| Aug 28 18:55:00 | Heat Ray Defense | The art is pretty funny, and the effect on the water is cool. I wish the beams went all the way to a 90 degree angle though, because it's frustrating when a ship hasn't reached the land yet but I can't hit it. Held my attention for longer than I expected. | |
| Aug 28 19:00:00 | 5m 00s | Get On The Horn | Clever interpretation of the theme. I expected it to work like most flip phones I've seen where if you want to type two letters one after another on the same button you just have to wait a few seconds for it to register, but having a next button probably lets you type faster. |
| Aug 28 19:16:00 | 16m 00s | Call of the Ancients | Excellent, although for me the console scrolls back to the top every time it prints something out, which made it hard to read the messages at the end. Did not expect an ARG from ludum. |
| Aug 28 20:08:00 | 52m 00s | Xolotl | The mechanic is fun and the art/animation is super slick. Love the particles in the red fields. Seems a tad on the hard side but maybe I'm just bad at it. |
| Aug 28 20:51:00 | 43m 00s | City of Words | I was really bad at this, got to 1648 but only with several hints. Seems like it would do nicely on android. The text was a bit blurry but still very legible. |
| Aug 28 20:57:00 | 6m 00s | Ogg and the Obelisk | The number background is really cool, and the rest of the art is good as well. Sort of feels like I'm missing something though. |
| Aug 28 21:04:00 | 7m 00s | Revolution Wheel | Surprisingly hilarious. The music loop during the gameplay gets old really fast, though. |
| Aug 28 21:14:00 | 10m 00s | Protetorium | The art and animation is excellent, and the gameplay is fun for a short while but if there's more to it it should maybe come a little faster because I don't think most people will play it for that long. Maybe I'm just lazy though. |
| Aug 28 21:23:00 | 9m 00s | The Switch - Worker | The 3d effect is very cool looking, and this is a pretty well detailed game for how quickly it was made. The boss is a nice touch. Had one time where I had to make a connection (it was 3M) and it seemed like it wouldn't let me but maybe I did something wrong. |
| Aug 28 21:31:00 | 8m 00s | Super Paddle Ball | I love the little touches like the particles and the way the score number bounces a little bit when you get points. It's unfair how much fun this is for how simple it is. |
| Aug 28 21:54:00 | 23m 00s | The Chosen One | Very cool idea to use telnet. Didn't play a whole lot because it takes so long to get anywhere, but it seems to work pretty well. I appreciate the little pickups that add to the story. |
| Aug 28 22:57:00 | 1h 03m | Old Tales of a Legendary Fish | The art is really nice, I particularly like some of the effects on the water. The background audio is also very pleasant. Much like fishing, not a lot happens but you enjoy it anyway because it's so peaceful. |
| Aug 28 23:08:00 | 11m 00s | Chariot Arena Battle | The movement controls are quite responsive although I find it very hard to aim. The netcode also seems to work fairly well, which is impressive considering the time limit. |
| Aug 29 00:32:00 | 1h 24m | A little tower. | Seems like it's taking a really long time in between waves where nothing happens. The art isn't perfect, but it's cute, and the clouds/sky look really nice. |
| Aug 29 00:52:00 | 20m 00s | Inventions Through Time | The game is neat (the drawings of each invention are great), but I really just wanted to say that the animated green monster logo on your site is awesome. |
| Aug 29 01:21:00 | 29m 00s | A Decent Game With A Great Soundtrack | The title is fairly accurate. The music has a lot more effort put into it than most other LD games (i.e. it's not just a 5 second loop), though its a bit too modern-sounding for the "ancient" theme imo. The game itself is fun, although it seems like most of the difficulty comes from if you can mash the buttons fast enough (which I can't). It also would have been nice if the stone was a different color from the ground so it stood out more, but overall it's a fun game. |
| Aug 29 02:09:00 | 48m 00s | evolver - tinder for evolution | I really like the concept, but it would be nice if there was more content. Right now there's not a lot to it. |
| Aug 29 03:38:00 | 1h 29m | Sumer Game | The controls/mechanics work well enough (probably not so well on a touchpad but that's true of most things.) I don't have the patience to do 3 whole tablets. I feel like it should be scored line by line, and maybe have a time limit or some other way to add challenge. Perhaps the clay will lose the imprint if you wait too long? |
| Aug 29 15:47:00 | 12h 09m | The Stones of Kelzi | Very nice. The art is good (I like that there's more than one tree sprite) and I love the little musical cues when you find a book. The combat seems quite easy as long as you keep your distance, but it works. It would have been nice if the ground had a subtle texture to it. This seems like it could be turned into a full length game if you wanted to. |
| Aug 29 16:31:00 | 44m 00s | Lighthouse - Illuminate to rescue! | The light looks really cool, and the rest of the art is good as well. The puzzles are fairly interesting, but I'm not sure the time limit really adds anything because you just restart right away (which is better than starting all over again, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't really affect the player.) |
| Aug 29 17:26:00 | 55m 00s | Castle Siege | I like the idea. The graphics are functional if not especially interesting, but they are far from ugly. Some sound would be nice, although I admit it would be quite hard to make a canon sound from scratch. I wish it was mouse controlled. |
| Aug 29 18:26:00 | 1h 00m | Battle of the Blades | Pretty fun. The character models are nice and the cutscene when you win is a nice touch. I like that you get two weapons, but I found the bow aiming too sensitive. |
| Aug 29 18:37:00 | 11m 00s | Aqueducts | A simple game, but a fun one. Using a ball to model the water seemed odd to me at first but it works and the water actually looks pretty cool. |
| Sep 1 03:28:00 | 56h 51m | The Tomb | I spawned on top of some spikes, but other than I don't think I found any bugs. Beat it after a few tries, but I'm not sure if I just got lucky. Art/textures were good, the bricks on the floor are particularly nice. Would be scarier if the lighting fell off all the way (so you couldn't see all the way to end of a hallway). Genuinely creepy. Good job. |
| Sep 2 16:38:00 | 37h 10m | Back to Nature | The art is quite nice (I particularly like the logo). Sometimes it's a little bit hard to see the gauges under the characters. As many others have noted, it seems really hard, but that makes sense because if it was too much easier it would get boring. |
| Sep 3 23:54:00 | 31h 16m | Artifact of the Ancients | The art is quite well done, as is the music. I found the gameplay confusing, mainly because I didn't really get how the crates worked until very late in the game. There's a series of games called SHIFT that has a similar mechanic, and honestly I like their implementation better. I also didn't really care for the story, because it seemed a little too "in your face". I wish it was longer, but that's true of most LD games, and it really just means you did a good job with the puzzle mechanic. |
