| Aug 24 14:27:00 | Grave | While it doesn't innovate much, it is very solid at what it does. The fluid animations and the screenshakes make the game feel very impactful. Was also fun to notice the enemies do friendly fire as well.

Fine work, skeleton! | |
| Aug 24 15:09:00 | 42m 00s | Sucker Punch | Love the over the top chaos that inevitably ensues from the debris, explosions and ship fire. Makes it a bit hard to see the things that hurt you, but that's just part of the fun.

Also the orchestra mode was a good laugh. Nothing quite like punching ships to some Wagner.

Overall a solid arcade game. Fine work! |
| Aug 24 16:01:00 | 52m 00s | Bridge Dweller | The concept is very nice. I like the idea of being the troll under a bridge and having to prey on the weak to get stronger.

The controls seem to go unresponsive whenever an enemy is walking on the bridge. If it's intentional the UI should probably indicate this in some way.

It seems like the enemies in green clothing can sniff out your location from miles away and will just stand on the other river bank and fire arrows at you regardless if you're hiding or showing. Surely it is a bug and unfortunately it is game ending whenever it happens. |
| Aug 25 23:15:00 | 31h 14m | Wastelands | "This is only my second LD and I apparently didn't learn from the first time. I got too ambitious and ran out of time."

I know the feeling. We'll learn.. some day! ..maybe. Good luck with developing it further. |
| Aug 25 23:39:00 | 24m 00s | Edge of Grey | I like the aesthetic of the game and just exploring the castle is interesting enough. Definitely some Dark Souls vibes going on there.

I can see where you were going with the combat, but unfortunately the combat mechanics seem a bit all over the place, which makes the combat feel unresponsive. Some audio or visual feedback upon taking and delivering damage would probably go a long way in improving the feel of it. |
| Aug 25 23:53:00 | 14m 00s | Trump Presents America® | Anyone playing this should look up the Team America theme song on youtube and start the game and the song at the same time. It makes for a beautiful symbiosis. |
| Aug 26 02:26:00 | 2h 33m | Growing Up | Well this sure brought up old addictions. Used to play the snake game on my first cell phone far more than I would like to admit. It may have taken an hour or two, countless of tries and crippled my arrow hand, but I did become The Serpent that Devours the Horizon on the luminous celerity difficulty.

While it's not very innovative, it is as far as snake clones go a good one. The quick turns are effortless to pull off, which as far as im concerned is the most important thing in a snake game. Fine work. |
| Aug 26 02:44:00 | 18m 00s | BreakoutBeast | Really dig the art style. Avoiding damage is maybe a bit too hard. |
| Aug 26 03:05:00 | 21m 00s | Monster Need Friend Too | Wasn't quite clear on how I should choose the line of rhetoric at first, but I think I picked up on it as I went along. In the end I guess finding out more about the person or just choosing randomly is a bit of a gamble either way.

Some of the dialogue was pretty amusing and I like the art style. Strangely the humans look rather unnerving with their dead, soulless eyes whereas the monster looks like a nice fellow. |
| Aug 26 03:45:00 | 40m 00s | Earth Was a Bad Choice | Yepp.. That was great through and through. |
| Aug 26 03:51:00 | 6m 00s | City Smash! | That was a wild ride. The over the top, explosive action made it fun to play. I enjoyed playing it far more than I thought I would by just looking at it. |
| Aug 27 01:34:00 | 21h 43m | Drack's Mansion | Lovely pixel art. Gameplay was smooth and the controls solid. Sound effects were maybe a bit too.. how to put it.. piercing? Made my ears hurt after a while. |
| Aug 27 02:19:00 | 45m 00s | Electro Magnetic Purge | I really liked the atmosphere and the concept of the game. The moment you go from roaming around slowly on foot to flying around with the thrusters simply felt great.

The game should also somehow indicate you are doing damage to the enemies when you shoot at them. I actually walked away from the first enemy I tried shooting at after a few shots thinking I probably can't kill it.

The camera switches when being pulled by new planets were super disorienting. I get motion sickness easily in games where the controls don't feel quite right or the game does something funky to disorient you and after about 10 minutes of playing this I was starting to feel it come on and had to stop playing.

The controls would need to be tighter and the camera switches would absolutely have to go for me to be able to play a game like this for a prolonged period of time. I may be an extreme case in this sense, but people that get motion sickness is an important group to think about when you are making a game that could in one way or another be disorienting. Generally first and third person games, that don't have a fixed up axis, fall under this category. There really is no bigger buzz kill than a game you cannot play because it makes you feel physically ill.

Don't get me wrong. I like what you have created here. I simply cannot play it for long. |
| Aug 27 02:30:00 | 11m 00s | Me | Very artsy. As promised it did end very abruptly and left me wanting more. |
| Aug 27 02:55:00 | 25m 00s | Manifest Destiny | I liked the graphics and how the game made me feel like a horrible person. Then again I didn't have a choice. Even if I scored 0 in everything it changed nothing. I feel you should have either given the player a choice or forced their hand by a failure state. I tried to do the right thing okay? Game wouldn't let me. I guess you can't change history.

Nice take on the theme.

OH! and the loudness of the attack sound destroyed my ears. You ought to put a warning on here about that. |
| Aug 27 03:49:00 | 54m 00s | They're Escaping! | Very basic game. Press down space and you can never lose. There needs to be some challenge to it. Lower fire rate and maybe some distance between the target and the firing point so that accuracy is required.

I didn't actually realize it was Hitler and jews you were portraying there until I read the description after playing it and I have to say I liked the game a tad bit more before reading it. Humor depends a whole lot on context and there is no context here. If you pick a subject as touchy as Hitler and xenophobia and fail to give it any context, you are simply going to offend a lot of people. It's just Hitler shooting jews that are attempting to escape, which is actually more tragic than it is funny.

You should also move the proper download link from the comment to the download links on the entry page if you actually want people to play it. There is an "Edit entry" link at the top of the entry page that lets you do that. |
| Aug 27 03:59:00 | 10m 00s | Run Ogre, Run! | I like the concept with the angry mob and all. Graphics are nice and the sound effects were amusing. The game has that "one more try, I can do better" feel to it, which is key in runner games. Fine work. 750 was my best. |
| Aug 29 01:06:00 | 45h 07m | Boss M.O.B. | I like the graphics and the concept. Only wish there were more ways to deal with the raiders. I feel the game would be better suited for higher cooldown abilities, that you have to time correctly and use tactically, rather than abilities like Q where it is just a matter of how fast you can spam it. I had to stop playing before I reached 40 heroic simply because my hand was getting too sore from spamming Q. |
| Aug 29 01:15:00 | 9m 00s | Mash It Down | Love the low poly style graphics. Gameplay was actually harder than I imagined. Took a moment to get to grips with the controls and the collisions. Nice take on a break out game. |
| Aug 29 01:26:00 | 11m 00s | A Meal For The Gods | Really liked the art style. Throwing physics objects with some weight to them is always a good time if you ask me. Some of the lines of the sacrificial villagers were pretty amusing. Fine work. |
| Aug 29 02:30:00 | 1h 04m | Executioner | I like the fact you've listed the perpetrator's family. While having no effect whatsoever in the gameplay, it does a lot to make the player think about the weight of the decision and the inevitable effects of it on the lives of others.

The game is thought provoking for sure and that I enjoyed. The ending was a bit of a let down as I was hoping for something a bit more elaborate. Either way heres some food for thought for you or anyone wanting to pursue a concept like this further.

Morality is always a hard subject to handle and I feel the game's stance, which basically states that sparing a human life is always good compared to taking it, is a far too simplistic approach. Some would argue sparing the life of a serial killer that has killed over a hundred people is not moral and in that person's eyes the person making the decision is not a good person at all.

Also the available decisions are both very drastic and in some cases seem like total overkill for the alleged crimes. The player has very little information to go by and has no way of determining even if the final statement for the perpetrator is true or false. If I was in a real situation making these decisions with this amount of available information, I'd quit the job.

The real problem, with having the game make the judgment call between if you are good or bad, is the fact that even if there was actual simulation, if the player had more information and the available range of sentencing was wider, the outcome would still be based in the morals of the person writing the simulation and the morals of the society he or she lives in. So even if the game tells me I am a monster, that is only a fixed viewpoint at the matter.

Also sentencing is typically based on law which is most of the time (but not always) based on ethics of the society. So maybe the question should not be what the punishment should be, because that would be dictated by the crime, but instead, with more information available, which of the alleged crimes is the perpetrator truely guilty of? |
