Surprisingly fun!
Hello, your link isnt working
Great game, the soundtrack was great and Larry was good.
Really well made, but a little repetitive for me, if you had more time I would have suggested that you add more enemies beside spiders. Good job!
Nice, feels like a large game. Didn't expect an actual boss fight with boss fight mechanics :) Only bad thing I can think of are the spider sounds that become a bit annoying when there are many spiders. Also, really like the art style!
@JoshKirby forgot to publish on itchio. The embed at the top of this page should have worked too. itch.io version now live, thanks for letting us know
Really fun game and the boss fights were great. Managed to beat both of them and win the game :)
I really loved the boss encounters! And humor was spot on too)
fun art style and audio! silly, yet serious with those boss encounters. overall a nice entry!
This was really fun and pretty well fleshed out for a jam game! I think the stamina meter is a little harsh, it seems to hang at 0 for quite a bit. The boss fights were cool and well done :)
Silly game :)
Short and sweet, felt pretty easy but got harder w the boss fights.
This is quite impressive for a 1.5/2 days of work!
Two boss fights with completely different mechanics is not easy to make (even though I think they could have been a bit more difficult). ;)
Well done anyways !
I like this game very much. The mouse is cute, got attached to it too fast :) Was not expecting two boss battles :D. The talking plant thing was a fun addition to the game :D. Won the game with 1 heart left.
The game was really fun. I love the boss fights! However if you run away from the spiders and then see them again, they're frozen and won't attack you. Other than that, the game is really entertaining and has a good sense of humor.
awesome job! the boss battles are so well designed. I did just run through all the spiders & never got to regret my actions xD Greate Job Loved it!
Great production especially considering ~2days timeframe. Both boss battles were very cool and felt good. I was really hoping/afraid that Larry would come after me after I hit him.
Not sure if this was me only, but targeting with heavy attack was rather complicated. I would also suggest dodge use another resource rather than stamina. For example I got crowded by spiders after unsuccessfully trying to hit them with heavy attacks and could not dodge out of their way.
But overall had fun, looking forward to see something new from you in the future.
Very cool! The mouse in the wheat field image is very strong, makes for a great atmosphere, and it's a refreshing non-literal take on the theme. I wish there was more running under the grains, and less following the clearing, but for a jam game, this is a great proof-of-concept that I can see working as a bigger game. And you still have a lot of content, with boss battles and all, very impressive.
I had a weird one-time issue on itch where I couldn't move on the first load, but then I played the embed without issues, and then itch worked fine too.
The boss fights were amazing design wise! It was good fun to zoom around with the little mouse. Great work, especially on a budget timer.<3
Nice work! I enjoyed the boss fight :) Controls feel a bit strange in some situations but I think it fits the mouse setting :D
I like two boss fights especially the second. great work. 123321.png
Thanks everyone for playing the game. We really appreciate the positive feedback and the ideas for improvements and additional features.
@bloodycoin @glaikunt The idea was that Larry the leek was to be the 'final' optional boss. We had it designed in an optional level if you attacked him. We produced a carrot-man enemy that you can see in the title screen and a few new tile-sprites but ran out for time for creating larry the leek's boss logic. It was something we wanted to do as a nod to our original idea we scrapped, it was to be a 3D platformer featuring larry the leak and escaping from a combine harvester.
The idea for another meter for dodging is interesting. Originally we wanted harvesting the enemies to give different bonuses but again ran out of time before we were able to re-vist the idea and left it with just stamina.
@snoopyholmes Thanks for reporting that bug. I think it might be to do with the default settings we used for a lot of navigation work within GODOT. Will require a little more digging but we won't update the game as we like to leave it in the state it was in when the Jam timer finished (unless it is completely broken).
@ghastlymicrowave @yamzho Thanks for the feedback. We were worried about it being too hard and people missing out on the content we created so it was toned down from our original difficulty. We are all big fans of difficult games but think that they don't allow for accesibility in a game Jam setting.
@ditam We wanted there to be more interesting environments as well but alas we prioritised a smaller experience. Ideas we had were - inside of a tree/log, within someones house/garden and a farm area.
That was a lot of fun! Great job getting this done. I think having the stamina gathering count more would make it more effective and I like the idea you mentioned i the comments on different bonuses. One thing that would help would also be letting the stamina bar grow larger so you can see you growth progress in the game as well. Overall had a lot of fun with our mouse friend, and it felt great to play. Can't wait for the sequel to see what Larry is up to now!
The mouse mechanics reminded me of this game, which also features a rat with similar attacks https://store.steampowered.com/app/1283430/Fighting_Fiends/
The early parts was super promising. I liked that you showed off the cat fairly early. Like others, I actually thought the concept of being a rat in a field was really engaging and I hadn't really had that experience before. Having a nice, powerful dash really sealed the deal since you could scurry around like crazy, as a mouse should.
Overall I loved the idea. Dark Souls but a field mouse is a great pitch lol.
pretty good game..pixel art is good...cute with those sound effects..nice controls with mouse but keys were not working...had fun tho..loved it
