Really good job! The sounds blending with the music is nice. The movement is confortable and responsive. I would have been nice if the the golems got progresivelly stronger or something but overall nice game ^^
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD52 → Golem Problem

Awesome take on the theme!
Fun game ! :) Really liked how you could choose how much stuff you wanted to fight at a time by planting more, really cool mechanic!
Veeery interesting concept, it could easily be expanded into a bigger game. I really like the idea of planting and farming enemies in a literal sense, very cool.
Small and delicate game. Good teaching tool for exponential function.
I really like this one, The art style is effective :)
Really liked the art style and the fact you can make the game harder or easier depending how you play it. Nice take on the theme!
Nice game i liked the visuals. Also, its amusing how similar our ideas were
Great game. The enemies could get harder on the higher values and there should be a higher reward, if i seed more golems at the same time. Ui and controlls are great!
Simple but pretty cool ! I liked the risk-reward balance between trying to grow more golems at the same time while not getting overwhelmed.
The music was okay but kind of repetitive and I was disappointed the end didn't involve giving my Ma the raccoon :( It felt like there was a disconnect between the description's story concept being "I need to buy a raccoon" vs the "Golem Problem / Golem NO Problem" title dynamic that implies instead a story about golems being a problem. (I did enjoy the cheeky title change after makign sure the Golems are no longer a problem, though.)
I liked that the game is as hard as you make it with how many golems you can plant at once, but boy was I hurting for a while to get my health back. Some heart seeds or something that you could buy at the store would have been nice.
I loved this game haha. Simple, great playthrough, not too long and overly complicated, clear goal, good humor. The only thing I would have liked to see is some sort of behavioural difference between the different golems.
Great concept, planting your enemies is a cool take on the theme! I liked that I could set my own difficulty by choosing how many to plant at a time. I think a bigger incentive (other than efficiency) to plant more golems to encourage bigger risks would be a fun next step. I got into a good rhythm by the end with planting a new one as soon as the last one emerged, but I was definitely playing it pretty safe. Didn't want to miss out on that nice raccoon, after all!
Really fun game! Simple and efficient ! I wasn't able yet to get my raccoon but I will keep trying :)
Fun game, one of the few where I really liked the description before even playing it. Easy to pick up and pretty addictive once you get going. Living for the walk animation. Agree with @tetrapteryx, Really liked how you could choose how many enemies you wanted to deal with as a spin on setting a difficulty level
Really simple yet engaging. I like how the forks stay in the golems. Wish that there were more attacks for the protagonist. Lol'd at the pun on the ending panel, great job :)
At my third try, I was SO CLOSE and then died at the last shot before getting the last seed I needed...
Overall the game felt pretty good, the growing golems thing was really clever and visually it was nicely handled, both in palette and design (the animations especially were so endearing in their simplicity).
Shooting felt snappy enough. I just wish the golems were a bit more varied and most importantly that there was some way to recover health after losing it. Felt pretty hard to endure wave after wave of enemies, and fighting them off felt a bit repetitive after a while as their attack patterns were always the same and you always had the same weapon to fight them off with. The health bar was also somewhat hard to see (especially since it was jumping around with the protagonist), could have used a different color perhaps and a bigger size to make it more easily readable at a glance.
Music was pretty nice, although the SFX would blend a little too much with the music and it wasnt always clear if I was able to hit an enemy or not.
All in all, pretty good submission!
I loved this! I almost beat it the first time but they got me! I tried again and got down the pattern and beat it! I have visions of the future where this game has a little different AI for the different ores, and different weapons you can choose to upgrade to. This is an excellent entry thank you.
P.S. I particularly liked your pixel art. Excellent work.
Really cool idea with choosing your own difficulty.
