The memory mechanism is really innovative, although a little bit buggy. The drawings and story are also amazing. Overall an great work!

Very cool idea with a lot of potential for further exploration! I especially like the ending that ties the mechanic in with the story in a very nice way. I just wish there was more decision making - right now I'm only guessing what I might need, or rather: what I wont need because there's enough space for most. The time during the memory-sorting implies time-pressure and I think some time pressure would fit quite well into the mechanic. Anyway, nice job overall!
Just started cruising through smart filter, and already got this gem! Reeeally nice addition to the visual novel base, gameplay is so tightly connected to the whole idea and main character it's insane.
Good job to all the team for delivering such a beauty :)
Can't really say anything bad about the game, maybe just that after a while I started just tapping all memories to see the whole assortment, before putting them in the grid. So maybe just show all them from the beginning to the right, for player's convenience?
That's a 5* game right there. Brilliant! Not sure whether I got the good ending or not. It said
!>The bad ending?
but I found
!>Rosa
which seemed like a good ending to me?!
Either way this was an amazing experience. I wasn't sure about the piece laying mechanic when it first popped up, but it worked really well with the narrative.
I did have one bug when I was trying to place pieces where they could clearly fit, but it wouldn't accept them. Using a singl block I was able to determine that two squares were showing as empty but were in fact blocked.
Loved the art and sound, and the writing is well done.
Good stuff :8ball:
Great Game! I liked the idea of the "limited space" of memory, but maybe it could be more challenging if every choiche moment of the "memory tetris" would be more limitated by the black zones, forcing me to letting some memories out of the brain. Maybe, working on it, it would have a lot of possible endings! :)
@oddballdave thanks so much ! For the second ending, it's a bit late now but didn't you notice something different about the menu screen after finding what you said you found ?
This was absolutely fantastic. A masterfully crafted experience- I really felt involved in the storyline and the true ending was so satisfying. Probably the best game of the jam.
Really great and touching game! Incredibly clever mechanic as well, really liked it 😁
A well thought out game and good story and some memory puzzle game. Nice interesting way to tackle the theme too. The graphics were cool too, especially the watercolour style background, good work!
What a surprising game! Congrats for all the work you provided ! Your game is awesome, i love it! Interesting take of the theme, truly emotional
Thank you once again for... Euh... for... Excuse me, why am i here ? :hushed:
Really impactful story, it surprised me how much it got me :_) I was engaged from start to finish.
It was unclear how much impact my choice of memories to leave behind really had on the story, but for a single playthrough game I'm not sure that's important; I think how well the mechanic ties into the story and theme more than makes up for it.
Strong experience and well polished, a perfectly executed jam game IMO. Well done!
Wow this game is so well done! The music art and characters got me hooked really quick and I had to see what would happen next. The memory mechanic was really unique and made me feel like I was making decisions critical to the game's story. Had so much fun with this one!
A very interesting game. Nice use of the theme, and I loved the art and music. Excellent work!
That was such a nice game! The first playthrough, you really feel the frustration from not being able to remember certain things; and the fact our memory box shrunk every time was really cool because it added to that feeling and to the atmosphere. I think the game is realistic in this sense - tackling a topic of old people forgetting important stuff. I did go through the second playthrough, prompted by ...? in the end of "bad ending" phrase. I think it was implied enough that I should start the game again, and I did see Rosa! That last scene in colour with them smiling was adorable ^^ gotTrue.jpg
Little nitpicks: When Rosa appeared, her sprite with huge eyes looked a bit too creepy, maybe you could work on it a bit? When she smiled and closed her eyes everything looked great. I had a problem fitting "My name" at one point, the space was clear but the detail didn't want to highlight itself: memorybug.jpg
Overall, I liked the idea of the game, the mechanic of the memories and the feelings it invokes in the player. Background looked really cool. Pictures on the memory blocks were great as well. The sprites of the characters - I think could be improved, but of course I am not expecting AAA graphics from a game jam game, and I think the old man sprite was really well done.
Wow! That was such an impressive amount of content. I kept expecting the story to end quickly, but more and more kept coming. I'm really curious to know your technique for managing such a large story space, with different dialogue options. Really really well done.
