| Apr 23 22:13:53 | The Lake Of Horrors | ♥ 1 | I didn't seem to be able to catch any fish, could you go into a bit more detail on the controls? Rod seemed to get stuck a bit too. Game looks really nice though, and I like the combination of genres! Edit: Ok, thanks for the clarification! I like the animation and feel - just like an arcade game! Although i do think the rod is still a bit tricky to control. | |
| Apr 23 22:30:23 | 16m 30s | True Love Adventure | ♥ 0 | I like your drawings and the writing is pretty fun! But MAAAAN those hitboxes on the monsters are frustratingly big! It was too much to try and dodge them so I basically had to find a safe route and then repeat it 6 times, which I assume wasn't the aim. |
| Apr 23 23:52:01 | 1h 21m | They Came For The Chips! | ♥ 2 | Nice! I liked the artwork and the theme! The clicker aspect actually made a tower defence game pretty tense and exciting which I thought worked really well. Trying to rapidly click on jars while building a maze out of towers as fast as possible, I thought it was pretty fun! |
| Apr 25 22:30:49 | 46h 38m | Bullets of Insight | ♥ 0 | Nice game! I like the genre combination you made, it felt pretty good to orbit around through the bullets. Sound was good too, a real arcadey feel. I enjoyed it! :) |
| Apr 25 22:47:19 | 16m 30s | Burger Flipper | ♥ 1 | Wow, the darth taters are hard. Managed to defeat the first set but the second with the rockets too were tough. I liked it though, you kinda get into a rhythm which is pretty fun! I think some kind of graphical warning that they were about to fire would be good to add, but it was fun! The real time aspect was great to prevent spending ages on each turn :P |
| Apr 25 23:19:54 | 32m 35s | Deal Them 21 | ♥ 1 | Ayy, completed it! :) I liked their comments, pretty fun! I didn't realise what right click did at first and so I was trying to play blackjack 3 times haha.. But after figuring that out and getting the hang of it I thought it was a fun little mini game, good on you for getting back into LD! |
| Apr 26 23:04:48 | 23h 44m | Hats on Clouds | ♥ 1 | Nice, I completed it! Controls took a bit of getting used to, I think there needs to be some more friction, and some more acceleration, as it was quite difficult to get out of crashes and tight corners. Game looks pretty though, and I like the idea! It was really satisfying when I actually managed to pull off a flawless couple of loops around a tower to activate it! Not sure if it was just because of the practice, but I think the second level was actually easier than the first, maybe because of more towers. Also the music suited the game and was good to have in the background. Nice work! :) |
| Apr 26 23:25:24 | 20m 36s | Red Shirt Engineer | ♥ 0 | Ambitious game! I enjoyed it though (and finished it), and I like the potential too. I think it would be good to improve the graphics a little bit, because it was quite difficult to figure out which way you were moving (although i guess would be in real-life space). Secondly, I felt I was under pressure to do the logic, which is a good mechanic, but I couldn't tell how much pressure, so it would be good to add a health bar in that screen. And final point, I wish the puzzles went on for longer, I love the potential of how the time constraints might cause me to compromise on my logic design and then have to cope with it when controlling my ship, maybe by gradually introducing more complex systems with time. Anyway, all of this comes from me enjoying your game and considering the possibilities so please take don't take it as bashing! Nice concept and nice work! |
| Apr 27 00:15:11 | 49m 47s | Don't look at Greg | ♥ 0 | Wow, that was creepy. Fantastic atmosphere and great polish. I don't even know if Greg catching you did anything, I just knew I wanted to get away from that man. A well made short game, I'm not usually into this sort of 'tense' game so really got my heart pumping haha :P |
| Apr 27 19:59:50 | 19h 44m | HorrorGotchi | ♥ 2 | Creepy audio! In a weird way, the game is actually pretty cute, I like the way it plays with the ball and doesn't like to be washed :P Would be a fun thing to see expanded a little, just to reminisce over the old tamagotchis with a twist! Also the UI is really nicely drawn, pretty detailed for an LD entry! |
| Apr 27 21:17:44 | 1h 17m | Cinema Drive | ♥ 2 | That was pretty difficult! Like others have said it does really push the reality of texting and driving! Game-wise though, it would be good to have checkpoints of some sort, because the beginning can get a tad repetitive. I did enjoy reading the story as far as i got, quirky! Nice entry though, and good choice of theme! |
| Apr 27 21:38:55 | 21m 11s | Idle Shooter | ♥ 0 | Nicely done! I read your post-mortem too, and I think it pays to have done the animation the way you did, the easing functions really do look good, especially with the simple art style, it 'feels' great! The concept is fairly simple, but the quality and polish pays off, and you've made a really fun game! If I had one wish, it would be the ability to jump back down a level, because I think i bit off more than I could chew, especially when you lose ALL of your money when you die :P Good game! |
| Apr 27 22:23:55 | 45m 00s | Let's Not Make This Weird | ♥ 1 | Haha, I like the idea, and the instructions were funny (and accurate to what actually happens in films :P) I liked the shape-puzzle that underalyed the game, but I did think it could get a bit grindey when you were trying to get the tiles you needed. Promising prototype though, good entry! |
| Apr 27 23:57:34 | 1h 33m | Chrono Blaster | ♥ 1 | Nice one, made it to the end and I thought the difficulty curve was good, as well as the introduction of new enemies. For 9 hours, you managed to put in a decent amount of content! It was similar feeling to superhot, but that's not a bad thing, it felt a bit more strategic. I like the simple visual effects you used to help keep track of bullets. One small thing is that my mouse cursor didn't seem to bind into the game, so i kept clicking out, I think your engine should give an option somewhere to bind it to window, so would be worth using that. Nice entry! |
| May 2 23:21:00 | 119h 23m | Rockin' Horse | ♥ 1 | Do you ever get a better title than sir snail? Managed to get down to 57 seconds before I stopped :P I liked the rhythm of the game, its a nice twist to a cart-racer! Nice map too, and the music is very nicely done, suited it perfectly and some impressive work especially in the context of a jam. I really enjoyed this one, could obviously do with some polish, but a nice idea and a solid implementation |
| May 2 23:34:23 | 13m 23s | DragTypist | ♥ 1 | Phew, got 57.91 seconds, that was pretty tense and made me realise how my typing just collapses under pressure :P I liked the effort put into the polish, the sound and effects were really well put together. I think some kind of clearer UI would be good (with full screen colouring or something for overheating) because it was really difficult to keep track of everything while still staring at the target letter. Overall, a great entry, I enjoyed it :) |
| May 2 23:55:58 | 21m 35s | Between Dimensions | ♥ 1 | Wow, tricky! Nicely done! I like the concept, but thought it was quite disorienting to switch from 2d to 3d, and sometimes felt like my vision was flipped? Maybe some kind of transition animation would be good. It was challenging though, although i think tighter controls are important in a platformer. The visuals sometimes looked a bit janky in 2d mode, and tiles seemed to be clipping, but not sure if that's just for me. Congrats on making the Compo deadline too! |
| May 4 22:46:34 | 46h 50m | 7575 | ♥ 0 | "Relaxing game" - I think swearing helped, both in and out of game - I think I found 7575 :P Nice graphics, simple gameplay, the music was kinda annoying after a while but I think maybe it added to the mood of getting annoyed at pixel-cows. I think there was a glitch where going into the top left corner would shoot you to the right. Nice entry! :) |
| May 12 12:28:27 | 181h 41m | Mad King | ♥ 0 | I liked it! A nice concept which makes you think about risk management and making the most of opportunities - the random element really helps here. Graphics were simple but sufficient, and overall it was a simple but enjoyable game! (I like management games in general) Nice entry! |
| May 12 21:26:15 | 8h 57m | FRUIT-TYPE | ♥ 0 | Nice! I like the gameplay, it can get pretty tense trying to plant seeds, collect fruit and kill bots. The sound is also really nice with a cool musical feel. Very nice entry! |
| May 13 23:42:45 | 26h 16m | The Chamber | ♥ 1 | I agree with glimaleite, I like the mood and visuals, but it was a bit unclear what to do. In the end it seemed to be a lot of talking, and eventually i tried to run for the door but it closed and then ended. I was trying to play with the bars and they did seem to change colour so i'm not sure if there was something bigger? I think the controls could do with a bit of work too, as it was kinda clunky to have to cycle through different modes to move objects around. I think to do something like that, a style more similar to gary's mod would be smoother. I did like the voice, story and mood though, and the level looked good and was well made, nice entry! |
