| Apr 8 15:18:08 | Turtle slide | ♥ 1 | game.png I always like a challenge, so I had fun. My biggest complaint would be that the movement seems to be inconsistent. Sometimes I jump higher or lower, and I'm not sure what is causing that. Either something is going wrong in the code, or there is a game mechanic I don't understand. Either way I kept going. I like how you had so much variety in such a slim space. Good job! | |
| Apr 10 22:29:45 | 55h 11m | Nine Lives Deep | ♥ 5 | With Ludum Dare, one thing is for certain: I get to play another banger of a game made by Windmill Games. You guys never disappoint, and each time it's impressive what you guys manage to do in the short time span of 72 hours. The graphics are beautiful, the cutscenes are well put together, the game mechanic is interesting, with three freaking bosses, and the audio and visuals help set the mood. My only complaint would be that maybe it's too easy. I actually forgot to use the dash mechanic haha. Anyway, great game as always! |
| Apr 11 15:24:27 | 16h 54m | Strafe To Hell | ♥ 1 | THERE'S NO FREAKING WAY THAT THIS IS REAL OMG IT'S AMAZING I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! |
| Apr 11 19:23:48 | 3h 59m | Sun(d)less Descend | ♥ 2 | Really cool game! Trying to match what they say with the phonemes is an interesting mechanic. For one of the trios I wasn't able to figure out the middle one, but I was able to brute force it. I didn't really get the story (and I'm not really a story guy anyway), but I did feel the vibe of lost explorers. Really nice mood with the graphics and music. Great job! |
| Apr 11 19:37:38 | 13m 50s | Rappel the Porter | ♥ 4 | Lovely game with a nice use of the theme. The extremely long arm is funny, and I like the split view of your bag and you hanging there above the fighting dungeoneers. One complaint I have is that grabbing items is a bit annoying. Either the item is not being grabbed, or it lets go as you move back. I also feel like levels went by a bit too fast. But overall a good game with a nice tune. Great job! |
| Apr 11 20:12:28 | 34m 50s | Kika's Eggsplosive Descent | ♥ 5 | Really fun game! It looks easy at first, but dodging those bombs is actually pretty tough (and also I'm impatient 😁) I like that you discover more blocks as you progress, and looking at the screenshot it looks like I wasn't able to discover all of them. Nice painty graphics, and a cool tune. Great job! |
| Apr 11 20:35:59 | 23m 31s | Dig Digger | ♥ 5 | Really cool game! Love that the drilling syncs with the music. It's fun and challenging to work with the sudden increase in speed. Though I feel like the instant increase is a bit unfair, as it's hard to anticipate and I'm not sure how far I will move forward. Anyway, great game overall! Good job! |
| Apr 11 20:45:58 | 9m 59s | Coin Grind | ♥ 2 | Cool game! When I saw the gif on the homepage it looked like it would be easy, but it's actually quite tough. You really need to strategize when to use what tool. The graphics are minimal, but they work. Great job! |
| Apr 11 22:04:29 | 1h 18m | Not Too Deep | ♥ 4 | Very funny game! There's something very funny about the scream icon when you fail a level. Played it twice to see what happens when I fail at something. Great job! |
| Apr 11 23:43:18 | 1h 38m | The Drop | ♥ 1 | Awesome music, great voicelines! I wish there was a bit more challenge and variation, as it's quite repetitive, but I enjoyed my time either way. I reached the leaderboard 😁 score.png |
| Apr 13 00:58:41 | 25h 15m | Shleep | ♥ 4 | Great and calm(??) incremental game! The earthquake and baby were very funny, and I love how you kept bringing in new mechanics. Great job! |
| Apr 13 12:18:47 | 11h 20m | . | ♥ 12 | Since you want to put this game on Steam, and since you have made 12(!) posts over the last 6 days, here's some feedback. The game is very confusing. The dragging of the cards doesn't seem to work, and after selecting an area it visually deselects right after. So even with reading the guide it took me a moment to realize I had to click the card, click the area, and click play card. But it's also confusing how the game works. I get that I need to reach the challenges that are visible on the televisions, but I never understood the scoring. For example, why is the queen of hearts worth more than the king of spades? There is the heart rate mechanic, but what affects my heart rate? I don't seem to have any influence on it, so I'm not sure what the point is. There doesn't seem to be much strategy. I get a low card, I place it at the low card television. I get a spades, I place it at the spades television. Sometimes there is the matter of what card to place where. Do I use this high card to satisfy the condition of the right television, or do I use it to crank up the score in the center. The problem is that I don't know what cards are in my deck, so it's a complete gamble. A different kind of gamble you would have in Balatro where you have information on what your deck contains. And with bad luck, two important cards get pulled at the same time. One time the center challenge was "even" and I ended up with an uneven number because of a multiplier. It's quite something to ask from the player to calculate what their end score is gonna be to anticipate this. I'm not a big fan of clones, especially when they don't put in the effort of changing things around. Things like the jokers, multipliers and tarot cards. Speaking of cards, have you drawn them yourself? That's impressive if you did in 48 hours, but if not you should opt out of the graphics category. Also because the rabbit and arm seem to be made with AI. |
| Apr 13 12:23:44 | 4m 57s | Photo Pro Papparazzi | ♥ 1 | Funny short game! The problem is that once you have him in your vision you can spam the picture button. It would be fun if you had more targets to photograph. The sound of the camera zooming in and out is a bit annoying, but the voicelines were funny. Also, I really like this use of the theme. Good job! |
| Apr 13 16:48:51 | 4h 25m | The Moon Reconstruction Program | ♥ 2 | It's always amazing to see how much you can get done in such a short time span. Not only a cool mechanic, but also lots of voicelines and a boss fight. I like how easy it is to move around. Simply pressing E to move through walls is oddly satisfying. Nothing finicky about it, just let the player pass through and move around as they please. For a while I wasn't sure whether there was a point in reconstructing the moon. Will I really have to combine all of it to complete the game, I wondered. It was a pleasant surprise to find out that no, it's not necessary, but that it doesn't mean that it's useless. Though not present in your game, you could have a puzzle where you need to place a block between those dusty walls for you to be able to pass through. It's how I wanted to solve the wall at first before I found out I need to unlock something. Great game, very funny, nice graphics, lovely music. A banger once again. Great job Coin! |
| Apr 13 17:01:17 | 12m 26s | Pack | ♥ 1 | Lovely game, Jeremy! It's a lot of fun to figure out what should go where, and to open a box and find a piece that belongs elsewhere. The many references were a lot of fun to see. Also a great use of the theme. Another solid entry, great job! |
| Apr 13 21:27:55 | 4h 26m | Excapade | ♥ 2 | It's unfortunate that there is no sound, because it would add a lot! It all feels a bit unfinished (especially the dying part haha) but it's definitely playable. It's unfortunate that I have to start over completely after dying, else I might have played some more. I really like the art of the monsters! And though the mole is just standing still he does look cute. So good job! (And good post on you know where) |
| Apr 23 18:43:05 | 237h 15m | Cast Iron Hammer Golf | ♥ 1 | For how simple this game is, it's a lot of fun! It's super satisfying when you manage to shoot the block exactly where you want it to land. There's a lot of good game design in this game that is to be appreciated. That you need to try to remove a specific block, that you regain health when you manage to do so, the wind to keep things fresh. After a while I actually stopped using the arrow keys, and ignored the indicator. Could be a separate difficulty. I managed to get level 8. Level 18 would take quite a while I'm afraid. Anyway, good job! |
| Apr 25 19:05:15 | 48h 22m | Raising The Bar | ♥ 1 | Made me feel like a billionaire 😄 Always nice when Ludum Dare gives me an excuse to get out my VR glasses. It was actually somewhat cool when I was in the dark and turned off my lights, to sit completely in darkness. Too bad there wasn't much to see, like fish or anything, but the tunes were funny. |
