| Aug 25 03:07:00 | Hearts Nexus | Really cute. Art style and overall humor went really well together. The little references -- "Bort" -- very funny.

Liked the challenge escalation, although in terms of balance it might have been good to increase the bad-match penalty. Once I had built up some Rep, I could pretty much just randomly match people together for a while and just about break even. | |
| Aug 25 03:25:00 | 18m 00s | Orbit | Played all the levels but couldn't for the life of me figure out 13! Still, love the puzzles. Very fun! |
| Aug 25 03:31:00 | 6m 00s | Hop Hop Planet | This is a very nice entry! Great art, nice sound effects, fun action. Nicely done. I would have felt a little more in control if the "tipping point" between planets was a little more forgiving, but that's probably just a personal preference sort of thing. |
| Aug 26 00:53:00 | 21h 22m | Unknown | Hi Harsay! Just a heads up: I had some trouble running the game due to missing DLLs. In case anyone else runs into the same, I was able to solve the problem by installing DirectX...

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

And also this Visual C++ Redistributable (the x86 version).

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

Does UE4 let you do a build that includes these automatically? |
| Aug 26 20:55:00 | 20h 02m | The Great Space Ambassador | This is a game with a solid sense of style. I really like the art: the robot design was excellent. A lot of great humor! "Seal the Deal" is priceless. |
| Aug 26 21:13:00 | 18m 00s | Untangle~! | Nicely done! You had a solid concept and brought it to life. The story you're telling is simple, but successful. Work on refining controls and movement to avoid the choppy feeling. |
| Aug 26 21:24:00 | 11m 00s | Boulevard of Broken Themes | Funny concept, but I agree with burgerdare: there needed to be some hints after a while. |
| Aug 26 21:42:00 | 18m 00s | Pulley Planet | Oh man this is awesome. Graphics are phenomenal, great audio ("PUNCHTASTIC!" lol!), great deal of humor in the animations and the concept overall. Just so brilliant. |
| Aug 26 22:00:00 | 18m 00s | Misplaced | Great game! Quite challenging. |
| Aug 26 22:07:00 | 7m 00s | Crossworld Club | Haha, so much excellent humor in this one. Well written! |
| Aug 26 22:19:00 | 12m 00s | Eat!Live!Kill!Win! | Very cool concept! I'd love to see a more fleshed-out version of the ideas here. |
| Aug 26 22:28:00 | 9m 00s | Twinkle | This is a great unique concept! Well done! |
| Aug 26 22:39:00 | 11m 00s | 6 Dimensions | Really cool concept and I love the elegant simplicity of the design. At first I would have agreed with Fanatrick, but the later levels have more interaction, so I was pleased by that. Maybe some simpler interaction in some earlier levels would improve the pacing. |
| Aug 27 04:22:00 | 5h 43m | Connecting LD30 to the Real World | Awesome idea. :) |
| Aug 27 18:55:00 | 14h 33m | WARBLE WORLDS | Has a lot of promise. Once you get the concept and manage to figure out the control quirks, it's not so bad really. I think some description of the game before starting would go a long way towards improving people's perception. I still have no idea what to do with the marbles in the starting room. :) |
| Aug 27 18:59:00 | 4m 00s | Astral Experience | Neat concept! I like the voxel construction of the game world, and the shader (?) on the "astral" cam is pretty neat. Movement is awfully floaty, so if you continue to work on this I'd suggest refining that... unless that's what you're going for of course!

GG :) |
| Aug 27 19:18:00 | 19m 00s | Sleep | A very heartfelt story, rich with detail. Using effects to enhance the storytelling was very well done. |
| Aug 27 19:29:00 | 11m 00s | Timehop | Well done! I'm really glad to see these dual-world puzzle games and this one is pretty good. Easy, as you mentioned, but still enjoyable. |
| Aug 27 19:52:00 | 23m 00s | Card Split Wars | Really cool concept; well done! I could definitely see this being worked into a full game.

I noticed that attacks didn't seem to happen at the same time. Enemy cards seemed to deal damage first, which makes powerful enemy units almost impossible to stop. One got to my second row with 8 attack and 2 life, and no matter how many units I played against him, they'd always die right away. This leads to a feeling of imbalance which I don't know if you were aiming for or not.

Also a longer battlefield might give more opportunity for strategy (like deploying leaders and archers). Anyway, still really fun. Good job! |
| Aug 28 05:54:00 | 10h 02m | Alien Boogie-Down | Hilarious, I love it! The triangle art style is pretty slick, too. |
| Aug 28 06:17:00 | 23m 00s | Gimbal Fighter | Definitely a cool little space fighter game. Could use better feedback - when were you hit? When did you hit the enemy? How close are you to blowing up? Where are the remaining enemies? |
| Aug 28 18:58:00 | 12h 41m | A Tale Of Words | I am so in love with this idea: the dynamic story-telling aspect is just perfect. Simple but so fun. And the voice-over really brought a lot of life to what would otherwise have been a too-text-heavy game. Excellent writing.

I wish there were more ways to reveal cards, since fairly often I found myself without any real choices to make. |
| Aug 28 19:17:00 | 19m 00s | Chaos Heart | I laughed so hard at the score screen. Very well designed all around; I can do nothing but echo the positive comments from above.

That moment you realize that *maybe* you aren't protecting these planets... D: |
| Aug 28 20:20:00 | 1h 03m | Afterlife Dance Party | Very fun and unique concept! The setup is brilliant and I love the character design.

The hitboxes felt a little unforgiving which is a pain when you have to quickly switch poses. I also wasn't sure if the game sets you up for "impossible to not get hit" situations, or if I was just bad at the game. (If I spent more time with the game, I'm sure I could figure that out on my own, but anyway...) :) |
| Aug 28 20:23:00 | 3m 00s | A Light In The Darkness | A very strong entry with beautifully minimalist graphics that perfectly fit the game. And the amount of behind-the-scenes sophistication that must exist to make a multiplayer experience possible pushes this from "cool" to "excellent". The only thing I could possibly hope for is sound effects for the various actions.

Oh, and more levels! ;) |
| Aug 29 20:39:00 | 24h 16m | Balance the Worlds | Cool idea with a really fun presentation. I really like the way the four planets just constantly and calmly revolve while the star field slowly scrolls by in the background. This could be a very relaxing game to play. :) Awesome shot; I'm sure the lessons you learned here will lead to more sophisticated gameplay in future. Looking forward to it. |
| Aug 29 21:07:00 | 28m 00s | Schrodinghost | Gorgeous and funny! I felt like the last puzzle was a bit cheap. Maybe I missed a clue but I solved it only by randomly clicking on things. Perhaps this was just due to the time crunch, which is understandable. Great concept and well executed. |
| Aug 29 21:20:00 | 13m 00s | Chipset-0 | Beautiful game and a great platform-puzzler. I love the multiple endings! |
| Aug 29 21:52:00 | 32m 00s | Parallel worlds | Interesting puzzle scenarios. Well crafted! |
| Aug 29 21:56:00 | 4m 00s | Catalyst | You definitely managed to create a creepy vibe using very simple cues. Well done with that! |
| Aug 29 22:03:00 | 7m 00s | Spaceway Transportation | I like the art style, and the fact that you included an endless mode. :) |
| Aug 29 22:12:00 | 9m 00s | Just an ordinary day (10UP edition) | Interesting experiment in connected storytelling. I liked it! |
| Aug 31 21:32:00 | 47h 20m | ConnectTheWorlds | I liked the humorous texts sprinkled throughout. This was a fun variation on the classic lunar lander game!

I have the following suggestions for refinement. It would be helpful to get a chance to look at the gravity setting before you start falling. Maybe just a one second pause to get ready. For keyboard shortcuts, I suggest something more like QWER for engine power and ASDF for burn time, so that one hand can comfortably select both.

Also, when the computer starts forgetting your settings, there should be a sound effect that indicates when this happens. Otherwise I don't know until I hit Burn next, which might be fatal. It does add an element of challenge, which I'm sure is what you were going for, but in its current state it feels a little unfair.

Sound effects overall could use some volume balancing.

Also at some point the game bugged out and kept telling me I had just successfully landed on Espere, despite having actually landed on a different planet, so I'm afraid I couldn't complete the game. :( |
| Aug 31 21:51:00 | 19m 00s | Hello Worlds | Really unique and lovely concept. Beautiful art and music make for a relaxing experience. However the control scheme definitely does not! The post-compo version resolves some of the control issues, but not all of them. No matter what, triple-clicking a moving target is just hard. And it doesn't take very many setbacks to completely screw you. Maybe if you used keyboard keys to cycle through the parts and then clicked to place it I would feel more in control without removing all of the challenge? |
| Aug 31 22:05:00 | 14m 00s | Columbus Close the Door of Your Seas | Definitely a fascinating concept. Without something to gain by allowing interaction, the easiest way to maintain diversity is to keep everyone separate. This, of course, could be intentional, to make a point -- but in any case this makes this less a game and more an instructional simulation. Still, much praise for the attempt! |
| Aug 31 22:14:00 | 9m 00s | Bald-Faced SPACE TRUCKERS | Really cool art design here! It does get a bit repetitive of course, but it's a very strong entry for the time limit. Well done! |
| Aug 31 22:22:00 | 8m 00s | Sinister | Beautiful! I especially liked the text effects and the slow reveal of the world to help establish mood.

Unfortunately little substance, but such is Ludum Dare. I feel like dubstep was an odd choice given -- as I interpreted it -- the theme of separation from a loved one in death. |
| Sep 2 05:07:00 | 30h 45m | Awe | A really cool experience! Nicely done. |
| Sep 4 21:13:00 | 64h 06m | Spacecat Marines | Oh no! I got about halfway through the missions and then got stuck in the Team screen. :( Still, great fun! I was thinking that the missions were too easy: stand in the line of approach and shoot. But then the missions started getting more difficult with the enemy cats breaking up and approaching from different angles. So well done steadily increasing the difficulty curve! Could use a bit more depth, but hey it's a 48 hour game, so well done. :) |
| Sep 4 21:23:00 | 10m 00s | La Roue de Fortune | I want to play this game because it's clear there's some very interesting mechanics to play with. But without some kind of tutorial or explanation I just have no idea what I'm even trying to do. Please let me know if you do put out some explanation so I can re-play. (@JavadocMD or on my game's page.) Thanks! |
| Sep 4 21:36:00 | 13m 00s | See You Later, Gladiator | Very impressive in art style, perspective, and concept. Unfortunately I keep getting disconnected at 1 health. I can't even tell if that's a bug or not. Oh well. Pretty neat anyway. |
| Sep 4 21:49:00 | 13m 00s | Intranet | Neat story! Just as a nitpick, I'd suggest better differentiating the things you've said and the things you can click on. Different colors maybe. |
| Sep 4 22:03:00 | 14m 00s | Altrein's Portal | I like the simplistic graphical style in general, but it is maybe a bit too simplistic as-is. It's really difficult to understand why some enemies die and others don't since there's little feedback about shots fired or enemy health. Still, nicely done for the time given. |
| Sep 4 22:29:00 | 26m 00s | juxtapose | Simply awesome! Gorgeous. Moody. Discoverable. Replayable. This little game has everything in a nice little package. |
| Sep 4 22:46:00 | 17m 00s | Or|Bit | The graphics and audio are beautiful, but it does seem like you just re-implemented Deus Ex's hacking game. To me it seems like there's little strategy involved besides hacking directly to your target as quickly as possible. And that's just a matter of how well you can target your clicks. |
| Sep 4 23:19:00 | 33m 00s | Lady Lyla | A lovely game and story. I absolutely adore the presentation of the boy's imagination as you interact with the world. Well done! Could definitely be developed further. |
| Sep 4 23:26:00 | 7m 00s | Ergo Syskevis | I liked the concept once I figured it out. The puzzle aspect could use a little bit of meat... but I don't know what. Maybe some indication of which numbers affect which besides trying to simply remember it all. A graphical representation of the body that you're teleporting would also go a long way of course. Still, certainly innovative! |
| Sep 8 19:29:00 | 92h 03m | Alice Anxiety | Great potential here; keep working on it! |
| Sep 8 19:44:00 | 15m 00s | Stellarlink Corp | Really well-polished game from a presentation perspective. My biggest problem was being colorblind made it really difficult to distinguish between some of the city colors. Adding in some additional distinguishing characteristics would help. Nicely done! |
| Sep 8 21:54:00 | 2h 10m | LyftOff! | Not a bad little game given the time constraints. Love the art style and the character design of the aliens!

I super-confused myself the first couple times I tried to play this though. If you get an assignment, and then click on several wrong planets in a row, you wind up getting multiple new assignments. So as someone is trying to figure out the game, suddenly your map is scrolling around randomly giving you new assignments that you can't possibly click on fast enough. It gets really out of hand! Seems like the game needs to take measures to ensure you only have one assignment at a time.

I also would have liked some alternative scrolling controls. Mouse-edge scrolling is really hard to use when you're playing a non-full-screen game, so enabling some WASD and/or arrow keys would have been nice.

This is a great start for a very cute game! |
