Cute art, and fun concept. Very cozy game!
This is giving Unpacking and I love it, I would genuinely play this as a full game
Honestly, neat :) Like Unpacking, which is also a game I loved. I wanted to have a sense of how many objects were left in the box because I wanted to plan ahead a little. I also would love music - I think music really makes a huge difference to the atmosphere in a cozy game like this.
Very cozy organization game! My only nitpick is that it seemed like some of the items wouldn't snap properly when trying to place them. I would often have to place them on a different shelf and then reorganize from there. Well done though! art was very cute
Nice game and cute art! It could have a bit more content, but it's jam anyway. As @derek-glennon I also had some issues placing the items because of the snapping. Congrats!
This is a very chill concept. I did find the UI/clicking to be quite buggy - it times I couldn't drop a box off, even when I let go of the mouse or clicked repeatedly. Also, the bookshelf photos it took seemed to be off? But I love the concept. Might help debugging to know I'm on a 4k screen if it's not scaling right? Just a theory though. @debugman18 @megalukes Thanks! It was my first time doing pixel art so I was sort of learning how best to use palettes and shading as I went.
cute cozy game!:)
This was a lot of fun! Even though you were not really told how to organize your bookshelf, it was still fun to choose rules for myself and try to follow them :D It is very much the joy I get from organizing my own bookshelves ^^
I also ran into the same problem @guyingrey ran into, the bookshelf photos were a bit off. This did not stop my enjoyment at all though :) A bit of calming music would have really completed the experience I feel.
Reall well done!
I love cozy organizing games like this!
I'm confused by my goal. but i suppose there is a simple delight in organization. great names!
simple, but so cute and cozy! love games like this :) nicely done!!
A cute game. But not sure if this is a bug. Sometimes if I place the book in front of the box, then it can't be chose or picked up again.
Lovely art and story
The color palette is really pretty and MotherBoard said she is proud of me so good game
Sadly i coudlve not take a picture after i won (or i think i won) cause i couldnt press anywhere after 5th?? time friends gave me books, and this game Really lacks a chill background music
Super relaxing game, loved ordering the books by volume (and color while the volume were missing). The sent photograph didn't capture my collection but that's not a big deal, good job for creating that cute game :)
The way I screamed the first time a different-sized Leon Spark came out of the box...omg In real-life I organize by genre and then author's last name. Larger books on the bottom shelves. Why would someone give me shade for not doing alphabetical by title??? I did end up organizing by color (which I would never do in real life though I understand some people do...)
Anyway, I am very passionate about this subject, so I loved this game. I also encountered issues with the books being finicky: * There's a bit of separation on the top shelf, so the books are floating * Sometimes I clicked on the box and all it did was shake...I'm not sure if this was telling me that I had to stop to take a photo, because after I took a photo, I was able to keep removing books. Thus it was unclear to me when the game was over. After I took one of the photos, I was brought back to the Sense of Shelf title screen with nowhere else to go, which is a shame, since I would've loved to finish organizing. * Would have loved some simple music to complete the mood, and maybe one SFX of just putting books onto the shelf as they slide into place.
Anyway, this game was enchanting! Thank you!
Sweet little cozy game. I love it!
Very cute aesthetic! Play ours too!! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/58/blackmail-exe
The game does scratch the sorting itch we all have, good job on that. Some books were glitchy and kept sticking to the box, and with their small size I didn't always see at first. I would've liked an option to take pictures before clearing out the entire box, perhaps fore different results like my firends mocking me for the half-filled boxes around? But of course I know time was short.
@debugman18 @arianaraine @tangling @zozieee @takhomasac @eugenik @soleil @toxoplasma @ildfuglen Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad to hear that people were understanding the vision!
@guyingrey @wuppos @pimeko There's always something you forget to consider... It was my first time working on screenshot system like this, and even more with only a portion of a screen, so I hadn't even considered that the pixels it would be targeting would be based on the current resolution... Thankfully, it means that the next time I work on something like this, I'll be sure to account for it.
@derek-glennon @megalukes @yuxin I vastly underestimated the difficulty of dragging objects around. There was a lot of ironing things out, but it seems I still missed a couple spots, thanks for pointing these out!
@raysplaceinspace @vasea123 Yeah, music and sound effects were something that I was very distraught we wouldn't have the time to include. Definitely think it would have enhanced the vibes we were going for. On the bright side, neither of us are musicians, so the music we made probably would have been kinda bad anyways.
@bigtex Thank you, I was very proud of them!
@ranarh That's a great idea! Could have the rest of the in-progress pictures show up as some sort of album in the post, too. Thanks, this'll be something we consider if we keep working on this!
@carraka I can definitely feel the passion! Genre and author names were some methods we considered as well, but, well, 72 hours and all that. Thanks for catching some of those issues too. There are definitely some parts that could use some additional clarity, and some music and sound effects would really complete it.
Thank you everyone for playing, reviewing, and leaving a comment on our game!
Cute and comfy game. Had fun seeing all the titles. I think the screen scaling messes up the photo though.
