Great gameplay! I like the attention to detail where getting hit on an area you've already been hit sends you back one space, so there's still an incentive to block high and low. The only thing I might change is to add some kind of penalty to being pushed back past the end of the screen. This would likely be necessary if multiplayer were added since a safe strategy is to just leave your blade on the line where you haven't been hit.

The AI is pretty good, too, and has a nice difficulty curve as you defeat more opponents.

On My Way by Zefphyer 2023-05-02T02:13:52Z

Perfectly captures the feeling of being a new driver on the highway. You're always in the way of everyone and you miss your exit before you realize it's there.

The car likes to drift a lot, but it'd be way more difficult if it didn't.

ConquerAnts by Pierre-Marie 2024-10-11T03:44:54Z

Wow, there's a lot of game here. I like the idea of combining a colony builder with vampire survivors combat in between rounds, and the gameplay is fun.

I got about 10-12 rounds into it before losing. When you don't get enough food, I think there should be one round of starving before you die and lose the game (if you don't manage to get enough food on the next round, you lose completely). Equivalently, you could have one round's minimum amount of food storage capacity.

I had a hard time figuring out the mechanics at first. I unlocked a new ammo type but didn't realize I needed to build the armory to equip it (maybe ammo should be researched in the armory). I was also sometimes confused about how conquerAnts disappear between rounds. I assigned one a bed and then sent it to battle, but it never returned (I think? Might be wrong about this).

The stats are a bit hard to read and contextualize since all the scales are different. A bar chart showing where each stat is on the distribution might help.

For the combat, I'd probably zoom out just a little bit (maybe 10-15%) and make the background pan at the same rate as the enemies when walking. Sometimes, I misjudge how quickly I'm moving and run right into an enemy who has just fired a wall of ants, killing me instantly (although my ants are just too weak).

Onerous Orbits by Ian McD 2025-04-08T03:23:37Z

This is fun! I wish there were more fine grained controls for waiting, rotating, and thrusting, but that's part of the challenge. I prefer the levels that have gravity.

Home is where hell is by Anderson Job Loeffler 2025-04-08T02:49:25Z

Great art style. Lots of polish on the animations. I like the concept of a platforming game where you're trying to fall down.

I'm not sure I like the idea of going back to the beginning if I choose the wrong path when there's not much indication of what the right path is, but this could maybe work if the levels are short.

Debt Miner by fungus mundus 2025-04-08T02:38:26Z

I found myself optimizing when to explode an area to hit the most ores in order to avoid using my limited digs. Having more tools like this could be an interesting way to make the player think more about how they mine the field.

I'm not sure I've reached the end of the game. It seems like there's more game field below, but I can't expand the window large enough to see the bottom.

I like the little goblin.
