| Oct 5 23:18:11 | Sisyphus | ♥ 1 | The interesting mechanic of platforming with a boulder was hampered by the clunky and unpredictable controls. Perhaps it was intended for effect, but the end result was that it made the game unfun. | |
| Oct 6 00:08:53 | 50m 42s | 3 Minutes | ♥ 3 | Got stuck on the keypad. :/ |
| Oct 6 21:37:50 | 21h 28m | This House Looks Familiar | ♥ 1 | Really cool. I liked how it constantly held you on the edge of your seat. Walking the tight rope between happy and surreal and scary. It felt like something was wrong, but like the guy on the console, I'm also unsure what it was. |
| Oct 6 21:50:02 | 12m 12s | Loophole | ♥ 0 | It was kind of fun. I liked the elegance of it. The jarring death sequence detracted from the game though. Since the mood that you were going for doesn't seem to be hectic, perhaps it could be more forgiving or ease you in better. |
| Oct 6 22:04:02 | 14m 00s | I Will Eat A Apple | ♥ 2 | It was unnecessary for each stage to take 2 passes. Especially since the game starts you at the very beginning. It just lessens the impact. |
| Oct 6 22:08:39 | 4m 37s | Swingfinity | ♥ 0 | It's a great game and quite addictive. It would be greatly improved if block attachment wasn't as clunky. |
| Oct 7 21:30:09 | 23h 21m | Dank Dungeon | ♥ 1 | The variety of enemy movement is great. It's also cute how the hit numbers fall out of your enemies like blood. Fun little game! |
| Oct 7 21:53:08 | 22m 59s | lonely in space | ♥ 1 | The movement felt great. I want to know what happens if you fill your spaceship with little dudes, but I didn't find the last one :(. |
| Oct 8 07:51:55 | 9h 58m | False awakening | ♥ 1 | Fun. The game accomplished relatively a lot with relatively little. I love the little touches, like how weak the knife feels in its movements or the little tippy taps of the character. That said I had a lot of trouble understanding what I was supposed to do at the start of the game when you first encounter the black thing in the kitchen. It was hard to understand whether it was being damaged by the knife, since there was no audio indicator and the visual indicator was hidden by the flashes of blackness. It was all uphill from there though. |
| Oct 8 08:31:45 | 39m 50s | Void | ♥ 1 | A really cute experience. My favourite bit is the soundscape at the moment the helmet cracks. The lighting glitching through walls ruined the immersion a bit, but there wasn't much you probably could have done about that. I actually liked how grounded it was quite a bit. If instead of Earth it were some alien planet in the sky, the supernatural element wouldn't have had quite as strong as an impact. The surface of the object you're on could have been smoother for the same reason. The game didn't really hit the theme, but I see how it could. If you are developing this further, the mood would benefit from having a little more humanity in the scene. Something small and routine, like a coffee cup. |
| Oct 8 09:11:56 | 40m 11s | The Hidden Soul | ♥ 1 | It's really cool that you made this in a custom game engine. I'm also learning OpenGL for the first time, so it's interesting for me to see games made in it. I also like the core gameplay idea of having to switch between your lantern and your gun, but the execution itself is poor. There are these brief moments of input lag that you get after reloading or switching weapons, which may have been unintentional. It could have used an indicator that told you when you could shoot again. The start could have also been more clear. The instructions don't match the actual controls and there's no mention of the light mechanic. Because of the small room and the angle of the camera, the circle of light isn't really visible. I was stuck for 3 minutes trying to understand why I couldn't get through the door. |
| Oct 8 21:03:52 | 11h 51m | Stuck in a rabbit hole | ♥ 2 | Wow it's so pretty! |
| Oct 8 23:37:37 | 2h 33m | Impact Juggling | ♥ 1 | I like the way it looks. The background is simple but it does the trick for me. I also like how unlike in other ball and paddle, the addition of extra balls is all about juggling, not about power ups. Overall, the design feels clean and focused. |
| Oct 9 07:43:23 | 8h 05m | GOING FOR TAKEOUT WITH MY HOT WIFE | ♥ 1 | I have so many questions. Will my HOT WIFE'S hunger ever be sated? Will I be able to put on some music? Who is the guy in the red car? Hell in the truest sense of the word. |
| Oct 9 08:24:36 | 41m 13s | Imperial Eggnog Incorporated | ♥ 1 | I grew strangely attached to the quality control of eggnog. |
| Oct 10 07:19:23 | 22h 54m | Trials of the Twisted Timber Land | ♥ 1 | The slimes were somewhat unnecessary, but I suppose their purpose was to mislead the player into thinking they can kill the statues? Though it doesn't matter much, the health UI was unintuitive, because in video game language yellow means that you are at half health for that bar, but I suppose that was also done to subvert video game logic? 😄 There's also a sequence break in the game (for dev purposes I assume), you don't actually need to get a torch, because you already start out with one. My favourite moment in the game was right before then end, where I took the left looping path and reached the activation plate. I thought, "Huh, where am I gonna get a statue for this from." And then when I try to walk back, a statue is blocking my path. So overall I liked it. Mood and music were cool and the art and was refreshingly unique. |
