I like the artstyle, its simple but works pretty well! It's definitely really hard, I was a bit dumb and didn't read the instructions so didn't know how to craft campfires first try, but once I read it it became a lot easier. (it would've been nice to inform the player in game though)

I had no idea what to do when I plazed it. I just frooye a couple of times.

But zou maged tocreate quite a consistent art style. I reallz like the look of the world

I love the low poly voxel artyle in this game.

Looks like a great start to a 3d environment! Wish there was a fullscreen mode though. Couldn't quite figure out how to make a fire - F did nothing, even when I had logs :-(

Nice art style, the placement of the campfires felt difficult to me.

Good job!

Nice art style and gameplay idea. It was simple and effective. It took me a while to get the hang of what I needed to do, so I died often at first, and needing to reload the page was annoying.

Some more feedback for the player would go a long way. I did notice there was a puff of smoke when a log would run out in the fire, so that was helpful. However, having a better sense when a fire is about to run out for good from a distance would be nice. It was also not clear at first that I needed 4 logs to build the campfire, so F was "not working" for a while. Collecting the logs was somehow more difficult than I felt it should be, too.

I did eventually make it to the end, which felt like it was just the right amount of distance. Good job on your submission!

@maaack Thanks for the feedback. Unlucky timing but I just updated the game adding instructions for the start and UI buttons for restarting.

adinimys 2022-10-05 16:29

Did not manage to make it to the end after several attempts. The timings are hard to evaluate. It's hard to know when is the last point you can start building the campfire and if you start too late it's over regardless of whether you have enough logs or not. Plus it was hard to understand if how useful feeding the fire was. Also I don't know if I had a bug or of there is no sound ? Some simple sounds would help a lot the mood of the game as well as the feedback for the players Nice simple esthetic though you manage to create a nice simple scene with really few resources.

Having a lot more logs, especially closer to the start might make it easier to get going.

I like the art, that's why I clicked on your game ! I had a hard time at first, some feedbacks would be great to make things easier, then I found it pretty fun but I missed my last campfire, I started just a little bit too late and it didn't make me want to restart and go see the end, I'm curious on what the end was though. The mouse sensitivy was too high for me also, I turned around and missed my fire a lot :D

seanjordan 2022-10-06 22:21

@lene Hey thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback, I'll make sure to add in an options menu for mouse sensitivity.

Good job ! I like the art !

The gameplay is really simple but it works.

Well done :)

dodyman 2022-10-09 16:22

Nice game play and the art style fits quite well! :)

Took me a while to figure out my strategy, but then it was very fun. Hopping from fire to fire, collecting a bit of wood and then running to the next best spot while hopefully still collecting some wood on the way was just the right amount of stressful.

I entered the green area and build a fire there, then I didn't know what to do. It was only when I tried to build a second fire on the black spot that I won. That was confusing, maybe you could do something about that.

Pretty fun game, loved the risk vs. reward of deciding if I had time to grab just one more log before running back to the fire. Took me a bit to realize that you can craft a fire while moving, which is pretty handy. Nice job!
