I enjoy the idea and interaction with people. Unfortunately, after delivering the very fist package, I was not able to find another (nor some instruction). Well, maybe the problem is between the chair and monitor. Overall, it was nice for a short game! Keep going!

Thank you for playing @kar1anne. I updated this page based on your feedback. I'll fix the itch page once I get some time. Instructions tend to be one of my faults. I tired to set the expectation of knocking on the door to get the next package. I'll keep that in mind for the next Jam!

Finished the game, the ending made me smile)

As for feedback: - Some guidance would help a lot, maybe save hints that customers gave you somewhere on the screen or near the customer model. Had to revisit most of them multiple times to find the right one haha - Some environment elements would make it much more pleasant to walk around - Maybe that's the issue on my side, but camera jitters on movement

Loved this game, the art is so pretty! My only strugglt is the keys seems to say you can interact with people using q/e but seems like I had to press space to interact with them which also dropped the package, having to pick it up again when wrong. Would be cool to see what we're deleviring too, but lovely entry overall.

Great game with some very funny moments! I was a little confused at first; mostly about how to tell what was inside each box, until I tried interacting with it. Also maybe the character could have been a little faster, but other than that I really enjoyed it! Good job!

joaopbax 2023-05-03 01:48

The visual style is really cute, I liked it a lot. Also, the narrative is great, its the highlight of the game!

cabritta 2023-05-03 01:53

The art style is really cute (although The shadows/floor disappearing based on distance made it a little confusing). The narrative and writing is nice, I laughed with many customers lines. When the text was bigger it was a little hard to read, as they overlay each other. Maybe costumers dialogues could show up a little higher? Surprising ending, and now I want my 10% discount :)

@bukaanka Yeah. I had so much more I wanted to add. I ran in top that jitter problem and spent too much time to unsuccessfully fix it. So, it made it in the final build. Thank you for playing.

@e-polygon When you're directly in front of an facing people there should be a ? over their head. When you see that, you can press "Q" or "E" or if you're full screen "ALT" and they'll give you a bit of dialog. If that wasn't working, then it's a bug I need to figure out. I've tried the game on Firefox and Chrome, but nothing else. If you're not using either of those can you let me know so I can possibly avoid this problem in future projects?

mrtroy 2023-05-03 02:36

@josephgallear @joaopbax I had so much fun writing the dialog that I forgot to put in the rest of the game.

I usually try and put in the "Shift" key as a run button and just plum didn't this time around.

mrtroy 2023-05-03 02:37

@cabritta That happening was a thorn in my side. I have no idea why that halo was appearing and it didn't seem to happen in any tutorial/video that I looked at, that talked about lighting. Seeing as how that issue plagues so many of my games, you would think I would've found a solution for it by now.

Nope. :frowning2:

thestoff 2023-05-06 05:21

Great game! Really like the aesthetic. Fun concept :D Only point of feedback is that it's hard to read the dialogue sometimes since it overlaps

kasperhangard 2023-05-07 07:17

I really liked the art style on this. I did find it a little bit hard to figure out who to deliver the packages to. I think, if you are building a game where we have to memorise which person is looking for what theme, that should be further worked towards. Otherwise, if you are looking to build a game where you deliver packages quickly, maybe try to give the people a look that explains what they want eg. the person who wants an exercise book should be wearing fitness clothing. Also i think it would be fun if we could throw the package from at distance, and we knew who to give it to, just to add some physics fun! Great idea nevertheless

@thestoff I've slowly been trying my best to improve my dialog delivery(😏️), so knowing that various punchlines come when characters are talking over each other I didn't once think "Maybe I should do something so the text is already readable" instead of "This is hilarious! People are going to play the game multiple time to get all the dialog"

Pair that with the fact that you can move to read the dialog better, I didn't think people would completely walk away mid sentence, and you end up with players that miss all the jokes. :sob:

mrtroy 2023-05-07 15:48

@kasperhangard Thanks for the complement on art. I tried to keep things simple and develop some kind of consistent style/look for my future game jam games. This way I can focus on game play.

It's funny because I spent more time on dialog than thinking of sight gags that would help the player. I wanted to find a way to convince the player to engage in conversation with the characters so they could say their various wants. And I kind of felt like if a player could just see what someone wanted, a majority of the humor would be lost. Next time I try something like this I'll take that in to account though. :D

I definitely should've made it where you could throw the packages. That could've added a new layer on top of things.

dusho 2023-05-07 17:16

cute art.. simple, yet really good.. the quotes are funny.. nice work.. there is visible twitching of character.. maybe because of camera? maybe some things are not in FixedUpdate() or camera needs to go to LateUpdate()..

mrtroy 2023-05-07 17:28

@dusho Yeah. I ran out of time before I could fix it. Camera movement was in LateUpdate and it still was doing it. :( I did make an updated build with a smoother camera, I'm just hiding/obscuring that version's link until after voting is done. Thank you for playing.

od-wreckz 2023-05-07 18:01

Very interesting game. Was very confused until I read the instructions that are on the itch.io page. Loved the art style and ending.

music made it ahahah just GROOVY af

brovovar 2023-05-16 21:45

Nice little one. I think it would be cool to have some kind of penalty for delivering a package to wrong person.
