| Apr 27 19:38:35 | What's that signal? | ♥ 2 | That was fun! I love hearing everything around me - it almost seems like if footstep sounds were added we could play this game blind :D. Short and sweet and I don't really have any complaints or suggestions. The poems were a nice touch. | |
| Apr 27 20:00:56 | 22m 21s | Suit Yourself | ♥ 1 | Screenshot 2026-04-27 125801.png Solid game! I played for a while. Made it to 4.6M points. I noticed the timer stopped when I started dragging, which meant I basically had infinite time, so just let the timer run out when I got bored. Stopping the timer was probably a good choice, despite that, as the game'd probably just be more frustrating if time ran out mid-swiped (I guess maybe just slowing it down / not letting it run out, as long as you managed to make a swipe would be a reasonable compromise). I seemed to get _way_ more points per second at the beginning (when there were just 2 colors) than later - so though that felt like a good difficulty ramp, it discouraged me realizing it was very difficult to keep getting lots of points. I spent all of my lighting bolts at the end to build up a couple really big combos to make up the difference though, and that was fun (but I'm not sure I would have spent them except that I'd decided I was going to let the timer run out...). |
| Apr 27 20:18:47 | 17m 51s | Fillmore's Island | ♥ 1 | Solid entry! I liked the (non-Unicode) snowman. Clearly the drones are made from the same technology as the hoverboards in Back to the Future II, hence the lack of aquatic ability. I loved the very visible power progression and displayed signal range, those mechanics just worked great, and the level was designed fantastically around them. I took slightly longer than, I suppose, I should have, because I assumed recalling the drone would drop the battery, and I never even tried until the very last battery (which I had managed to launch outside of a range I could ever get my signal to π). Really enjoyed this! |
| Apr 27 20:36:07 | 17m 20s | Per Signum | ♥ 2 | I win! Screenshot 2026-04-27 133418.png That was neat! I was _not_ expecting it to be turn-based from the screenshots π. It worked really well though. I wish when placing drones it snapped to the nearest valid position, I felt like I spent a lot of time with the cursor red, slowly moving it towards the nearest thing waiting for it to turn green (and, maybe that didn't even matter, but I assumed the closer I placed the drone to the edge, the further it'd run...). Was fun seeing the hoard of enemies coming at me when I finally went North, I'm glad you had that advice on the page π. |
| Apr 27 20:52:08 | 16m 01s | Timmy's Late For Tea | ♥ 1 | I enjoyed getting "BBQ'd", and at the end from what I saw through the slats it was exactly what I thought it was. I want to complain that I'm playing an 11 year old, and I walk pasted a swing set, and I don't immediately swing on it?! Oh, wait, you said brainrot. Nevermind. My only complaint is that I never realized that the right and left arrows did something on the phone (specifically, open the games menu) until after I beat the game and saw "Snek II high score" in the score board π. I probably would have gotten ran over by _even more_ cars if I was playing that while walking, though... |
| Apr 27 21:20:29 | 28m 21s | 1100 Fish | ♥ 1 | Really neat! Feels like a great start of a game - I enjoyed sending my boats around, having to remember where fish were on the rotating signal was engaging, having a limited number of pins was great. By the end of day 2, I was getting a little bored, though I played through the end of day 4, always having much more than my quota. If there was just a _little_ more motivation (something to spend money on, upgrading ship speed or something), I'd probably get totally hooked on this =). Still, what's there was a great accomplishment for the jam, and the visuals and radar effect were just great. |
| Apr 27 21:41:25 | 20m 56s | Winnerman Scams a Game Show | ♥ 1 | That was fun! Even in the post-jam build I was completely unable to figure out how to finish the game until I watched a video earlier in the comments... and even then I had to frame-step through it to see what happened π. I think shooting the hand was the first thing I tried, but, of course, it was blocked by the eyeball, so I thought I needed to get behind the eyeball, or make it dizzy by flying around it 5 times, or other things I tried to no avail π. Voice acting was great as always! Really interesting execution, and very smooth UI for such a seemingly complex set of inputs =). |
| Apr 27 21:55:34 | 14m 09s | Adventures in Xenolinguistics! | ♥ 0 | I managed to figure out 6 words, I think π. It was fun, but then the "end of the demo" avalanche of words and symbols ended me π. Would be interesting to try again when there's more guidance in-game =). |
| Apr 28 19:51:46 | 21h 56m | Space Rover | ♥ 1 | Neat game. I also expected relative rotation and that confused me =). I sometimes hit "reset" and the UI for entering commands didn't appear for quite a while. I enjoyed queuing up the commands, I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was a "author whole set of commands, then watch it go" kind of thing instead of doing a few (or, just 1, when I was lazy), watching it, and then continuing from where it was. It was fun when I had to keep track in my head where I thought the rover would be (and then amusing to see how far off my estimates were π). I made it through all the levels in command mode, only did one in manual mode and it just seemed frustrating =). |
| Apr 28 20:33:49 | 42m 03s | What the SIGNAL??! | ♥ 1 | Neat idea! I gave up on trying to figure out what the words meant pretty quickly (just kept getting nuked and reset to the beginning π). I glanced at the walkthrough and pulled up the dictionary and kind of enjoyed it when I was just looking things up in a dictionary (that alone added to the challenge =). I managed to make contact with 4 different star systems, but at that point seeing the daunting amount of repetitive trades I'd have to make, I shamefully gave up -_-. It would have been nice if the trade dialog remembered the destination, that first planet must have been getting really suspicious that I kept hurtling rocks their way without provocation... (serves them right for nuking me in another life) |
| Apr 28 20:45:50 | 12m 01s | Hydroacoustic | ♥ 1 | That was... intense! I jumped out of my seat when I first got hit by a torpedo, even though I knew it was coming π. Sub controls nice, but I wish there were keyboard controls, my old wrist can't handle that much clicking -_-. I made it to about 2K away from the goal before using up, I presume, my last life. I really enjoyed having to dodge torpedoes I knew were coming but was too afraid to turn on the radar to see them =). |
| Apr 28 22:09:19 | 1h 23m | LoS: Linked | ♥ 1 | What a great little game! Pure thrust control with no "stop moving" key is a bold choice π. I played with gamepad (which was maybe a little sensitive, probably doing full thrust if I even just slightly moved in one axis), and it worked pretty well, thanks for saving my mousing hand! It got a _little_ repetitive going all the way back to my home base, I'd have liked some way around that. But, along the way, I got _pretty_ good at the "increase thrust, rotate 90 degrees, slide through that tiny hole sideways" maneuver that I probably should not have designed my network around, but, hey, and excuse to feel some mastery, it worked! Music was nice and didn't get repetitive. Here's my map: ld59-los.png |
| Apr 28 23:00:42 | 51m 23s | LaΓ― Express | ♥ 1 | Apparently I went around a corner too fast? "An accident happened: hAL08 ran into hAL08" π It was my last train on the last level π’ A little tweak and 2 more tries, and I did it :). I went with a pretty manual option for the end, but it just barely worked, as long as I remembered to set lights back to red... Uploads are borked right now, so here's a screenshot: http://pink.thesilentb.com/files/ld59-lai.png ld59-lai.png I really enjoyed this! I wish the track drawing was just a bit more intuitive (not needing to manually rotate to draw intersections and corners would be nice - I guess I never placed tracks next to each other like some people did, but it seems like you could just paint "track" or "not track" and auto-choose intersections (if you didn't allow placing two in parallel or something) which would probably be more intuitive (but, maybe make for less complicated tracks...). Music got a little repetitive. Just barely remembering to switch the tracks in time always felt good π. |
| Apr 29 00:02:56 | 1h 02m | Signal Circuits | ♥ 1 | Nicely done! After a bit of confusion where I thought level #6 was the second level, I managed to complete the first 12 levels before running out of steam =). I couldn't tell if it was a bug or a feature, but it seems like if two special things are next to each other, they don't (always? ever?) talk, e.g. a splitter into a cross seemed to generate a signal from nothing, and a splitter into a gate didn't visually connect, but seemed like it maybe was sending a signal through anyway. I often had a little trouble drawing the wires I wanted to draw, but after a while I mostly got used to it. A few of the levels I wish I had more description of what the inputs and outputs are - I had to look up what an "SR Latch" was, and, like @lcstark above, I was confused on Adder about which bits were high and low (I *think* `in0` was the actually the low bit, not the high as we both assumed, so his problem was not `10 + 10 = 100`, but actually `01 + 01 = 10`, he's probably got the right solution if he swapped the inputs around). Sounds were minimal but nice. I liked watching my circuits animate. If there was a few metrics to be scored on (time to execute, surface area, number of gates?) this'd make a neat little Zach-like! |
| Apr 29 00:18:42 | 15m 46s | DOT-DASH-Protocol | ♥ 1 | Lovely little game! I made it to the end, died once, and that felt pretty good. Really interesting take on a one-button game. I just wish that one button also advanced the dialog! :) |
| Apr 29 00:24:25 | 5m 43s | suno pi tomo tawa (Traffic Light) | ♥ 0 | My high score - also 23! Took a while to get into the flow of it, and then I felt like I was doing okay =). Nicely challenging, nice simple visuals to fit the simplicity of the game, I like it. I wish the keys I had to press were actually the ones displayed in the game though =). |
| Apr 29 00:35:24 | 10m 59s | CRASHDAR | ♥ 1 | Neat little game. The grid got messed up a few times on me, locking the game, seemed to maybe be if I start the radar mid-move, or start moving while the radar was still scanning. As long as I stood still it worked. Mine was frustrating when it seemed like I was following a safe path (height of `N`), but I randomly tried M and it worked out instead ^_^. I made it to the end, yay! Really cool being an actual Gameboy game. |
