| Dec 5 20:55:40 | Phool | ♥ 1 | Looks and feels really nice, great job! | |
| Dec 6 21:52:56 | 24h 57m | Birden | ♥ 1 | Nice compo game! I really got some Jazz Jackrabbit vibes from it somehow. I liked the idea of the mechanic with the multiple birds and how they tend to get distracted like cats causing havoc you don't want and how it makes you sort of think about how to control the birds. It's a shame you don't have any screenshots here on your LD page, it would definitely help people take the next step into actually downloading and playing the game I think. Great work for such a short amount of time! |
| Dec 6 22:05:13 | 12m 17s | Shifting Dreamscape | ♥ 2 | Looks great! Graphics remind me of Kirby on the NES. I like the creepy 'hand trees' too! |
| Dec 10 22:29:29 | 96h 24m | Asteroid breaker | ♥ 2 | Nice space mining game! Feedback: I think the controls are a bit too sluggish for my tastes. I don't mind acceleration buildup or indirect control over my character but this was just a bit too dragged out. I think if it was a bit more responsive then players would also feel more in control of their 'ball and chain' thing and more stimulated to try and really crush things with it. I would have loved to do that. The graphics are a tad minimal/simplistic too but they do work as a sort of homage to the classic Asteroid game and I do think it works for this kind of arcade / high score / stages type of game. |
| Dec 10 22:44:13 | 14m 44s | Robox! | ♥ 1 | Just gonna copy what I said on the public post; Love the handdrawn look! Reminds me of Machinarium a bit! That’s a good thing! I must admit that I’m glad I’m not an epileptic because the film effect is almost stroboscopic, I would recommend making the lightness of each frame a bit more similar so that it doesn’t flash as much. |
| Dec 10 23:38:39 | 54m 26s | Grooblins! | ♥ 1 | Good job! The graphical style reminds me a lot of Hylics by Mason Lindroth (or anything Mason Lindroth for that matter). And I used to have a tamagotchi as a kid and got really sad when it broke. |
| Dec 11 13:03:41 | 13h 25m | Manystar | ♥ 1 | I think you did a great job. I've seen Asteroids-inspired entries for LD40 made with more people that had worse graphics and much worse controls. The controls of your game actually feel surprisingly fluid and responsive. Compo is hard. Don't be to harsh on yourself for not finishing it in time. You learn, and then you are better prepared in the next jam! Keep up the good work! |
| Dec 11 14:01:01 | 57m 20s | Mayfly | ♥ 1 | Wow, sometimes I forget how much can be done with some basic text and effects. Definitely deserving of a high ranking. I do honestly hope nothing in this story has any basis in reality :P One critique I have is that it kind of took a bit too long for my tastes for the story to 'take off'. But I understand there's also a kind of magic to that... and you don't want to destroy it by revealing things too early. Maybe some days just felt too tedious or something. I don't know. |
| Dec 11 14:21:01 | 20m 00s | Run Guys | ♥ 2 | A simple interpretation of the theme that reminds me that I always overcomplicate everything. I liked how they all had names! Nice job! |
| Dec 12 00:15:41 | 9h 54m | Unnatural Occurrences | ♥ 2 | Pretty impressive in terms of amount of content. I like the atmosphere as well. Feedback: It would have been nice to have a bit more of a tutorial or guide during the first playthrough because I really didn't know what to do at first. |
| Dec 12 00:28:33 | 12m 52s | Sushi Factory Frenzy! | ♥ 1 | This cannot work with the theme... because it is NEVER A BAD THING to have A LOT OF SUSHI ;) Seriously got super hungry playing this. I liked how your graphics have a quite clear palette... with mostly grayscale colors with the greens and reds popping out very clearly. I also liked the almost flat-design like environment. Well done! |
| Dec 12 00:33:08 | 4m 35s | crowglary | ♥ 0 | Love the responsive grass and how nice the characters feel to walk around with. Great stuff! |
| Dec 12 00:37:52 | 4m 44s | PHOTOPSIA. | ♥ 1 | Nice minimalistic style! Although I would recommend not trying to fuse it with traditional pixel art. But maybe that's just my personal opinion. Great job overall! |
| Dec 12 12:04:19 | 11h 26m | Flips! | ♥ 0 | Great job! I also love how polished this looks (my compliments to Horacio). The notepad-style font doesn't really do it much justice though, but I think picking a good font can be time consuming and I can understand if you decided not to invest much time in that department. The game itself is actually a lot of fun too and satisfying to play, you guys should definitely try to get this on the market! |
| Dec 12 12:40:08 | 35m 49s | Shovelware Knight | ♥ 1 | I had a good giggle! It's definitely got relevant subject matter and a nice interpretation of the theme. 5/5 Would pollute and oversaturate the market again! I think our jam entry currently perfectly fits the 'walking simulator' category of games you so hatefully elaborate upon in your description so I deserve extra points in shovelware-knighthood. Take notes people! Good job and keep 'em coming! |
| Dec 12 13:55:38 | 1h 15m | Mizu | ♥ 1 | Interesting concept! Lots of possibilities with the mechanic. It's kind of like a 2D Super Mario Sunshine. Maybe it would be spectacular if you could spit some of your water like a supersoaker or something like that, to use as a weapon as well as a puzzle mechanic. Feedback: The first part of second level was really frustrating to me. The part where you have to collect the water where the enemy is walking, maybe I had the wrong idea that my glass had to be completely full to be able to press the switch, haven't tried it halfway-full. Maybe I just suck at this kind of game but I kept dying there and stopped playing. :( Overall great job keep up the good work! |
| Dec 12 14:32:43 | 37m 05s | BattleTennis DX Ultra Super | ♥ 1 | Damn this is a pretty great Compo entry! I agree with the previous comments that some tutorial would have been helpful. But overall good job keep it up! |
| Dec 12 16:15:26 | 1h 42m | Cloud Love | ♥ 0 | Nice idea, I loved the art and sound too. Great mood! Some advice: Upload some screenshots in the description and also provide a web build. Most LD-ers won't even bother installing games. Some feedback: I didn't exactly know how to make the boat float more? Do I have to miss the boat with my rain so that it doesn't drown? I tried to avoid the boat but then it just sailed away at some point, no idea how to succeed. Anyway I love the concept and atmosphere! Great job! |
| Dec 12 16:28:05 | 12m 39s | Drugrun | ♥ 1 | Loving the artstyle and the sleazy garage metal. \m/ Much respect this game is f*cking amazing! |
| Dec 13 15:16:02 | 22h 47m | StackUp | ♥ 2 | Cool game! Loving the favela-type buildings in the environment! |
| Dec 13 16:43:28 | 1h 27m | Yarn the Kittens | ♥ 0 | Great game! Good job! Cute style and sound! Very well-rounded jam entry! |
| Dec 13 16:47:38 | 4m 10s | Sugarplum Summit | ♥ 1 | Really well done! Great LD entry! I like how this game has a very unorthodox artstyle for this type of gameplay. With a little bit of extra attention you could easily release this commercially. |
| Dec 16 09:17:45 | 64h 30m | Samurai Shaver | ♥ 1 | Might be the best entry I've seen so far. Unbelievable you guys managed to do this AND another game entirely. I always get hyped when I hear that classic Kabuki 'yooo' intro haha. |
| Dec 27 21:09:40 | 275h 51m | Yuri The Greedy Spaceman | ♥ 0 | Nice compo entry! Keep it up! |
