered in a game. I did enjoy my stay and I think if I had been smarter and not gotten stuck on the levels so long, then I'd really have loved it! So very good entry and superb direction and consistency through out the game. Play-through with more comments: https://youtu.be/zez_lmkbGbU
Oct 22 12:19:06 2h 10m Across The Meridian ♥ 1 My first thought was, good use of the papyrus font! I liked the stay in the game even though I was quite confused throughout it all. The lighting and visual effects did a whole lot for the mood. I don't want to give away too much here so I'll leave it at that. Play-through with more feedback: https://youtu.be/8TPhfijf404
Oct 22 21:28:04 9h 08m Extraction Looter ♥ 0 For me, the game grew on me. It did end up being quite a long play to get to the end (about 70min) and I think my main issues in the end was that it was a bit too much clicking, that felt a bit unnecessary, and could have been upgraded away at some point or been an accessibility setting to just have to click to search container and then id -> clean be automatic. I also ended up quite early to deciding I was just cleaning a single apartment over and over, and while that has some benefit in getting me familiar and optimizing the route, it makes the game loose a lot of variation. I played in chromium on linux and I did have some issues with mouse not returning and having to alt tab to get it back. I also noticed that the ray-cast for containers picks the first one to show tooltip (search/empty) but when you click you actually don't stop at the first but can get something behind or even both at the same time. Especially where you had two bookshelves back to back. Play-through with more comments and feedback: https://youtu.be/BkpZsqmWN2Q
Oct 23 16:22:24 18h 54m Dr Break Boom Invaders ♥ 1 As other's have mentioned, it was really satisfying when the break-out ball went to the other lanes. Also a bit of a respite. It did feel quite overwhelming but the game had a nice amount of margin so that it didn't just end right away. Instead as the minutes added up, even though it felt like I struggled and only looked at the two left-most lanes, it got more and more exciting. I think I got a decent score in the end. Both the ascii visuals and the shaders on top of that felt really nice. Really good game! Play-through with more feedback. Or well I was so focused I was silent a whole lot in this one 😆 But some comments here and there: https://youtu.be/or0B2cQo-Gk
Oct 24 09:20:07 16h 57m Retroid Zania ♥ 0 I played on your site to have full-screen, you really should enable the fullscreen button on itch, for those that happen to go that route. The different game modes all worked very well. And it had quite a bit of retro fun even though I grew up playing other games. The art felt very authentic of the era and each game mode. The music as well. I did have a few minor annoyances: - I would have like to be able to hold shoot the asteroids as accessibility feature. - The ascii world was really nice to be able to hold, but even tapping the button I accidentally got two input on several occasions. So while the hold-move speed was good, the initial time before going into hold mode vs tap mode should probably be doubled or something. - Since death/reset weren't punishing, this didn't matter much but after buying or not buying the sword in the zelda shop you got teleported out and the monsters could happen to just insta-kill you. Having them frozen for a split second and/or not spawn right where you enter a screen would have been nice. I'm thinking too that the game plays best if you never die, or die as little as possible - so you as a player are unsure what the reset is going to be and this type of exit shop accident made me definitely lower the amount I cared for death in the game. - The boss battle, I accidentally selected a top action just by double pressing and it would have been nice to be able to go back. Again to keep the illusion about the stakes, and the smartness of my moves. Over all a great entry! (I feel inclined to mention the honeypot 🦎 lol) Play-through: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWBrdsfKO6U
Oct 25 09:59:13 24h 39m Old Games ♥ 0 I see we used the same framing - playing a game on an old computer in the game! Playing a low res suika-game was nice, and the physics in it felt right. The 3D models were nice too and the room game a very attick-vibe, though almost a sense of horror game as there was no door or hatch or other way out of the room 😆 A bit of sound effects in the games would have gone a long way for me to elevate the experience, but I think I'd also would have loved some framing story to the whole experience in the game and/or some more personal twist to the implementations of the classical arcade games. Nice entry! Play-through with more feedback: https://youtu.be/kzgRELFFHic
Oct 25 10:23:00 23m 47s emailrpg.com ♥ 0 I once long ago made a small adventure played over mail too. But this one is way more involved! It is an interesting concept that I feel like it is best played over a sequence of many many days rather than in a single sitting. Due to how slow the medium is. I tried to start playing this but i get stuck on the character creator. I even tried just copying the example you provided and it didn't work: `blonde hair in a ponytail with dark skin and red clothes ` `blonde hair, ponytail, dark skin, red clothes` `short brown hair, light skin, blue clothes` Until I tried removing the entire mail and just sending that in a blank and then it did work. So for some reason the quoting of your mail to me worked for the first mails but not that one. For reference the way the replies get formatted by default is like this: ``` 2026-10-25 11:07 skrev game@emailrpg.com: > > Sorry, gotta ask you to spell things out for me. You gotta include hair style and color, skin color and clothes color. That is missing hair style (short, ponytail, bald), hair color (blonde, brown, black), skin color (light, medium, dark), clothes color (red, blue, green). > > Something like "short brown hair, light skin, blue clothes". short brown hair, light skin, blue clothes ``` So I guess I'm going to take it slow and stop after the character creation for now. Edit: I also got an error trying to just send a mail that said "go up" like one of the suggestions.
Oct 25 10:41:40 18m 40s Caption Obvious ♥ 0 I watched through your developer commentary / video as you only have a windows build and I cannot play that. Really cool to make a developer commentary. It is a really neat idea to collect silent film dialogue cards and use them in a little adventure! I kinda expected them to also show up when using them, but then again the game isn't a silent game either and I can see how that might become annoying in the end. The art direction is also really cool and all those voice lines would have been fun to experience. I wish I had been able to play it!
Oct 25 11:09:46 28m 06s Troll the King ♥ 0 Really solid execution. The game looks great and has nice sounds too and I honestly don't think I had much to complain about with regards to input either. I had fun playing this little game and composing nasty letters. It would have been nice to see how many papers you had built up in store, but after a while I started playing differently and send as soon as I had one paper. I realize now that you could probably play it ignoring the pigeons and build up a large stack of paper and then send all the papers in very quick succession? As expected, very solid entry indeed. Oct 25 12:59:14 1h 49m Amiga 12000 ♥ 0 I managed to get to the end even though I got quite confused on the last puzzle. Felt very sure that all of the rules applied to at least another system! The graphics was very nice. In particular the planet shaders. The sound effects were also very good. The music fit well with at least one of the parts feeling very sci-fi. The story was sad and cute at the same time, especially with that finally posed question. That made me smile. I feel like the game was perfect length for its content. Oct 25 15:43:34 2h 44m Cerulean Room ♥ 1 I _love_ the audio work, songs, voice acting. It's just beyond what should be possible in a jam. For me, the puzzles were too hard a lot of the time. A major problem being the lack of subtitles to audio-based puzzles. Some in interactions were also quite frustrating. I know this sounds harsh, but the love and talent that obviously is going into this game makes me want to have had a fun and somewhat challenging experience where the friction came only from figuring out the solutions rather than being checked my abilities to manage the game. If that makes sense? I did have to pause and look at the play-through you posted to progress and at one point I was about to rage-quit, but I think I got to the end? A black screen at least. Again though, absolutely stellar voice work, music, and so on. Unfortunately I messed up my recording a bit so there's a gap in the playing but most of it I did at least capture. Oct 27 10:21:05 42h 37m T.O.R.Q ♥ 1 I tried and tried but at least I got to the second lap a couple of times. It would have been nice with an easy-mode for people that suck at racing games 😆 I really like how the cog wobbles when turning, how it strives to stay on track when you are on the edge and over all the camera work is great! I wonder though if it wouldn't have been nice with a bit more decoration around the track and maybe theme it even more towards cogs, machines and engines? It was somewhat confused in the beginning, what the combo counter was for since they cannot be used or seem to influence the outcome of doing new stunts. Many games if you have a combo active, doing new stunts gives a bit of a bonus. Also didn't really see that I got game over because my meter at the bottom ran out for quite a while. Oct 27 12:03:50 1h 42m Notes on Ancient Tech ♥ 0 I gave up after an hour but I did get all the way to a final set of three things to identify. Really nice drawings and I liked the puzzle of having to rotate some of them in my mind to identify them. It would have been nice if there was music in the background all the way through, I think. But more importantly, if I could have filtered solved and also seen how many times I had correctly marked down the usages it would have been nice. Over all though a really great game. Oct 27 15:16:55 3h 13m Snuffed Out ♥ 0 I liked the graphical effects, the sound effects the most, I think. The voice acting was nice too. Input wise - the controls worked smoothly. I did however find the early part of the game a bit too much busy-work with the long trek from the navigation to the furnace and back. Especially with how short time you got to fly each time. That in combination with the many false ends in the flying didn't really work so well for me. I don't want to spoil things here, but I appreciated the later parts more (even though the flying still felt a bit off). I would have liked some clear indication on the furnace if adding more coal helped my flying time, after having played it to the end, I'm guessing I wasted a fair bit of time there, but as a furnace should burn longer the more you put in, if that was the case the game could really have been helped by telling me so. !> When first I was flying I really tried to stay away from the edges, assuming there was a real stake, but towards the end it felt like there was no real stake (might have been, but didn't feel like). Overall a very well made entry though. And as I said some of the visual and sound effects were really great! https://youtu.be/n3nHCg1v2w8
Oct 28 11:11:06 19h 54m Antiquus Labyrinthus ♥ 0 I really struggled playing this unfortunately. Maybe I was playing it the wrong way, but I never got very far and then lack of healing and fairness in fights made it feel impossible to progress far. The 3D models were nice though and it had a good atmosphere, and my troubles may very much just be my own problems and not the game's 😆 Play-through with more detailed feedback: https://youtu.be/0NhBSPQRiqw
Oct 28 11:43:20 32m 14s MyKoolHomePage.com ♥ 0 I really enjoyed playing this one. The difference in voice between the three customers is really well made and it was fun putting together their pages. Of course if there was even more variety in how to design them and stuff to put in there, it would have been even more fun. And perhaps if the characters afterwards could have reacted to what you'd done - like if you go all hearts and soft on the emo kid. Not that it should count as a fail state, but just building the story a bit further. Overall the UI and interactions worked great, but maybe the phone signal could have died down a bit over time. I realize it's needed to help the player progress by answering, but if I was busy designing and wanted to complete that before answering it felt a bit irritating/nagging. Overall though, very good entry! Play-through with more feedback: https://youtu.be/EfclkXyhBfY
Oct 28 13:49:38 2h 06m Punchcard Robots ♥ 0 It was fun coding a little silly pattern for the robot and somehow it even managed to win with it. It did take a while, and I think the main reason it won was that the `LOOK` command seem to not really work when things move or turn too fast and my bot managed to cause the others to spin round very fast. I tried to copy paste my code into the enemies but it seemed never to work and it was really strange how I could only paste into one slot, but it kept shifting. There were some quality of life things that could be improved in the programming, I think. The text and punch card weren't aligning. Clearer indications on the error lines. Clicking a line could set focus to the input field. I was happy to see that I could set negative speeds! Overall I enjoyed playing, and watching the fight play out.
