interesting game, the one on the ld site didnt quite work for me so i played the html one ont the other site. over all it was a pretty fun game nice job.
Nice game with clean pixel art, congrats for the submission! My one complaint is that if you dig a hole right on top of the coffin, the tombstone will appear on the tile above player but it can't be seen since the player sprite is blocking the view (I often tried to move up after burying a coffin only to be blocked because I didn't realize that there was a tombstone there now)
Very cool game, feels very polished. Also liked the use of the theme!
After I had a go, I sat on the title screen for a while to enjoy the music, and after a while, I noticed a rather _thrilling_ riff. Anyway, I'm not a massive fan of "just stave off the inevitable"-style games, but this one is pretty well done! And I like how the gravestones ramp up the difficulty by making it harder to move around. About my only complaint is that it's sometimes hard to line yourself up properly with the grave you're trying to dig.
Fun game! But it can be frustrating when a coffin spawns that you can't reach to dig.
It took a minute to realize I needed to hold x to get past the menu screen (mostly my fault). I love all the little visual effects! The gravestones are a neat way to ramp up difficulty.
Feels really polished and was really fun to play until I trapped myself between tombstones and went game over :D
Art style looks super good, and I like your use of music!
I laid 41 souls to rest. Don't know how that compares, but I enjoyed the game a lot. If I had one piece of feedback it would be to make the character's hate shorter. I often couldn't see obstacles I was running into while pressing up. But maybe that was intentional?
@johnsensei Wow 41 souls is a really good score, I usually get low thirties. Yeah not seeing what's behind/above you can get confusing, and a shorter hat would help. One feature that didn't make it into the jam version was humorous epitaphs on the gravestones when you were next to them--that would probably help too, guess that's one for the post-jam version. Thanks for playing! :)
This game is pretty simple, but it was quite enjoyable due to the combination of the sound and visuals.
At some point it becomes really hard to navigate the graveyard and I think this is where your theme interpretation is **burrowed** (giggles).
After I realized that I can dig things from a side, things became a bit easier (this was my 2nd run, score attacked). I made a few mistakes, but I think I wouldn't score more than ~45 anyway.
It's good to see more PICO games as they tend to work quite well in the browser. :D The also have this retro feel that I like.

It's also quite fascinating that you provided so many desktop builds (windows, linux, macos) in addition to the web export. :D
@quasilyte Pico-8 makes it really easy to generate various desktop builds, one command gets you Windows, Linux, Apple and Raspberry Pi, another gets you the web build. It makes submission hour a lot less stressful! And yeah, Pico-8 is great for jams like this, feels almost custom-made for making quick little jam games. Glad you enjoyed the game :)
@extar Aha, fascinating! I heard about Pico-8 before this jam of course, but never learned any details about it apart from it being "something retro". I learned something new today. :)
Nicely done, I really like the music.
Your pico-8 art is really clean!
Great music also.
The only complain I have is sometime two coffi's spawn with a shared tiles, when you dig at that tile only one of the two coffin get transformed in tombstone and the other one is locked.
The game offers cool art and music, creating an immersive atmosphere. However, it suffers from somewhat unpredictable path blocking, leaving players feeling like they lack control. Overall, it delivers a unique and enjoyable experience. Loved the Thriller reference.
At first, I thought this game is going to be easy until I realized that the gravestones are blocking my path and my space are limited!! Fortunately, I was quick enough to bury the coffins despite the limitation and 57 souls were laid to rest before I went insane. Good game BTW.
