Really fun idea with the phone, nice work!
i can keep my phone for 10 years ;)
Awesome! I managed to survive for 7 years and 10 months. The music is fantastic and really captures the vibe of the era. I was also thinking about doing something with the Nokia 3310! Really great execution. Well done!
6 year and 6 month (didn't survive to the car crash). I really like the idea, it's fun and the music match perfectly to the game ! Congratulations !
I got to 9 years and 9 months. I thought I would be able to keep going forever, but then screw goblins completely destroyed me! But my phone lasted way longer than an iPhone would have after everything it went through. The nostalgia for those old Nokia's are almost as strong as the phones themselves! Great take on the theme. Very original and engaging!
Simple, easy to pick up, and surprisingly addictive! With a little visual polish, I could see this being ready for a store release :)
haha, love the short games with humor! great entry! There is a bug for ultra-wide screens, so needed to change resolution, but ye... like that entry! cool music also!
A simple game. But I don’t know why you chose those almost toxic colors and gradient, but overall, well done for doing something like this for the compo.
@paulsams yeah I agree, this type of visuals really aren't my strong suit, so I picked something quickly and ran with it. I'd have loved to do a bit of work to improve it at the end but I ran out of time hahaha
@rafa-fiedo thanks for playing and for the info, I'll try to keep other resolutions in mind for future jams, I've never really worked with anything other than 16/9
10 year and 11 months. Simple but fun game. Visuals and music are good. Some more variety of phone disasters would be nice. I was in a lot of car crashes.
very cool game, love the humor and the (not so) subtle message. The whole game worked really well for me, I thought it was well put together and not missing anything. I liked the variety of events that could happen each year, although I was not expecting the screw goblins, they pulled apart my phone and ended my first run. Great job!
Really fun game! The longest I managed to keep my phone alive was 3 years, but I had a great time trying to make it survive longer. I love the idea of constantly repairing and upgrading an old phone instead of just replacing it.
It also brought back some funny memories because I actually had a Nokia like this years ago. That poor phone went through so many ridiculous situations, and somehow it just kept working. Playing this reminded me of all those moments!
Really nice take on the Old Tech theme, and I love the humor behind the whole concept. Thanks for the game, really enjoyed it!
8 years 8 months, great concept! I wish there were more parts to unlock and more variability overall, then I could sink whole hours into it. Anyways, had my fun with it, nice job!
Also, didn't understand at first that you can sell back attached items, almost feels like cheating
@spaint Yeah, selling the components was supposed to give you just a bit of money instead of the full price, or even cost a little bit of money. Right now there's no reason to repair components instead of just, selling and buying it again. But as with most things, it got cut for time.
Anyway, thanks for playing and for the feedback!
The game seems quite simple, but it drew me in, and I ended up playing through it several times:) It’s a great concept, and it includes a wide variety of things that could go wrong with your phone.
