The embedded version doesn't seem to be working for me, unfortunately. But it looks like your interpretation of the theme was similar to mine (I also did a game based on a radar that updates every 10 seconds).

EDIT: The windows version runs fine on Linux using Wine. I really like the console-within-a-game presentation, although the gameplay itself seemed a bit lacking in variety. Fun twist at the end. A nicely polished game overall.

This game was fun and cool! Best part was the narrative though!

Hi- just wanted to mention that the Itch page is hidden or down! Will come back later to give it a shot (no big deal if it's just download-only).

gnawnitsuj 2022-10-04 04:10

Hello! Thanks for letting us know, The Itch page should be up now! Thanks for letting me know!

Edit: There are some current known issues with the game on itch.io. The game was never really intended to be played within a browser and we will attempt to fix the game.

2022-10-04 04:34

Note: As of now the itch link is still problematic due to the mouse capture script designed for windowed view causing issues when thrown into a browser: Depending on your settings it may crash your browser. For now please use the downloads instead.

Itch.io browser version works fine for me, using both Chrome and Opera on a Windows machine. Transition between scenes may take a few seconds though (with some ugly audio)

Awesome game! Very Iron Lung esk. You should definitely continue developing this, it's really good!

mr-rice 2022-10-05 09:54

shhhhhhh

thanks though lol

mr-rice 2022-10-05 09:54

also, audio is a little quiet, you may need to turn up volume to hear everything properly

mr-rice 2022-10-05 09:55

and, if you want to replay, skip dialogue button is on top right

Dude why does this have to be so sad? lol, I like this game, I'm a sucker for sad / disturbing stories, and the shock value they leave in a person, love the emptiness and sense of dread these story can make you feel, (of course not in a bad way, I don't enjoy watching the world burn lol). anyway I really like this game, I think it could use some more mechanics, maybe collectables to give the player a sense of purpuse for a while at least, I couldn't for the life of me find a good strategie to dodge the enemies for too long, they always get me Haha, had a lot of fun playing this game tho, nice entry!

also I think you guys should play some more games if you want more traction towards yours, best of luck!

steve7411 2022-10-06 03:47

I think this is the start of a really interesting full game

birdy-games 2022-10-06 04:18

Interesting game. Stands out from the others, but is a bit difficult to play. It took me a while to understand which screen to look at. but i ended up liking it. Nice job!

Note: While revising a few awkwardly worded sentences this morning we've accidentally checked the "Extra" box even though we've originally intended it a Jam submission. I hereby formally request an F in the chat, bois.

Nice game! @steve7411 put it best, this feels like the start of something great. I recommend increasing text speed somewhat, it goes pretty slowly right now. The graphics/interface is awesome; so atmospheric!

hexela 2022-10-09 21:08

This is awesome, the mood, the sounds, the visual design of the interfce, the effects of taking damage. Great job. Enjoied it a lot.

gabriel-chan 2022-10-11 21:22

Nice! I really like the radar interpretation! Unfortunately I ran into a small bug with the mouse inputs, it would slowly pan the camera to the right even though I wasn't moving my mouse. I played on the itch.io version. All around good work!

senover-games 2022-10-15 03:46

Great job! I like the narrative and the overall atmosphere. I had a small issue with the camera slowly panning to the side (played the web version).

otterfaelure 2022-10-17 19:18

I really loved the concept of this game. The atmosphere was great. The text read a tad bit too slow and my ADHD is acting up today so it was hard to stay focused, but I did! And then the gameplay seemed REALLY neat, but ultimately kinda empty after awhile.

I think I won, but it didn't feel like a win because I ended up just sitting in one spot to get a death scenario.

If this gets expanded on I definitely feel like something other than wasd would be nice during the "gameplay" portion.

Overall though, making complex mechanics in game jams is near impossible because of the short time you have so very very well done. =)

dzolkin 2022-10-17 21:17

Cool game with its own history and cool implementation. I liked the style of the game, the graphics.

dzolkin 2022-10-17 21:17

Good

cole-and-jordan-studios 2022-10-20 01:44

Someone already mentioned it but major Iron Lung vibes here. It really feels like the focus of this game was to stir up a similar mood. In fact, I'm still not sure if I understand the mechanics of the game or not, but I enjoyed engaging with the aesthetics almost more than the actual gameplay if that makes sense. Awesome submission!

madbarron 2022-10-21 03:45

I think the 10 second radar thing is a good idea. The first time, I died while I was still getting my bearings and then was pretty confused by the end text. I still don't really know what the map is for.

kaylalalavalentine 2022-10-21 20:25

Such a haunting and cool vibe!!!
