| Dec 5 20:00:13 | ZhenCo Ghost Management | ♥ 1 | Hi! Really neat game idea! Here are my thoughts while playing: - Please add backspacing over multiple lines :D - Your game's description should possibly suggest only reading PDF as a reference stuck, the current wording made me feel like I should read it first. The PDF is much more intimidating than the game's in-built tutorial, and nearly scared me off! - A fast forward would be neat! - The menu button while playing could do with a "are you sure?" prompt, I clicked it looking for a fast-forward and lost my progress on a level! - I really like how the solution to "caution" is perfectly in theme to both your games name and competition theme! - I got stuck on "Collision Course" and lost steam playing the game Thanks for submitting it! :D | |
| Dec 5 20:12:46 | 12m 33s | Snake++ | ♥ 0 | The overall idea is neat, but combining snake with solving a maze you can see very little of is unfortunately very frustrating so I couldn't get past the second level :( |
| Dec 5 20:33:22 | 20m 36s | Mini Mystery | ♥ 1 | I like the idea of this game, but I seem to be unable to figure out how you win! I don't know what I'm looking for. I like the aesthetic, the police person is cute. I think it would be fairer/easier if you had a little log of things you've observed in the last 1 or 2 turns? I'd like to play a further developed version of this one day! |
| Dec 5 20:43:51 | 10m 29s | Dodge X | ♥ 0 | Cool idea, nice menu screen, interesting graphics, unfortunately I didn't understand how I was meant to avoid taking damage - the first two levels didn't really teach me anything about that, then the third level seemed to have some kind of attack pattern but I couldn't see the pattern forming because the shape was too big? so I was continually surprised by which pattern occurred, and couldn't dodge! otherwise neat game! :) |
| Dec 5 20:55:34 | 11m 43s | Crazy Trucker | ♥ 1 | cool idea! liked driving the truck generally, although it was really easy to roll and get stuck on scenery? but still fun! i wish there was some UI that told you where to get some crates? because I feel like I drove around the whole town two or three times and never found any crates. that said, I did accidentally dukes of hazard into one so hard that it disappeared so maybe I broke the game?? XD PS. the music really could've done with not being there :( |
| Dec 5 21:02:12 | 6m 38s | Get Wasted! | ♥ 1 | This was really short, but probably the most fun I've had so far reviewing these. I wish there were more levels! There were some issues where I didn't seem to be able to drink in some bars and there was no UI to explain why I wasn't able to drink? The progress bar wasn't full or anything, sometimes I just struggled to get the game to let me drink. Also, I really love the idea of reading all the comments for your game out of context later because the nature of the game makes talking about it really funny out of context! |
| Dec 5 21:09:46 | 7m 34s | PHOTOPSIA. | ♥ 1 | I really really enjoyed this! It had a really nice aesthetic, very self consistent, felt very polished. The music was really suitable, pleasing to listen to. The controls felt nice, the animation of the walking was good. Yeah this was awesome! The only problem I had was that sometimes I feel like the "NPCs" might've got glitched by the "fence"? Not sure! Also I felt a little unsure what was expected or being achieved at any given moment, but to be hones that didn't really detract from my enjoyment of the game! :D |
| Dec 5 21:21:02 | 11m 16s | Recycle | ♥ 1 | 56! Woo! Was fun, got hard real rapidly - not sure how you do better over time but I won't hold that against it! Maybe I just have to get faster reflexes or something! Good job! :) I love how intuitive this game is, too! |
| Dec 5 21:48:40 | 27m 38s | Gold Mania | ♥ 1 | Good fun little game, good potential for further development too! Some feedback I'd give includes: I don't think the run button is necessary, just run all the time? at the end of the level, the buttons fading in means you can't click them for a while, which is a bit frustrating. after about level 11, when the end of level screen comes up, all the text starts flickering on the "home or continue?" screen? also, i'm not sure what XP and levelling up is for? I couldn't tell if it was having any effect? I felt a little cheated at the end, I must say, since I played long enough to gain >3k gold, pressed the button and it just threw all my money away for no reward? Seems a bit cruel! but yes, ultimately, neat game :) |
| Dec 5 21:53:21 | 4m 41s | Zombie Salvation | ♥ 2 | Sorry, I haven't voted on this game, or played it. You've listed a team of people as having made this, which is not allowed by the COMPO rules. Only JAM games can be made by a team. |
| Dec 5 22:20:34 | 27m 13s | Sanguinite | ♥ 1 | This was amazing, I really enjoyed this. If I'd bought this as it is for a few pound on steam, I'd feel it was worth it easily. This feels like you could polish it up into an actual product :) The sound was nice, the graphics were good enough and self consistent. The flight controls felt VERY nice, and almost all upgrades felt instantly useful/tangible (except armour and pulse range/recharge, which were subtler). Really nicely done, congratulations! |
| Dec 5 22:40:49 | 20m 15s | Spiders | ♥ 0 | The graphics are good, and the premise is okay. The controls feel quite awkward: the animation of attacking seems to have no effect, it seems that killing spiders is actually a case of left clicking on them if they're in range, not hitting them with the newspaper model? Perhaps the attack should be some kind of swing in which all spiders in the path of the newspaper get killed? The game goes from boringly easy (first 100 spiders attacked) to pointlessly impossible (game spawns spiders every frame instantly, ending up with >3000 spiders in a minute or two). I think there could do with being a more gradual difficulty ramp, culminating in some kind of win/lose condition. Having it become simply impossible feels unfair as a player. It doesn't seem possible to lose (spiders don't hurt you or damage anything?) and it doesn't seem possible to win? I can't knock this too much as my game has no win condition, only a lose condition, but I think it's important to have one or the other! :) Hope this feedback helps, good work and thanks for submitting :) |
| Dec 5 22:51:51 | 11m 02s | ADM - Artic Ded Mazay | ♥ 1 | Neat idea, I found attacking the monsters quite confusing, it seemed a little uncertain whether an attack was going to kill an enemy or not. Also sometimes when I cut icebergs the penguins would run and jump onto the wrong piece at the last moment, drifting off into the ocean! The enemies (and the player model) are sometimes hidden beneath the iceberg somehow. It would also be super cool if you could fullscreen the game, or generally see more of the world at a time! Still, all that said, cool game! The sounds are good and the principle is good. I also like the penguins :3 |
| Dec 5 23:08:37 | 16m 46s | Pirate Cat | ♥ 1 | Cool idea, very interesting take! Bizarrely, there's a weird thing where when I launch your game it also launches Steam VR? If I close Steam VR it closes your game! It confused me for a moment, I thought for a second you'd made a VR game! I think your game might benefit from some kind of indication of your buoyancy/weight ratio or something? I found it difficult, after dropping ballast or venting air, to know how _much_ I'd changed my acceleration - because my current velocity was disguising my change? That felt frustrating somehow, not sure exactly how you solve it! |
| Dec 5 23:11:59 | 3m 22s | Pico Golf | ♥ 0 | Nice little game, nicely implemented. I'm not sure how it relates to the theme, but good job anyway - I particularly liked the music :)! |
| Dec 5 23:21:44 | 9m 45s | All-You-Can-Loot Cavern | ♥ 1 | Really nice application of the theme! A good variety of enemies and loot! I was a bit frustrated at the base weapon, and whilst the pop-up windows are an excellent interpretation of the theme they are an exceptionally irritating gameplay mechanic - sadly! I get that's kind of the point, though. It feels like perhaps the difficulty curve is either a bit steep or, perhaps, a bit too chaotic depending on what enemies happen to spawn? So that might need smoothing out! :) |
| Dec 5 23:30:23 | 8m 39s | Ice Cream Island | ♥ 1 | Nice game with nice graphics, I found the cutscenes with the seagulls a little frustrating quite quickly, especially from a replayability point of view! It would be nice to have some kind of UI warning that seagulls are coming from a given direction, so you have some way to prepare? Still, nicely done! :) |
| Dec 7 20:57:20 | 45h 26m | Leader's guidance | ♥ 1 | Hi! Really good mood here, though some sound would really add to that. The core idea is really neat, and is a pretty innovative interpretation of the theme which I like! I must admit that I found it a tad too repetitive and stopped at "get 3 steel bars", but I still like the overall experience :) |
| Dec 7 21:41:18 | 43m 58s | Team leader | ♥ 1 | Neat game, played it for ages, very "clicker-esque". I only stopped when I did because I think I broke the game, the super computer appeared and it got to week 15, and then after Sunday of that week days stopped appearing, and I was on week 15 forever? I don't really understand. I had more money than the UI knew how to display though, woo, being rich! :D Nicely done. Amusing to play, although the UI could do with some work - the main challenge of initially micro-managing your time is mostly difficult because of the UI, not because of the strategy/mechanical skill, so to speak - so taht could do with some work! Good job anyway :) |
| Dec 7 22:07:13 | 25m 55s | Usagi Story | ♥ 1 | Nicely done, I particularly like the ending, well played! :D I would really love to play with a controller though, the accuracy needed to face a rabbit to feed it/give it medicine was a little too finicky sometimes! |
| Dec 7 22:19:18 | 12m 05s | The Infernal Knowledge | ♥ 1 | Hi, amusing graphics and concept - nice work! I'm not really sure what to do though. What was the eye for? Does the game have any progress or lose condition? Anyway, nicely done, thanks for submitting! :D |
| Dec 8 17:20:35 | 19h 01m | Slightly annoying traffic | ♥ 1 | neat game! I felt like it'd be useful if there was some UI to help indicate whether cars were imminently on course to crash? also some extra collision noises would be nice! but still, pleasant and consistent graphics! :D nicely done! |
