Don't Touch the Button by Yngvarr 2020-04-21T09:20:18Z

Fun little short experience ! This kind of game is really carried by the writting and in this game I felt it was pretty well done, it was short but every minute had something to do or something new to add and you can see a lot of though was put into it even in small things like the roaches having a small startup indicator when they spawn or the fish bumping against the glass to move the blender.

Great job !

Human Spiderweb by miziziziz 2020-04-21T08:02:42Z

Interesting concept and visually it looks really distinctive.

My main problem is that as a game this is very unfun, the detection for the mouth is kinda clunky and since it takes a huge motion to correct it it ends up feeling extra bad to miss by very little, maybe have some sort of magnet radius around the second mouth where it shakes towards it or something just soo it detects food easier and makes the game less clunky.

The tethering to mouth guy is also really clunky around courners where it gets stuck really easy which, again, since its so punishing to move around feels like an overload of negative feedback.

Overall though clearly there's a lot of talent here this game looks great and has a ton of polish and production value, well done.

Doctor Lit by Animaster 2020-04-21T03:25:36Z

Right of the bat this game looks incredible, the animation is super smooth everything looks super responsive and the visual clarity and visual feedback is great this game is begging to be played.

That said the gameplay itself is kinda wierd to get your hands around, of course its a game jam game so you cant expect release quality, but one thing I think would have really helped this game was a clear segmentation into zones, as in you start off in a small controlled zone where there are no encounters so you can get to grasp with the gathering and the mechanics and then you can try to venture deeper into realms where there are more and more dangerous beasts. In my eyes this would help both early and late game, earlier it would help with the tension since right now it's way to easy to get away from the encounters so they are almost a non-being and later when you actually want encounters you'd know where they are easier to find.

Some other small things is that there could be like a small encounter jingle or a transition just so it feels more polished and less jaring to get a random encounter.

I also had what I don't know if it was a bug or not but basically using items only increased my max life not my total life, which honestly I kinda liked since it added a sense of tension to the combat and made every fight something that you had to ponder if the health loss was worth it.

That's the bulk of my criticism otherwise the game looks great I'd love to play a more finished version of this game awesome job!

@shaner421 Very true! Something really essencial in terms of visual feedback that we totaly forgot during all the things to do. Thank you for the feedback!

@robowarrior1982 You are very right ! We wanted this game to be above all about fun, although we ended up making some cuts for the jam to focus a bit more on balance and give the players a harder experience. Given the chance to work on it we'd probably focus more on having guns be stronger with more ammo just soo the fun factor goes up exponentially. Thanks for playing !

@lamasaurus Wow I'm glad you gave our game so much of your time we really appreciate it ! We decided to make it a time attack with scaling dificulty to deal with the loop we fell into that way its a bit justifiable, given the chance we'd probably work on more varied enemies in terms of mechanics and even maybe a big boss that would spawn after some time or after some points are aquired! Again thank you soo much for playing!

@talia Thank you for playing, we'll surely work on the hit detection after the jam is over just so the game truly feels like its all about the fun! It's a game about a dancing unicorn ofc how can that not be fun!

Steven Saves The World! by shaner421 2020-04-21T03:37:35Z

Awesome idea, the concept of grabbing enemies and dealing damage to them by hitting them into stuff is really cool and it was a lot of fun when it worked.

That said it was kinda janky and didnt work a lot of the times which really killed the mood for me I think it has probably something to do with the hit detection but a lot of the times when it felt like my hooks should hit, I had the mouse literally on top of the enemy, it would go behind them.

The audio also is only set to one audio channel so it was kinda distracting to only have sound in one side of my head.

That said, great work delivering this ! The concept is super fun and has a ton of space to grow! If you keep working on it I for one am super excited to see how it turns out.
