Fun twist on power ups!

A really interesting mechanic! I really like the abilities you collect doing damage to you, and the character controlled very well! Unfortunately I died during the second boss and got locked out of the boss room then, but it seems like a really fun entry! Great job! :)

! Gamesplusjames! :D

I watched your tutorials when I was first learning to code -- you played a part in me learning to create this.

Great use of the theme! I also got locked out of one of the boss rooms, but played through the boss rush.

One of the greatest game I played today. Good use of the theme and fun fun fun.

There's a lot of work for 48h, good job. I wish the game was a little faster but nice overall experience

Interesting idea. I liked the graphics and the music, though the sound effects and the music were a bit too loud for my liking, with seemingly no way to change the volume. Struggled to get the platforms right though, and when I died during a boss battle I couldn't get back in and had to restart the game :|

I will fix the boss battle respawn thing when I get home -- if you want to skip straight to the bosses, try the boss rush!

fantastic game! The only thing I didn't like was the choice for the fire button.

What a great game, amazing artstyle and i love the muzic and the whole design of the game! and a fun take on the more you have the worse it is!

evandowning 2017-12-04 22:41

Wall spawn bug fixed --- you should be able to die at the second boss without issue now. ;)

lifehack 2017-12-05 03:46

Really like it!

Music was nice, but the stacked sound effects of the base arm cannon when you spam it was unfortunately jarring. My personal preference is for there to be some progression in the players ability to do stuff, empowering them, so the extra bombs chasing the player, the arm cannon shots being exchanged for much slower sword slashes was anti-fun for me. But the theme this time felt like it was hard to design around, staying true to it, so you definitely get full rating in that category :)

evandowning 2017-12-05 14:41

Sorry @worai, that was the restriction of the theme! :D The more powers you get, the worse it is!

Very impressive graphics and music! (Very catchy tunes, too)

The platforming itself feels a bit awkward and there's a lot of precision jumping involved. The ample amount of checkpoints makes up for that a bit.

Overall a solid first entry, congrats!

This was fun and funny, and I think the best use of the theme I've seen so far - not too obvious or banal, but also not too tangential.

nax-89 2017-12-11 19:32

Interesting implementation of the theme, the pixel art and music are very very good. I feel the controls and platoforms sections difficult, maybe you can tweak a little the difficult, but anyways, a good entry. congrats

the-dankasaur 2017-12-19 04:18

The art and the music are great. I like the idea, and the execution was great. My problem is the controls. If you're using WASD controls and W isn't being used for anything else, W is to jump. Making it space is just awkward. And, if you're going to use the mouse buttons for shooting, use the mouse for aiming. Because the mouse button was for shooting, I found myself tying to aim with the mouse as well. If you can work that all out, it'd be a great submission.
