| Oct 5 22:54:10 | Ghost Cubed | ♥ 2 | Ah yes I was expecting someone to do Chronotron in 3D. Well done! | |
| Oct 6 12:20:38 | 13h 26m | Too Hot to Handle | ♥ 2 | Really well done, though it seemed to get stuck on year 5 for some reason, play/fastforward/pause seem to have no effect any more. I'm not sure if it was finishable anyhow since there was basically no water left. Also pausing the animations on pause would've been clearer to tell what's going on. |
| Oct 6 17:22:14 | 5h 01m | Project R.O.O.M | ♥ 1 | I don't know what the hell is in that corner but I'm totally freaked out :D Really well graphically polished and the retro pixel style fits very well, but the performance leaves something to be desired, with occasional slowdowns (I think I got dips under 30 fps on occasion). The bane of Godot until 4.0 arrives I suppose :P |
| Oct 6 21:15:43 | 3h 53m | Dynamics Corporation | ♥ 1 | TASK KOMPLEET! Ah overscoping, the staple of ldjams since the very beginning 😛 Still if you ask me this is in far more playable shape than some of the other stuff I've tried looking at. The voices and "story" is pretty well set up, even if it drags a little at the start. I think the extra explanation time would be justified for a more complicated task (and having it run during a simpler one to keep the player occupied), but there's only so much you can do in a jam. |
| Oct 6 21:30:18 | 14m 35s | Time to Act | ♥ 3 | *You have been in suspension for 9999999....* Kidding aside, this is a really well done for an edge of tomorrow style game. The voice acting is great, the clues are hidden well, but not too hard to find the controls and movement is good. Got it in 8 loops, forgot the engine room code in the previous one haha, the 420 69 is pretty easy to remember. I always wondered in those time loop movies how the main character remembers all the stuff so well. I guess now I know I'd waste extra loops forgetting stuff 😆 |
| Oct 6 22:24:37 | 54m 19s | BLACKLOOPHOLE | ♥ 2 | Interesting concept, and definitely hilarious with the spaceman yelling random hurt noises when getting hit by a bear over and over. The graphics probably won't be winning any awards overall (I think the style inconsistency with textures somewhere vs plain materials elsewhere is the main thing that makes it look kinda odd), but I am interested in the gravitational lensing black hole shader that grows over time, it's really well done. Any tips on achieving that effect? |
| Oct 7 10:29:47 | 12h 05m | Returning Home | ♥ 1 | Pretty nicely done, though the KSP nerd inside me was mildly disappointed it didn't involve actual orbital mechanics. First few rounds I basically died instantly getting hit in the face by asteroids but after I figured out the controls it was smooth sailing. After a while I had enough power to just fire constantly in a "beam" that cleaned asteroids as they hit it, maxed everything out and landed easily. I'm a bit biased as I mentioned, but I think the main improvement one could make here is to draw orbital lines and give the player an option to tweak their orbit by rotating the ship and firing thrusters. |
| Oct 7 10:45:01 | 15m 14s | Oops Loops | ♥ 1 | This one was really unique, I haven't seen this kind of technique applied in a game before. There does seem to be some green screen left over around textures, but it's not too jarring. Cool concept! And yes I did get killed by the snake and the picture haha |
| Oct 7 11:08:56 | 23m 55s | Crypted | ♥ 4 | A 2D game made in unreal engine? I never thought I'd see such a thing. Despite the absurdity of it, it's actually not bad if rather short. The vision area shadows are great and the voice acting fits. |
| Oct 7 11:17:50 | 8m 54s | RAIL LIES | ♥ 3 | Well it is an interesting concept, but the implementation leaves something to be desired. Maybe it would make sense to get a clue or something each time you pass through a car otherwise it's just trying random types of objects. There also seems to be some graphical glitching when you pass the door frames. |
| Oct 7 11:23:59 | 6m 09s | Colorful Memories | ♥ 2 | Gotta say the spherical shader is pretty neat 👍 |
| Oct 7 11:28:02 | 4m 03s | RoboBlast | ♥ 3 | Ooh oh ah oof, this is a too slow savage fatality. If you know what I mean. 😜 |
| Oct 7 11:34:03 | 6m 01s | The Road Taken | ♥ 1 | Ah yet another Godot game! Took me a second to figure out the loop idea, but it's pretty intuitive and fun to play. I only wish there were more levels, it would've probably be more worthwhile to spend more time on making different arrangements with the basic two elements than implementing the teleoport thingy that is kinda redundant since you can just make a sky bridge. |
| Oct 7 19:58:32 | 8h 24m | BoreOut! | ♥ 3 | Oh man so many props to use! I can't exactly figure out what constitutes as sus for the managers but they seem to be onto me very quickly. Best I got was 20 people remaining haha. Would be a pretty cool VR game I think. |
| Oct 7 20:06:52 | 8m 20s | Moby's Trip | ♥ 3 | Trippy 😄 I wonder if it would be possible to have actual physics based car driving, with perhaps leaving the car level and rotating and moving the track for the engine to handle it somehow. Definitely not a 3 day problem though haha |
| Oct 7 20:18:04 | 11m 12s | Ouroboros: The Cursed Hero | ♥ 2 | yourgod.png Where is your god now? 😛 |
| Oct 8 20:59:56 | 24h 41m | Leftfoot Louie | ♥ 2 | HA the police meter is straight out the original need for speed MW, nice! I think it has potential, but it really lacks some smooth camera movement and as pointed out by everyone else: audio. I think I got all of the years of community service. Perhaps I can serve them concurrently.... |
| Oct 8 21:10:07 | 10m 11s | Getaway Portal | ♥ 1 | No idea what's going on, but it plays and looks pretty great 😄 |
| Oct 14 23:09:17 | 145h 59m | Hyper Racer | ♥ 0 | The car and camera movement is really well done, it all feels exactly like those closed waterpark slide tubes. |
| Oct 15 12:03:40 | 12h 54m | SatOrbit | ♥ 2 | Won somehow after 8 sats, not sure what's the goal here exactly. In general I think it would be far better with about 2-3 times as long orbit predictions otherwise you're just guessing, and even better if the camera would follow the planet in relative rotation when you're aiming. At least you have unlimited delta v and enough TWR to kill a horse 1 megatimes over. |
| Oct 23 12:55:26 | 192h 51m | Killer Killer | ♥ 1 | Seems like you spent most of your time on animations and character movement then ran out time for the rest, so my suggestion for next time would be to set your scope in a more manageable way. And as the rest of the comments point out, the two of you have reviewed only 3 games in total. Edit: Oops was looking at the wrong number. |
| Oct 28 13:25:39 | 120h 30m | Everything is Garbage | ♥ 0 | So I noticed that the Obelisks don't actually produce any money, is that a bug or an intentional joke at bitcoin's expense haha |
