I like the graphics and atmosphere a lot, it's very cute! Different mushroom workers with special abilities could be a nice addition with more level design. I enjoyed my short playthrough, thanks!

The little glow effects really added a lot. I might have gotten stuck on level 2 and wasn't sure how to progress. I thought the little mushroom dude were also cute. I think some sound effects could have really made this game shine. Congrats on making this in a weekend! Cheers!
I like the idea, kinda reminds me of lemmings where you had those mf walking around doing stuff, but here you need to grow them to progress, but i feel like this game could use some better level design, the second level fore example is just a lot of running around back and forth, a bit more linear design would work better imo, a cool idea imo would be to add water that washes away your fertalizer, so you need to find a path that won't have water to progress
But overall i liked this game, it's very cute, and the glow is nice
I struggled a bit to understand what I should be doing, but I understood it after a few tries. Second level felt really repetitive, but I liked the idea. Interesting entry and congrats!
Well done in the time you had. I liked the graphics! I did think it was a bit difficult to understand what to do in the game, as mentioned above as well :).
Yay! shroom_youwin.png
I didn't fully understand what was the fertilizer, but I figured it out. A sort of in-game interactive tutorial would be nice. All the moles going into one place on the map shouldn't really do that, lol. Of course it's a time thing, you did many things in this entry anyway, so great job! The art is cute too.
@suchista My original goal was actually to add an interactive tutorial, but I ran out of time :( Maybe in a future version of this game...
Great game!
Seems like the HTML version is not complete, as I cannot jump or collect anything. Art looks nice tho
Cute! Would like some additional work to it, but for one developer game it's just great
Whilst very clearly rough around the edges, this is an interesting concept! I like the idea of having to assemble enough miners to break through and beat each level- I think there's room to expand upon some of these concepts and flesh it out into something really cool! Maybe there are different types of mushrooms you can cultivate to serve different purposes- say for example the miner mushrooms are out of reach, and you need a different type of mushroom to be able to get there! Awesome job!
I love your sprites! But I never like the look of the hi-res light objects mixed with pixel art, those lights kinda ruined the magic of your artwork. Also, even though its a simple sidescroller, I was motivated to play until the end. Great mood, and cute little game.
I won! :D Ignoring the little bugs, it's a fun time. Good work :)
Hell yeah, I created an army of mushroom dudes and escaped :sunglasses:
Super cute art and nice animations!
Some very basic sound effects would have added a lot, I recommend https://sfxr.me/ for easily creating your own.
This game isn't the best. The fun and overall enjoyment are lacking, and it doesn't have much in terms of innovation. The theme is okay, but it could be better. The graphics are pretty bad and the mood of the game is not great. It's not the worst game, but it's not the best either. It could use some improvements.
I struggled to figure out what I was meant to do with the fertiliser. In the end it felt like I was supposed to press Z on those 2 tall mushrooms(?) near the entrance and then run to a small mushroom, at which point it turns into a miner, but I couldn't get it to reliably work and so I'm not sure I had the right end of the stick.
I think what would have helped, knowing that adding an interactive tutorial is too hard to do for a jam, would be to throw together an annotated picture with the sprites you've used and what keys I'm meant to press on them. A rough and ready illustration like that would probably only take ten minutes but would really help unsuspecting players. This is something I wish I had thought of doing for my game as well — it's hard to predict what people will have trouble knowing what to do and yet the time to add an interactive tutorial doesn't come when you are busy making the game itself good!
Once I half-figured it out, it was fun. Could have used a few more levels but that may just be the nature of gamejams :D. Thanks for the game!
