LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

I really like the audio, and that the game's mechanics fit its own flavor. I think a more forgiving fail state, such as having multiple lives, would go a long way here. All in all, this makes me want to learn Pico-8.

I like the antidote mechanic. The one thing that's stopping me from playing this game more is the really fast difficulty scaling. It felt good for half a second to finally kill the three snake guys, and then six more instantly appear. IMO you should just drag it all out longer - smaller numbers of mutants for a while, then one snake, etc.

Project Morph by evandowning 2017-12-08T02:56:21Z

This was fun and funny, and I think the best use of the theme I've seen so far - not too obvious or banal, but also not too tangential.

The fire button doesn't work if you press it while you are driving - you can start driving while you are firing and keep firing while driving, but you cannot start firing while driving.

I could be wrong, but I think source means just the scripts and nonpublic libraries, not your entire Unity project.

Drug It: There And Back Again by Dlaha 2017-12-06T15:23:53Z

I noticed that if you manage to avoid taking any substances, you still miss the party and have the same 'conscience' dialog, and you wind up with zero points instead of like 500 or 600 you end up with if you take all the drugs and set the dog on fire etc.

It superficially seems like a Nancy Reagan 'just say no' moral is being presented, when the real message of the game is that it's better to hurt people and animals than to be bored. This is truly hilarious, though I wonder whether it's intentional or not.

Rocket Bucket by Byron Bowen 2017-12-04T21:39:01Z

If the bucket is too heavy, try playing with lower graphics settings and it should work. I could fix that bug but this is my first Ludum Dare and I don't know if that's allowed.

Edit: I checked the rules, and it says a bug fix like this should be ok, so I'm going to fix it and reupload.

Another edit: Ok it's fixed. Graphics settings shouldn't matter now.

Yeah, I think I should remove the web version, since as you say it isn't playable.

Graphics settings shouldn't matter anymore. Did you try pressing ASD all at the same time?

SHROOOMS by theloneplant 2017-12-04T21:35:55Z

Good game feel, cohesive idea. This seems worth developing further maybe; with a few different enemies and more varied space to run around in, I could see myself playing this quite a bit. I scored over 1,100 kills and noticed that eating mushrooms became obsolete pretty quickly, because they only grew inside the mob. I found myself and the mob basically forced into a circular chasing pattern, which was fun for a while (good game feel) but then became tedious for a while before I died.

Let's mix some drinks! by Sintel 2017-12-08T02:53:18Z

Really fun and silly, spilling stuff and tossing bottles feels very drunkardly and natural. Great take on the theme.
