Appreciated this a lot. I was the character in this story once. It's hard to grow up in a world where your parents see you as an extension of themselves. Very well-written game and thank you for sharing

touching storytelling!
The story is really strong! The simple visuals and soundtrack help you stay focused and work great for immersion.
Great game! It's obvious the game is personal, and it comes across very well. I like the way the gameplay flowed: having the same options, but ultimately everything ending up the same. Well executed storytelling!
absolutely stunning!
Really lovely game! I love narrative games that feel this personal and moving.
Nice game, its rare for me to have patience to properly play/read full story jam game like this to the end. Writing is nice, though gets repetetive for obvious reasons. The mood is really nice. Imo the ending felt slightly flat for me since I did not really get the collector, but i like the direction and story the game told.
God this hit hard for some reason. Good work, nothing else to say... Except I think there was a "Them" nametag missing in some screen at the mall I think
cool art!
It's touching.
Would be good to have a bit more agency, but perhaps, that the point of the game - to NOT have it?
I'd call it more of an experience than a game, then :)
Still, thank you for making it!
Not a big visual novel buff, so I don't have a lot of point of reference for the execution, but it worked for me. The night character as 'collector' didn't make that much sense to me, felt a bit like tryng to shoe-horn the theme in, but that's ok . For me personally the music kind of carried the mood quite a bit, so sort of a shame since thats not ranked I assume its third party. Anyway the main thing is that the story-telling worked pretty well emotionally, and I have to admire going for such a personal theme. A welcome change of pace while doing ranking.
OH, Ren'Py! I want to use this as well, but the team that I usually do game jams with can never seem to get on board. I guess I also lack writing skills, lol. This was a very cool entry. Great job! =)
I'm curious what content you left out due to time constraints, as it seems entirely complete! In particular I thought that it was a good choice to end the game before actually coming out. It felt like anything else would've undermined the long buildup. There's a sense of liberation no matter what They might say in response.
A very relatable story — I went through something similar with my parents. I think many people will find something familiar in it too. I really liked the music, it added a great atmosphere. Good job!
Like the writing, not passive not agressive just as i like it
