May 14 10:01:18 Refrigerator Rampage ♥ 0 Cute entry and liked the audio but it was a little too difficult to get away from the terrifying carton of milk :P Nice physics though!
May 14 10:10:25 9m 07s Dwarven Mines ♥ 1 Nice idea and has great visuals and audio. Looks super cute and I like the variation in mining sound which makes it less one dimensional. I agree that the bats are a little op since you don't get any warning when they appear and immediately lose at least one life which makes it a luck game rather than skill. Maybe adding a longer "poof" when they appear and let them hover for a second before chasing you will give the player time to react. Really cool that it's all randomly generated! Would maybe add a few levels to it to add a sense of acheivement and progress. Overall really awesome entry and defo one of the better collecting games this jam! Well done!
May 14 10:18:32 8m 07s It's Nice Down There ♥ 4 Amazing entry! Totally agree with previous comments that the mood and atmosphere was incredibly well executed. Looks great and hit the theme in a unique way. I was super confused how this was going to play out with the super simple concept and no explanation to what gameplay could be but was very pleasantly surprised by it. Maybe adding some kind of "hide behind something" mechanic could enhance/switch up gameplay a little but for a jam game, the one mechanic is done well and means you have a very well polished game so well done! I didn't finish it unfortunately as I'm terrible at timing and coordination so I had to rage quit but I still enjoyed what I saw of the game. Mum will have to go without pickles this evening I guess :(
May 14 11:06:00 47m 28s Mira's Therapy ♥ 1 Really nice atmosphere created here in a beautiful and orginal game idea. Typing to get the prompts was a very nice touch which prevented it from becoming a mindless click to respond game and didn't feel as railroaded as a result. however, it did make it a little tricky. I did get quite stuck and felt like I'd gone through all the options but she still wouldn't open up and kept getting ellipses. I would love to see a playthrough! I love the background art and music felt so soothing. Even the font felt like it contributed to the overall feel of the game and it seemed like you put thought into each aspect of the game's creation. One slight thing that is suuuuper nitpicky was not being able to use only the keyboard and having to move my hand to use the mouse to select an option. I feel like with a game where you type the response, you should be able to use arrow keys or tab and hit enter to select the highlighted answer since I kept hitting enter just out of habit (especially when there was only one option). However, this is a super specific bit of feedback that would make it feel smoother for me personally! Overall, absolutely amazing job so well done and I can't wait to see a playthrough if you make one!
May 14 11:28:21 22m 21s Spread Your Roots ♥ 2 Really neat concept and I love the idea of the tree generating at the end. Struggled to get more water but that just meant the game was short but sweet and I can't imagine how large the tree would have been if I had given it was so big already! The art was cute but would have been nice if the roots going sideways had linked up. Had a little panic when I did the first side one that I was doing it wrong! Other than that, I like the art and don't think you need any "artist friends" :P Possibly adding the ability to scroll using the scroll wheel would have been nice especially at the end when it takes a little while to pan up but that's a very minor suggestion! Overall, super nice entry! Well done!
May 14 11:45:59 17m 38s Super Scran ♥ 1 Nice entry! I like the concept and take on the theme is different to a lot of others out there which is refreshing. The people were cute and I like the variation in customers. I would agree with previous comments on it being a little difficult to understand. "Press E to interact" really threw me off at first as I thought that would apply to everything and didn't even think to use my mouse to click items! Maybe adding controls to the descrpition would help as I know adding decent tutorial during a jam can be time consuming! Whilst the basis is good, some more dynamic gameplay would be nice. Maybe adding more customers or time limit would be good or jus splitting it into a couple of levels with a customer countdown would bring a goal and sense of achievement in without being too much extra work. I would recommend zooming out so you can see the whole kitchen as it was annoying not being able to see the customer's order while moving around and there didn't seem any good reason to be zoomed in. Overall, nice entry and good idea but some more depth/challenge to gameplay and better description would go a long way!
May 14 11:59:14 13m 15s DAYDREAM ♥ 2 This sounds like a really cool concept and the story already had me interested and wanting to know more befor the first level! However, I won't lie, I rage quit on the first level since I'm terrible at platformers xD I did go back in and try again and did a little better but still couldn't complete the first level. I would really love to see a plythrough of the game to see what happens in the story! I like the graphics of the game and it creates a certain discordance with itself that I think works well to make a strange atmopshere (feel like this might work with the story too given the Alice in Wonderland stuff but unsure since I didn't get that far...). However, the sound whenever you touch something was quite annoying and really abrupt which took away from the atmospehere of the game. I appreciate that some sound is better than none to make a game more immersive but I'm unsure in this case... Maybe try a softer noise? Overall, really promising storyline and atmosphere (minus sound), smooth movement mechanics including that cool glide. Awesome job! Well done!
May 14 12:45:02 45m 48s Brinebeard's Folly ♥ 0 I absolutely loved this game! So addictive and the shop gave a classic minesweeper a real nice replayability! The timed factor with the oxygen meant that it wasn't just a case of being good at minesweeper but having to use the items well to get deeper with more treasure. I did have to get out of the habit of trying to clear everything and just make progress. Really nice take on the theme too! Art style was super cute and fit the theme of the game nicely. The shop UI was nice with lighting up when things became available to buy etc. I would agree with the previous comment on it being a little difficult to keep track of your items so number icons would have been nice! I also liked the sound effects making the game nicely rounded out and polished. Overall, one of the best games I've played all jam! Sad I'm having to stop since I need to rate more other games! Amazing job and well done! Edit: I've also just scrolled up and seen this is a compo entry?! Whatttt?! The level of polish here is amazing and there's still a decent amount of content! Super impressed.
May 14 13:18:04 33m 02s Fishing the Depths ♥ 0 Really cute and addictive game. Did feel a little slow at first but upraded my reel speed and was fine! Was still a little annoying that when you get to the boat, the speed drops right back down to the original. Possibly having a fast animation where the fish is pulled out of the water quickly would be a nice touch or even just having it come out at the same speed as the reel if that would be less time consuming to do. Graphically very cute and nice colours. I liked the idea of having to upgrade the light which added more depth (hehe see what I did there) to the graphics without making them more complex. Maybe slight variation in fish design would have been nice although I expect the one fish was also due to time restrants! Gameplay was very smooth overall and it was more dynamic that you didn't just press and hold to reel in the fish but had to keep an eye on the bar making the game more engaging. Had some issues actually catching fish occasionally though meaning I had to double/triple tap to catch a fish which seemed like it possibly came from needing to be in contact with the fish for a certain time period and my line was too fast and speeding by? Other than that, no gameplay issues! Overall, really nice entry and well polished especially given this is a compo entry! Amazing job and well done!
May 14 13:51:21 33m 17s Bunny Bunny Dig Dig ♥ 0 Can't believe this is a compo game! So well polished and still with so much content! Love the graphics and how cute they are! So impressed and I had great fun playing!
May 17 20:53:50 79h 02m Dropdown ♥ 0 Nice simple game with a good amount of polish. Love the cute little avatar and that he rotates as he slides and falls etc. The overall graphics were consistent and the simplicity matched really nicely with the whole vibe of the game although a couple of additional animations (like squishing slightly when landing) would have added to the polish. The music was also very cute although got a tad repetitive in my opinion. The score counting was nice but having a high score recorded would have been great so that it is there for you to beat which would increase replayability. I agree with some previous comments about the difficulty increase being too sudden although it was entertaining! A gradual speed up would have been nice and if the music sped up too, that would be cool. Overall, a super cute game which was well polished! Well done!
May 17 21:09:53 16m 03s Tiny Drop ♥ 0 Really cute game with a very original concept and interesting take on the theme. The pixel graphics are super cute and the music matches the vibe well. Like previously mentioned, jump height felt very inconsistent making them difficult to time. Difficulty progression was very good and easy to learn as you went without need for descriptions or tutorial. I only noticed the time and drop size in the top right after a few runs since I was concentrating on the drop but having maybe the time come up on the screen when you dry up as a kind of score would be cool as I definitely wasn't watching that especially when I was almost dead. Overall, really cute game that I could see getting quite addictive if I had a high score I needed to beat!
