Pretty interesting idea, but need to make something like tutorial
Give the opponents more mass to push you around more. I found the difficulty a little low.
I like the pacing and simplicity, and the sketchy visuals work well for this game! I struggled a little bit to understand when to hit vs when to push my enemies to the edge, and what the filled/outlined states convey, so I'm not quite certain how to use those mechanics just yet.
Thanks for sharing your hard work this weekend!
The enemy was not pushing me, so there was not much of a challange, it can be webGL momento. But, big but, I loved the idea and how you guys warped the "sumo" in the summoning. Very cool on the creativity department! Good work <3
Great work I really enjoyed the concept and current gameplay!
Thank you !
Yes the difficulty is almost inexistant unfortunately, I couldn't fix the physics on time and the enemies's attacks were too buggy.
We wanted to give them different sizes/weight to make them more or less easy to push, and a damage system like Super Smash Bros, where characters are more easy to be throwns if they took some damage.
@bearcage The filled red enemy is a bug from webgl, and the outlined player character is because I didn't have time to integrate the final sprites, these are early placeholders
Thank you for the comments !
cool idea would love to see what you could do with more time!
Fun idea. But the enemies need a push. I can literally keep standing without fear. Gave me flashback of old summoning games i played
That's a clever idea w/ a damage/knockback system — if y'all wind up doing any post-LD polishing on this and try that out, I'd love to give it a play!
Fun and original. Need more feedback for actions but pretty cool.
Nice game! Liked how interestingly you have used physics to make sumo game
Had a nice time playing! Hope you having a good Jam!
Nice idea and I really like the art
It's a shame that it's not really in a playable state but nothing that couldn't be fixed later on. I'd be interested to see a polished version
Seriously though, mates, you're doing awesomely; the art style is totally up my alley. Plus, the gameplay is super engaging. You guys are killing it!
Thanks !
Yes @potatofinch I'll try to finish it properly this week, I lost too much time struggling with the pushing physics and I guess I should have implemented AI attacks in priority !
Hey cool idea and graphics! as the other comments mentionned, I'd increase the power of the ennemy. A lot of time I got two screen, one showing me that I won on top of one showing me that I lost, is this a bug? Keep it up!
Great concept! To bad you guys couldn't finish it. I like the visuals! As others have mentioned the difficulty is very low and at first i didn't realise i could dash or hit since it wasn't necessary for pushing them in the salt ring. Great work even in this state
In love with demons from the selecting menu! Didn't really catch on what differences they make but still! Gameplay is fun!
You are really great! The game turned out great!
@eklbirifine No difference sadly, it's just roleplay for now
They were supposed to have different visuals, animations, move sets, and weight
Even if its not finished or polished you did a good job! With some effects and music it would improve drastically, anyway well done!
A good bet, it brought me nostalgia for Atari boxing.
@bearcage@bearcage@bearcage wow, what a profound assessment! Take a look at my team's project, please!! Your analysis is great!
Good concept and fun to play. The only problem is when you win a round and quickly step out of bounds it says you won and lost at the same time. So you can press next level an then click restart and select another demon. Then you have 2 demons at the same time and 2 times the enemies.
the controls are a bit weird and would like the ennemy pushing me. Otherwise good game, good graphics
Every time I push an enemy out, I also face the risk of being pushed out myself. I like this concept of grappling.
Nice interpretation of the theme. However, you literally can't lose until you leave the ring on your own.
Great game idea for this theme. Gameplay has a lot of potential if they are developed further. Visuals were really fun too. Gj!
