| Dec 8 07:45:00 | EGOS | A solid arcade game and an overall fun game. Couldn't stop playing til I had conquered the leaderboard. Nice job. | |
| Dec 8 08:41:00 | 56m 00s | OUTRANGE | I like the clean minimalistic aesthetic. Very nice. |
| Dec 8 08:52:00 | 11m 00s | Super Meat Ball | Controls were a tad confusing at first. Liked the graphics and audio. Very nice. |
| Dec 8 09:04:00 | 12m 00s | Border31 | I really enjoyed the game. It has sort of a bullethelly thing going on that puts your spatial awareness to the test and makes you pay for your mistakes. Definitely a nice concept. |
| Dec 8 19:51:00 | 10h 47m | Worse Than before | Essentially a clicker game. I'm assuming the game has no win state having got up to hundreds of thousands of score without anything changing beyond getting access to motors. Could use a carrot at the end of the stick. It's a nice start though. |
| Dec 8 20:32:00 | 41m 00s | Razor Dodgor ( Razer Dodger) | Quite liked how it controls. As people before me have mentioned; should look in to hosting this on dropbox or somewhere else and embed it on the site. |
| Dec 8 20:50:00 | 18m 00s | Zroom | The frustration is real. Having to watch the zoom out animation every time you die became pretty jarring after a couple of times. Would have liked just a quick restart of the level instead. Nice take on the theme though and overall a nice game. I did beat it eventually. |
| Dec 8 21:15:00 | 25m 00s | Metal Killer Bee vs. The Gangstas | A fun game to play. Pretty challenging as well. On most runs I struggle to break ten kills, but managed to score 24 as my highest. Nice clean aesthetic. Good job overall. |
| Dec 8 21:36:00 | 21m 00s | p0cm0n | Controls a bit weird and you tend to miss the gums at intersections if you hug the walls. The weirdness of the controls is amplified by the speed mode making it pretty hard to make most out of it. Nevertheless it's still a pretty enjoyable game. I think -67 was my best score. |
| Dec 8 21:46:00 | 10m 00s | Squareon | Enjoyable game. Unfortunately I am blind as a bat when it comes to colors and simply cannot tell some of them apart. Could use a color blind mode. |
| Dec 8 22:05:00 | 19m 00s | Orbitals | A very fun game. Took me a while to figure out I can kill spawners by moving in to them. I like the difficulty of it. |
| Dec 8 22:29:00 | 24m 00s | BACKACHA | Nice take on a rhytm game. Quite challenging for my single track mind. |
| Dec 8 23:57:00 | 1h 28m | Don't Stop | Overall a very solid platformer making good use of the theme. Enjoyed it. |
| Dec 9 00:53:00 | 56m 00s | Box | I love how you can pick everything apart. Took me a while to figure out how to escape the spawn. Makes good use of the theme. Solid little sandbox to play in. |
| Dec 9 01:05:00 | 12m 00s | Frosty Ninja | Now that was a good laugh. |
| Dec 9 05:10:00 | 4h 05m | 0000 : Press Z | Solid game. It simply felt whole from start to finish. Really liked the simple aesthetic. Definitely among the better games I've tried so far.

The only gripe I've got with it is getting thrown in to already finished levels quite a lot towards the end. It got pretty frustrating as I was yet to finish only one of the levels. I understand you could maybe use the position of your death on the finished levels to make the unfinished ones easier, but you can never be sure that's where you'll end up next. Making it throw you in to an unfinished level at least every second time would be nice. |
| Dec 9 05:27:00 | 17m 00s | GYMJA | A very fun game. Gets real challenging real quick. |
| Dec 9 17:16:00 | 11h 49m | PhotoBound | That is a very clever mechanic that makes good use of the theme. Game looks and sounds nice. Solid game all around. Great job. |
| Dec 9 19:13:00 | 1h 57m | Silian Rail | Quite enjoyed spreading rumors about my coworkers. Nice stuff. |
| Dec 9 19:22:00 | 9m 00s | Twisted Fantasie | The game is a lot to take in. Still not quite sure I fully understand how you're supposed to play it. |
| Dec 9 19:37:00 | 15m 00s | One life hero | Nice little dungeon crawler. Could use more things to do. Random dungeon generation is cool. |
| Dec 9 19:48:00 | 11m 00s | SoundWaves | Game looks and sounds nice. Could use some kind of feedback upon the bullets hitting the speakers. At first I wasn't sure if I was damaging them or not. |
| Dec 9 20:01:00 | 13m 00s | Carrot Chaos | I think I got 28 carrots on my best run before I got surrounded by snowmen who then proceeded to play pong with my character. Could use pathfinding for the snowmen. Enjoyable game anyway. |
| Dec 10 16:43:00 | 20h 42m | Forever Falling | Not much to add that hasn't already been said by others. Controls feel good. Love the level transition animation with the slow motion as the next level phases in bit by bit.

Biggest gripes I've got with it have to do with level design combined with the unforgiving difficulty. The first three levels were easy (apart from maybe if you try to max your score) whereas I hit a wall with the difficulty on the fourth level. Having to start all the way from the beginning became very frustrating and the three first levels simply felt like a chore to get to try the fourth one again. It took me far less time to fail the fourth level than to get there all over again.

Nevertheless its a fun game with cool design. Nice work! |
| Dec 10 17:12:00 | 29m 00s | Papercuts | I loved everything about it. Found myself playing it for quite a while to exhaust all the lines and random encounters. Loved the surreal dreamlike aesthetic of the game. Great work! |
| Dec 10 17:46:00 | 34m 00s | A Programmer's Life | Described my limited professional experience as a programmer to some extent. Trying to keep different parties satisfied while feeling the weight of the world coming down on you. I like the concept and with some balancing it could be a really fun game for those who can relate anyway. The panning music was horrible though. Had to mute it. |
| Dec 10 18:03:00 | 17m 00s | Coin Collectorâ„¢ | I like the graphics and the music is pretty chill. I feel the game would benefit from having some kind of a HUD even if its just a simple healthbar especially since there is no feedback when you take damage. At first I thought I was invincible as you can tank up quite a bit of damage before you lose the game. Fun game though. |
| Dec 10 18:15:00 | 12m 00s | Sawrvive | Took a while to get used to the controls, but once I got in to grips with them it was quite fun. |
| Dec 11 05:25:00 | 11h 10m | Broken Turrets | Love the aesthetic and the run animation of the player character. Difficulty could be a little more forgiving. Feels like you can't run through the cannon fire at all without losing at least some of your hp. Fire rate could be turned down or the turrets could turn a bit slower. Nice concept though and with some tweaking could be a very fun game. |
| Dec 11 06:34:00 | 1h 09m | Abelian | I like the visual style. Randomization helps keep it fresh to some extent even though it makes the score a moot point as not everyone has the same experience. Sound design was a tad too aggressive for my taste. |
| Dec 11 07:11:00 | 37m 00s | Block Dungeon | One of my favorites so far. Looks, feels and sounds great. Blowing stuff up is satisfying as it should be. Only thing I missed was a bit of screen shake. |
| Dec 11 07:45:00 | 34m 00s | Save The Cities | At first it seemed very hard to keep track of everything on the screen and the cooldowns of the cannons, but once I figured out you only have to keep one of the cities alive and should focus on seeing the essential, as in the missiles that are actually on a trajectory to hit a city or a cannon, it became perhaps even too easy.

Really liked the pixel art and the audio fit in very well. Overall an enjoyable experience. |
| Dec 11 20:02:00 | 12h 17m | Cube Shooter 31 | Like the music and graphical style. Gameplay could use some kind of feedback effects upon things dying off and bullets hitting things. When they simply disappear it just feels kind of meh. Nice work though. |
| Dec 11 20:18:00 | 16m 00s | Mobster Massacre | I like the mouse only control scheme of it. Weapon spawns could be a tad more frequent since the ammo on them is very low anyway. Overall fun game. |
| Dec 11 20:38:00 | 20m 00s | The life game | Some good level design there that actually required timing and precision. Not quite sure if the ending is supposed to mean something. If so; I didn't get it. Overall fun experience though. |
| Dec 11 23:14:00 | 2h 36m | Unity Ascension | I went in blind without reading the description first and it was quite hard to figure out what was going on especially since I was playing all the way from europe and the lag was immense. Numbers all over the place and no break in the action to keep track of them.

After reading the description and watching the gameplay video it makes a whole lot more sense. While playing I completely missed there was a healthbar at all. I must have mistaken it for the "eyes" of the characters.

While playing I initially had no idea it was multiplayer. I figured the online thing was about leaderboards or something along those lines. I was joined by a blue fella and after figuring out it was another player I felt a certain connection there despite our limited ability to communicate. Perhaps the limitations on the communication are what created the feeling of a connection. Either way it was fun trying to figure out what was going on alongside someone else.

Having pulled off a functional online multiplayer for a LD entry is also pretty impressive. Solid entry overall. I had fun with it. |
| Dec 11 23:22:00 | 8m 00s | MINIMALISTIC MASSAGE (squirrels in space) | I played against myself and somehow managed to only lose. Can imagine this being a fun competitive game with some improvements to the controls. They felt too slippery for my taste. |
| Dec 11 23:35:00 | 13m 00s | shootAbox | Congrats on first game. Its a good start. |
| Dec 11 23:44:00 | 9m 00s | One screen Labyrinth | It works. Some of the levels really put you to the test with how much ground you have to precisely cover to make it making it pretty challenging. |
| Dec 11 23:51:00 | 7m 00s | Octogonal Switcher | My brain couldn't quite handle the controls when upside down. It is an interesting mechanic though. Not sure if I have any ideas on how to improve it. The sprites are far too tiny. Took me a while to even find my character. |
| Dec 12 00:01:00 | 10m 00s | Owl'd Hurricrash | An owl diving after fish? What kind of madness is this!? In all seriousness the wind is so hard and everything moves so fast that its very hard to score at all. I found my best bet was to try and hover at some point and hope some coins hit me in the face.

Concept is good though and with some tweaking it could be a very fun game. I did have fun with the game even as it is. |
| Dec 12 00:34:00 | 33m 00s | Moving Melody | Not really as much a rhythm based game as a game with some rhythm in the background. The game would also benefit a lot from random level generation. Nice pixel art. |
| Dec 12 00:40:00 | 6m 00s | Squadron Commander | I found trying to micro manage the three ships next to impossible. I felt my best bet was to grab one and play the game with that. It was rather fun though. |
| Dec 12 17:03:00 | 16h 23m | Screen Pong | Very challenging once the ball speeds up a bit. I like this take on the original. Quite fun. |
| Dec 12 19:02:00 | 1h 59m | Rome's Little Step | This is more or less what I had in mind as well as my first idea after the theme was announced. I ended up making something different though.

I do like the concept. It fit very well with the theme. Love the sound effects.

The shield mechanics seem inconsistent. Sometimes the enemies don't seem to get stunned as they hit my shield so they will keep spamming attack. At that point all I can really do is bumrush face and hope I get the timing right in between its attacks. |
| Dec 14 19:09:00 | 48h 07m | Pixel Platform | Game reminded me of Al Pacino's speech from the movie Any Given Sunday. Inch by inch, play by play, climbing out of hell. So I listened to the speech while playing the game aaaaaand.. nope. Couldn't make it past the first level of obstacles. Even Pacino couldn't motivate me to do it.

Not much to add to what has already been said here. Character was hard to see, collisions weren't that accurate and the instant death and respawn with no feedback was a bit confusing.

Did anyone ever actually beat this game? |
| Dec 17 00:27:00 | 53h 18m | Garden of Brewery, Science and Malice | Confusing at first, but quite fun once you know what you're supposed to do. I like how you have to balance protection and resource generation. I wasn't a huge fan of the actual resource collection mechanic though. After a while I was just swinging my mouse around my plants wildly as a lot of the resources tend to end up out of sight behind the plants. At some point it started to simply feel like frustrating busywork. It was an all around enjoyable game anyway. |
| Dec 17 00:37:00 | 10m 00s | P.Rick Airious | Quite the fun game. The movements felt tight and at no point did I feel the game was being unfair. Only gripe I've got with it really is the instant death and respawn especially when the glowing balls are coming at you in a group formation. At some points there was little one could do about losing multiple lives in a series as they just kept coming and there was no time to get out of the way. |
| Dec 17 06:19:00 | 5h 42m | Quiet Life | Judging by the previous comments you already know what the bugs and gamebreaking design flaws are and have probably fixed them in the post compo version so I will not be talking about those.

I had fun learning the game as an iterative process driven by the joy of discovery. I feel a game like this should not necessarily have even the most basic tutorial because the fun lies the discovery process. As I came to find; as soon as I had figured out how to survive the winter and live til the sheepocalypse stagnation set in and it wasn't that fun anymore. This is where "more stuff" comes in, but asking for more from a compo entry would be ludicrous and its not the the point. What you have here works and is fun to figure out.

The amount of stuff you've managed to implement in a compo entry is impressive to say the least. Great work! |
| Dec 17 22:10:00 | 15h 51m | Walk to the door | Love the simplicity of the concept. Game was fun to play. |
| Dec 17 22:58:00 | 48m 00s | birdsong | Very nice take on the theme. Strong entry! |
| Dec 17 23:16:00 | 18m 00s | Mobius Dungeon | Interesting mechanics. It came to an abrupt end and left me wanting more. Cant fault you for that though. Solid entry overall. |
| Dec 17 23:33:00 | 17m 00s | Starside Takeover | Loved the graphics and the effects. Solid shmup action. |
| Dec 17 23:44:00 | 11m 00s | Rudolph | That was a blast. Turns out I am a medium santa. |
