Fractured Edge by Samuli 2021-10-05T15:37:48Z

@mrchip I'm glad the game ran smoothly for you! There was quite a bit of math involved in turning all the 3d models into vectors for the oscilloscope and then clipping them all against the round frustrum and each other so that lines don't show up through what should be solid surfaces. It's not lightweight to do all that on CPU (initial version with all the graphics effects ran at single-digit framerates) and it was only ~2 hours before the deadline that I managed to get it all optimized enough to run smoothly. Thanks again for the feedback!

@a-bond So nice to see someone to actually play the game it was meant to be played, I really did not expect someone to have an oscilloscope AND the board available :D

Pillars of Stability by AMastryukov 2021-10-04T23:57:52Z

Great artwork (both 2D and 3D), and a fun original gameplay mechanics!

The most polished entry I have tried out so far, I enjoyed how well the mechanics were taught with tutorial messages and pop-ups.

Soviet Office Simulator by Julius Vander Arend 2021-10-04T23:41:45Z

The concept is very fun, I liked the design of the soviet office. The game seems quite challenging, I had some problems with getting fired even when I managed to complete both starting tasks successfully. But perhaps that is just the opposite of job stability :)

PS. I found the executable name very relatable.

BRUTEFORCE by TotteriLudum 2021-10-05T22:50:01Z

I noticed this game yesterday but did not have time to play back then. I had been browsing in a private tab and forgot about the name of the game, but the concept was interesting enough that I took the time to look for this game until I found it again.

I got Uplink vibes from this, very nice! I enjoyed the writing and all the small details. The difficulty was tough and I did not succeed on first time - got jumpscared twice and ended up having to make a wrong guess due to being about to run out of time. After that I managed to get the right suspect by using information from the previous attempt, although my reasoning was quite flimsy.

My reasoning about the suspect, ROT13 encoded to avoid spoiling others: Fretrl jnf "ryvzvangrq" ol Gvtrejbys82/Naqerl, fb nffhzrq qrnq. Ynan naq Fretrl whfg qvq abg nccrne yvxr gurl jbhyq unir n zbgvingvba gb pbzzvg na npg bs greebevfz onfrq ba gurve sevraqfcyhfarg cbfgvatf, qrfcvgr Angnyvn ohlvat synzznoyr yvdhvqf. Fb gung bayl yrnirf Fgrxri jub unq svanapvny vffhrf naq gurersber pbhyq unir orra qrfcrengr rabhtu gb cresbez na npg bs greebevfz sbe zbarl.

This did not seem like a very solid reasoning to me, so I would be interested to know if I missed some important clue which would have allowed me to come too a more solid conclusion.

Simple but fun concept! I think I managed to break your high score howhighhowmany.png

@ache-games For some reason I did not get the leaderboard pop-up that time. I gave the game a new go and managed to get 10.4 thanks to a very lucky throw which gave me a grey block that was standing straight up vertically. This time the leaderboard worked fine!

How high How many by ache games 2021-10-10T13:00:52Z

I think I managed to break the game. During my previous high-score run I figured out it is much easier to stack grey blocks for height if they are vertical, but it is rare to get such a block naturally. But, if I drop a horizontal grey block on the very edge of the map, it will actually collide with the map border and that way it is possible for me to flip the blocks vertically.

However, the game does not seem to register such blocks properly, sometimes they do not count towards height, this should be 10 mts I believe, but the game thinks it is only 5.2, the arrow is in the wrong place, and my ship is not high enough to place any more blocks: howhighhowmany-vertical-bug.png

And sometimes flipping blocks vertically causes the height to increase even though I have not even placed anything in the center of the map yet. howhighhowmany-vertical-bug-2.png

I also tried out the "how-many" mode, but it is somehow bugged for me. The cube count at times increases much more than it should and I do not know why. E.g. here it says 4 when I would expect it to be 2. At one point the count increased by 15(!) when I dropped a single cube and my final score ended up being 46 cubes on the first try. I did not save that on the leaderboard, though, since that was the result of a bug. howhighhowmany-count-bug.png

Thank you for the comments! Found out the in-game UI is broken on non-4k resolutions, will submit a post-jam fix.

Pupu Pew Pew by Samuli 2022-10-04T00:04:51Z

Thanks! The shop mechanic is something we decided on quite early, to have some kind of progression in the game (on top of the randomly generated levels themselves getting more difficult over time).

v1.0.1 UI hotfix for non-4k resolutions is up!
