@oxnh thanks! Forgot to make it public
Nice game! Really like the concept of taking a simple classic game and adding a twist.
I found navigation to be a bit hard, especially given how dark the game is. Maybe being able to "automatically" swim instead of using space would help?
I liked the simplistic graphics and maybe I would add some sort of explanation on what counts as adjacency (took me some time to figure out if the diagonal boxes are adjacent or not)
Thanks for the submission, good job!
@ssiannas Thank you for the feedback! Since I had a bit more time before the jam deadline, I've improved the performance and UI a bit. Things are much brighter now. I also added a note about diagonals to the instructions.
Cool take on minesweeper, definitely one of the most fun games I've played from the jam so far. The control scheme worked good for me. Only criticism is that maybe an ambient background track would be nice, because as it is the relation to the theme is pretty weak. But a brooding underwater type track could really sell it.
I love the concept of 3D minesweeker! I had a lot of fun. Sometimes, the mouse did some weird things where it just moved 180 degree away from the field.
@oxnh Thanks! I have added some music as you suggested, great idea. I would've liked to add some bubbles and fishies, but not enough time left I think. Appreciate your feedback
@ollulf Thanks for playing! Not sure what happened with your mouse, the only time I change the camera dynamically is when the map starts, I snap you to look at the cubes. Might be a specific browser issue I haven't encountered
Yeah thanks for adding the music. It really lifts the vibe, you should opt back into the mood category.
I like the idea of putting a twist on an old game! I had a problem where I was swimming back to try and get a better view of the whole cube, and it kept teleporting me. (I'm assuming I was being moved to the opposite side?) It didn't stop me playing, but it made it hard for me to see everything that I wanted.
@bluewoozle Thanks for playing! I appreciate the bug report. Could you tell me your browser and any more details on how to reproduce? I've tried swimming all over the place and I never teleport
I love that it's 3D minesweeper. The dark environment and sound track add to the "depth"ness of it.
Cool minesweeper variant, didn't immediately realize that you have to press shift to swim. I would also like to be able to just walk around the cube.
Clever ! Pretty interesting idea :) Not sure the FPS navigation is the most convenient solution, maybe switching between 6 views (so one per box face) with a bit of camera tilt following the mouse movement would have been more practical  Anyway, nice that you implemented the 3d minesweeper algorithm in such a small amount of time! Good job!
I loved mine sweeper. I played it in school when out IT-Teacher tried to tell us, how an MS-Access-Database is working. It was so boring. I killed so many leassons playing mine-sweeper. I totally love the idea of playing it 3D. The GFX-Design is minimal and clean, very polihed. Thx. This game is on the List for later review (Top 20). Have a good time and many other good reviews.
The music and visuals is great. The gameplay idea is simple and fun. Overall a fine version of the classic 'Mine Sweeper'.
it's very good
Excellent execution of minesweeper! My brain was boiling from transferring the 2D minesweeper decision patterns to 3D :D It's nice that all the usual combinations like revealing by number and flag on LMB and RMB still worked. Also a good idea with a spear to remove unpleasant 50/50 segments.
However, it lacks a quick restart of the current difficulty in case of an imminent loss at the beginning, when you just reveal the field.
The soundtrack and sounds are very pleasant, the minimalist design is very good!
P.S. I really liked the detail with the loss if you step on a mine :D
I love this. Minesweeper in 3D is a lot harder than 2D, but you have put in some measures to help visualise the adjacent cells, which I found really useful. It took me a while to notice that though. The q harpoon might also help me get past the hard cube. I've only managed to solve medium up to now. The choice of ambient audio really fits the type of game, and contributes to an overall relaxing underwater aesthetic and mood. Well done. I'll be playing more of this, I'm sure.
Really love the idea of 3D Minesweeper! The mood and music are spot on. Took me a minute to figure out swimming, but once I did it clicked. Great job!
Loved it! Managed to clear hard difficulty without using spears. Didn't expect it to be so hard to isolate a corner in 3D, had to actually use some deduction (and a bit of luck) to properly play. Background drone adds a lot to the vibe. Very fun!
Whoa! 3D Minesweeper?! That’s such a cool concept! I really like the idea of taking the classic minesweeper gameplay into 3D space. It’s definitely got my attention right away. That said, even with the hints, it felt a bit overwhelming: there are just so many possibilities to consider. Maybe simplifying the logic a bit, like dropping diagonal connections, could help make it a bit more readable and manageable? Still, really impressive work pulling this off for a jam.
Oh no, you lose if you collide with a mine as well? I almost beat Expert... :(
I do find that you tend not to get much information on the first click: some kind of artificial post-hoc generation might make things feel a little smoother. It would also be super cool to only generate solvable puzzles, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms.
