@jezzamon should be public?

alexclay 2026-10-20 06:04 ♥ 0

I'm getting the following error when I launch the .exe "Data folder not found. There should be 'Cerulean Room_Data' folder next to the executable."

Edit: Fixed now when I downloaded the new version.

I escaped! Pretty neat puzzles! I think I got stuck the longest on finding the second battery, but after that, I managed to go through most of the puzzles without many problems. A few nitpicks: When dialogue is shown, it blocks the regular interaction input. It took me a few attempts at the safe to realize that, because the safe wasn't responding all the time so I kept looking for a sweet spot. But it just didn't register my input because of the notification that I entered the wrong code. I also had a similar problem with flipping things over. I wanted to flip over the record but I couldn't do that because I was still holding it (or I wasn't, I can't remember). So only after revisiting it a few minutes later did I realize I just didn't click in the right state.

All that aside, I enjoyed stumbling my way through the dark while listening to cryptic messages and making phone calls. Good job!

@frib thanks for the feedback. I am relieved to hear that you escaped lol, I was worried it was unfinishable. yeah, I think maybe a proper dialogue box at the top that you could click off separately from the main game would've been a good addition, and clicks mid hold. I never even considered that possibility haha, there's so much to think about. Thanks for the comment!

This was really cool! I was playing through on web at first, but the cursor doesnt show on the pc so I couldnt get past the mouse ball part on web :( but I played through the windows build to the end. I really liked the details you guys went to with the different tech, and that b side is a banger!

@dippyshere that's so weird, I just checked the editor and something happened to the sprite mask when I turned off URP to make the browser one's framerate faster. building a new version, thanks for bringing it to my attention

Well, that was as hard and convoluted as the original games 😄

!> Both of my big hurdles included morse code machine, and both of them were kinda my own fault. I unplugged phone line before sending the morse code, so I wasn't getting any response when I finally found the sequence to send 😅 I figured out my mistake eventually, but when I got to the second message (the MC No-Cell's one), I kinda assumed that all the morse code lines were just a part of the melody. So to get that part of the safe code I looked at play-through, sorry 😅

That was a pleasant throwback to the original games, made me feel nostalgic!

@annie-owl no it's no problem haha it's not an easy game

That dial-up sound hits different in your 30s. Like a warm hug.

[Thanks for submitting your game to stream!](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2909045755?t=00h25m11s)

This truly felt like a blast from the past. I was super into these kinds of escape room games waaaay back in the day. 😄

I _love_ the audio work, songs, voice acting. It's just beyond what should be possible in a jam.

For me, the puzzles were too hard a lot of the time. A major problem being the lack of subtitles to audio-based puzzles. Some in interactions were also quite frustrating. I know this sounds harsh, but the love and talent that obviously is going into this game makes me want to have had a fun and somewhat challenging experience where the friction came only from figuring out the solutions rather than being checked my abilities to manage the game. If that makes sense?

I did have to pause and look at the play-through you posted to progress and at one point I was about to rage-quit, but I think I got to the end? A black screen at least.

Again though, absolutely stellar voice work, music, and so on.

Unfortunately I messed up my recording a bit so there's a gap in the playing but most of it I did at least capture.

I love escape rooms. What a delightful game!

It was a bit challenging for me because English isn't my native language, and I struggle with listening comprehension—I had to record everything and listen to it multiple times.

It was fun to interact—even if only virtually—with technology that I’m quite familiar with (well, except for the telegraph). I even tried to spin the dial in the opposite direction, but I couldn't. Is that even possible?

Your game reminded me of the many Flash-based "escape rooms" I played back in the early 2000s. That old-school technology was present not just in the game's theme, but in its very soul.

Carrying a flashlight around was a really nice touch; it added an air of mystery to the gameplay, even if it wasn't strictly essential to the story. And the art—well, I don't even need to say much: I just love pixel art games! As for the audio—sensational! Every interaction with the telephone and the cassette tape was excellent. The music mixing was great, though at times the voice-over was a bit too quiet, which made it slightly difficult to follow. For me, the audio is the most sophisticated part of the game.

Thank you so much for the experience, and congratulations to the entire team on a job well done.

P.S. Yes, I managed to finish it!
