| Aug 26 02:08:00 | Nonomnia | Uh, not exactly that interesting a game. Sorry to be a downer. | |
| Aug 26 02:18:00 | 10m 00s | FLIP! | A good entry. Sometimes one of the two balls wouldn't move vertically even though there was nothing in the way. Either way, decent fun. |
| Aug 26 02:30:00 | 12m 00s | Crystal Keeper | Really fun (if hard) game. Maybe make it a bit easier and explain what's going on clearer though? |
| Aug 26 02:37:00 | 7m 00s | Linked Planets | Surprisingly fun game, but it can be a bit annoying rather than challenging to have those asteroids ruin everything. |
| Aug 26 02:42:00 | 5m 00s | The Circle Of Life | Pretty good, if repetitive. Though it is possible to reach a state in which it is impossible to finish a level. |
| Aug 26 02:46:00 | 4m 00s | Mexican Standoff | Interesting take on the theme. Would probably make an awesome multiplayer game. Couldn't get the character select working though. I wanted to play as doge pretty badly. |
| Aug 26 02:52:00 | 6m 00s | Warp Corp | Doesn't fit with the theme too well, but as a game of multitasking, it's surprisingly fun. I would suggest using WASD instead of the Arrow Keys though. |
| Aug 26 03:06:00 | 14m 00s | Relative to Scale | A well done, if very simple, game. I like the way it loops. |
| Aug 26 03:15:00 | 9m 00s | Disconnect | Nice, clever idea that is fun to play. Collisions could use some work though. |
| Aug 26 03:16:00 | 1m 00s | What Would You Do with a Quantum Computer? | I'm always fascinated by these sorts of games, but it seems like you had a lot of rushed ideas and tried to make it bigger than it needed to be. Perhaps I just misunderstand what paths need to be taken, but it seems like there really isn't as much content in this game as there should have been for a Jam entry, especially when the entire focus was on the story and no focus was required to graphics/music. |
| Aug 26 03:23:00 | 7m 00s | Nosliw Plane | Impressive to make a 3D platformer that's as good as this for a Ludum Dare. The controls could be more fluid though. |
| Aug 26 03:43:00 | 20m 00s | Connected Worlds by Jacksack and JordanFitz | A bit of a predictable concept, but it's still fun. It would be great if the world-switching was more instantaneous. |
| Aug 26 04:21:00 | 38m 00s | Onomo | Fantastic atmosphere, though the lack of gameplay substance shouldn't be ignored. |
| Aug 26 04:29:00 | 8m 00s | A Series of Leaky Tubes | Overall, a well put together game! Wouldn't expect any less from those at DePaul. |
| Aug 26 04:51:00 | 22m 00s | Galaxy Hunters | I like the frantic gameplay, but it gets repetitive. Maybe a shorter play cycle or more gameplay variety would help if you choose to continue working on this. |
| Aug 26 16:32:00 | 11h 41m | Antbassador | This was just fantastic! Hands down the best game of this jam. Way to go! |
| Aug 27 04:06:00 | 11h 34m | A : Attack from Red Planet | Ahahaha... I'm such a sucker for RTS games. That being said, I'm not sure I liked how you had to click on the coins themselves, if we're talking pure clicking mixed with RTS then that seems better. Also would've liked to control the units, but it's understandable that you had limited time. Good game though. :) |
| Aug 27 04:15:00 | 9m 00s | YRENKO | It was interesting and moody, but overall very, VERY confusing. Demons just piled up and chased me, pushing the attack button seemed to create a very short distance attack that didn't do anything. The mood was great, but the gameplay was terrible. |
| Aug 27 04:34:00 | 19m 00s | Dave's RGB Adventure | While this game wasn't outstanding, I still think it's 10x better than the games out there that tried to do something too complex within the time they were given, and gave a half-baked game that was more often than not broken. The levels were a bit disproportionate in length, but be proud that you finished a game without bugs. |
| Aug 27 04:39:00 | 5m 00s | Worlds Together | Not exactly a finished game, but I like the concept. If you could expand upon it to make it less confusing perhaps it could be something great. As it stands I still feel that more could have been done on this even within 48 hours, but I like that you focused on putting quality into what you did end up making. |
| Aug 28 02:15:00 | 21h 36m | Spacewatch | Cool concept, but I feel it's a bit hard. Remember that the developer often finds the game easier than most players. That being said, I enjoyed it, I'd say this was one of the better games I played. :) |
| Aug 28 02:22:00 | 7m 00s | Coplanarity | Interesting concept, I'd like to see this expanded upon. This is pretty good and level-headed for your first Jam, congrats on that. Many people end up taking up a task that's too large or small. That being said, I believe that the rules for the Jam state that you can use online resources, so next time you should try adding sound/music, I feel it would help the game immensely. |
| Aug 28 02:27:00 | 5m 00s | Space Evolution | "A Java Exception has occurred." - the error I get when trying to run the game. |
| Aug 28 02:58:00 | 31m 00s | Overlap | Moving the game window itself, as the first answer implied, did not solve anything. I saw the other blanks, but this did not fill them up. I could not figure out the first puzzle. It's an interesting concept, but I can't figure it out. |
| Aug 28 03:07:00 | 9m 00s | Colliding Geometries | I congratulate you on giving this competition a shot, especially hearing about the time zone and location differences. However, atm it's just a platformer engine, and I'd advise making it smoother before expanding upon it. |
| Aug 28 03:21:00 | 14m 00s | Dead Weight | I absolutely love this, you were able to make a rather complicated game on the phone, and the use of theme was really good. That being said, I feel like platforming was hard and would be easier on a device other than a phone using tilt. Still love it though. We also made a game, check it out if you haven't already. (I don't really remember all the names in the comments for our game) |
| Aug 28 03:35:00 | 14m 00s | Connectris | Very interesting concept, and fun. I enjoyed it. If you could expand on this with better graphics and some music, I think it could be a very fun concept. |
| Aug 28 03:46:00 | 11m 00s | Pluto's Revenge | I couldn't help but be annoyed by how hard it was to steer. This reminded me of solar. |
| Aug 28 03:50:00 | 4m 00s | Connected Cultures | This was definitely a nice game, I always enjoy overhead view rpgs, and it was relatively glitch free. That being said, it was a bit confusing figuring out where exactly to go sometimes, I think it could've used a bit more direction. Still a nice game, quite a bit better than many games out there, great job! |
| Aug 28 04:02:00 | 12m 00s | Twin Souls in Parallel Worlds | I love the execution, the concept is interesting as well. I've never really liked slow paced games like this, but it was very well done nonetheless, good job. |
| Aug 28 04:09:00 | 7m 00s | Super Alien Bro | I ate a lollipop and suddenly everything was in flashy rainbow colors and awesome music. Paired with keys being reversed and playing in a dark room, it was kinda tripy. |
| Aug 29 05:23:00 | 25h 14m | Interstellar | Haha, first off all, ty for taking connected worlds seriously like our team did. XD Our games are rather similar. I loved the concept, graphics, and music. A bit hard, but it seems like it's meant to be that way. A+ from me. :) |
| Aug 31 19:15:00 | 61h 52m | This Hero, That Villain | Gameplay is too simple, but for something done in one day as your first Ludum Dare I'd give it a C++ (lol I made a programmer joke). If you were to expand on this with better graphics, and make each hero/villain have different powers and tactics, it could be rather interesting. |
| Aug 31 19:22:00 | 7m 00s | The Story of a Fabulous UniRaptor and Fifty Seven Aliens | Gravity being this large combined with such tight platforming and horizontal movement speed that doesn't have inertia, but rather stops immediately after releasing the arrow keys, makes this game far too hard. Also, there should be checkpoints. I only got to level 4 because being sent to the very beginning after losing only 3 lives time and time again frustrated me. Not sure how many level you actually intended us to get through with 3 lives. |
| Sep 1 03:46:00 | 8h 24m | Balls from Planet LD30 | Decently programmed, collisions can be hard. But from a design standpoint the concept is too simple, avoid the balls. Well, it was a completed game done in time for a Ludum Dare, so I don't judge you too much for going for simplicity, it's decent for what it is. |
| Sep 1 03:53:00 | 7m 00s | Galactic Empire | If this was truly you going into the Ludum Dare having never made a game before, then this is good progress. However, next time I'd suggest practicing using Game Maker at least a few weeks before the Ludum Dare. |
| Sep 1 04:05:00 | 12m 00s | Emergence | This idea is fantastic dude. And the execution was marvelous for a 48 hour entry. My biggest pet-peeve was how hard it is to scroll around space, perhaps move the screen at a certain speed depending on how close to the edge of the screen the mouse is? Once again, I LOVE the combination of RTS and planetary battles, I hope you polish it up and do more with this in the future. |
| Sep 1 04:12:00 | 7m 00s | Disc Jockey Jockey | Sounds like a cool concept, don't let it go to waste, I'm sure you can figure it out. :) |
| Sep 1 04:16:00 | 4m 00s | Dario Runner | Interesting concept, I liked it. A bit of a stretch as far as the theme goes, but it works, and it's definitely solid. |
| Sep 1 04:21:00 | 5m 00s | Morpheus | Does this first level go on forever? There doesn't seem to be an end, and I'm honestly getting creeped out. XD Anyways, solid work if this is your own engine. Did you make the graphics? That's what impresses me the most. |
| Sep 1 04:27:00 | 6m 00s | World2 | This is probably the most polished game I've seen so far. It might not be a lot, but the concept is good and everything just feels so natural, from the menu to the gameplay. Though getting squished by walls or falling into pits is annoying. XD Great job nontheless. |
