So deep

1) too much text for me to dive into a story

2) cool reflex based battle system, but it doesn't look like fair fight because of same patterns. Maybe field 5x5 can solve this problem

3) it doesnt look like "depth", more like "void" or "hollow", but not "depth"

I liked the story. nice and short with a lot of mystery, not sure if I understand it all but I can see someone making a 50min video essay about the meaning^^

cool twist on the battle mechanic. it reminds me of undertale by not being an exact copy. well done!

Card game with psychotherapy and a chance of death? That I haven't seen before. Nice atmosphere. Interesting writing. Relatable. :) Wish the text was skippable the 2nd time around, but there's not that much of it to become annoying.

I really like the tutorial, and the dialog system was really good - the different fonts, animation, sound. I also like the card and battle UI, well done.

It's probably not for me as I really tried to like undertale but couldn't, which is an obvious inspiration. I would maybe make the battles less quick, and try less dialog at first

Overall, nice complete game, well done!

@spexxilove Thank you very much, "video essay about the meaning" I thought about it during development)

tsukigan 2025-04-10 17:23

@heviosso Thanks! You can skip dialogues after first ending)

Aside from one little bug that caused one card to be in front of the text for one "monologue", I found this game to be quite intriguing and well-made overall. Well done.

I enjoyed the battle system and I would like to have more of it. I get that the narrative/plot is more important here, but dodging attacks on a grid is a fresh look for undertale-style combat for me (it may not be new, but it's the first time I'm seeing a grid there). E.g. I would play 10-15 battles with new attacks against the player of increasing difficulty and call it a good game :D

Perhaps it's the theme to blame as this game would not hit the requirement if not the plot. At these times, I feel like rejecting a theme and opting out of the rating for theme is a valid way to participate, but that's just me.

2 endings is cool in any case, good job.

Ah damn, I clicked "anonymous" instead of "receive notifications". The comment above is mine

i felt like i was walking up stairs yelling the entire way. Then the red fire fired me into the start point. :O Loved the text sounds and typwriter effect. :-)
