Love the art and the idea, however, it is impossible to read the text in that short time span. The later sentences are displayed so short, and you need to read both people. It just doesn't work in 10 seconds, which is why you thankfully included the slow-down option. But the base idea simply doesn't work with 10 seconds.
Thanks for playing! You're totally right, It is unfortunately just too dependent on the players reading speed, which can hardly be trained. By the time we realized it wasn't easily circumvented (Key words or highlights made it too easy), it was too late to reorient. So we put in the slow mode as a compromise for people who want to see all the cases and content.
Sometimes the design just gets away from you, but thats why jams are such a fun experience.
The concept is great, and the art is really cool. But 10 seconds is really not enough to experience any of this game and its writing. 10 seconds is just simply not enough for this idea to work well - takes away from the enjoyment of the game as a whole. And I know how to speed read
The casual option is much more how this game should have been from the start.
WOW amazing art work, the animation on the two caracters are beautiful !! the music is great and stressfull. However as a non english native even with the 30s there was way to much text for me to analyse. Between the pun and simply the inculpation, way to much for me, even with a few try,i could'nt finish th easy mode. Maybe make the inculpation text way shorter so that we only focus on the caraters.
Great work, amazing art work
Since 10 seconds overall seems too short, maybe the lawyers could say their next argument every 10 seconds, if you still wanted it to work with the theme. The art style looks awesome by the way!

Art is awesome, and the concept is really really good, but I agree with the above that the 10 seconds is just too short to read all that text and make a verdict, I'm glad you added an option for 30 seconds as that made it a bit easier. Really cool game overall though, and the different cases were funny.

Beautiful artwork!! It would fit perfectly in any sort of graphic narrative.
My first playthrough (on Easy) was not very easy haha! Ten seconds was definitely not enough to read about the sordid case involving cryptocurrency ... but fortunately, you provided an option to play at a 30 second pace. I definitely appreciated that.
The UI was a little bare bones. I think you could have applied some of the awesome artwork to it!
Thanks everyone, we're so glad you enjoyed it!
@turquoise-moon changing it to timing per argument did occur to me, but it occurred to late for me to figure out how to do so without the time pressure turning into "just wait for them to finish talking". If I'd thought of it at the very beginning, probably coulda worked it in. Ah well, such is jam design, sometimes you just gotta go with what you got.
@hawkin we had grander plans for the menu, but the artist was running low on time. We got the background of the menus in 9 minutes before the wrap, and the little doodles on the credits page was in the last 30 seconds, literally. So I threw in what I had lol.
@alexis-brochec Glad you enjoyed it! Non-english speakers didn't occur to me, shoulda added a longer option beyond 30 seconds. Picking the music was fun, but proper credit for it goes to good old Kevin MacLeod of Incompetech - track names are listed in the credits.

A really cute concept! It took me a couple tries and the extended timer, but eventually I was able to make it through a couple cases successfully. Blending court and speed is a unique idea, so great work!

Impressive art! You should polish it and release it as a full title
It looks like a paper, please in a new theme.
It was nice to know that the author thought about replayability and suggests simplifying even the easy difficulty with an increased timer.
Cursor hammer animation gives a direct sense that you are like a judge making decisions and passing judgement, very rarely get in games (not including simulators) in general to convey that feeling directly. It seems to be a small thing, which is made by two frames of animation, but such a detail affects the immersion in the project.
The cases are also interestingly parsed and it's nice that they weren't in the same order, as I can tell from the three game sessions. It also allows you to not mechanically rote, but still try to get into the essence. My English is terrible and some things didn't translate all the way through, but it's definitely not the fault of the developers that I know the language so poorly.
There's a lot of work done on the exterior design, the graphics are very nice. Although I try to judge games solely on gameplay, but the kitty in the judge's wig won my heart. The only things that made me uncomfortable were the size of the UI, the size of the case in question, and the centering of the text when typing it. I assume (maybe wrongly) that the developers wanted to mimic the work of the judge's clerk when typing the text, but it gets hard to read.
I apologize for my English, I hope you understood me correctly, I only evaluate projects that I liked and I am aware that my comments simply could not have had time to make during the competition. I wish you do not throw away the idea and see the project after time on personal computers or phones.
Good luck!

I really liked the concept of the game but the theme itself has hindered it heavily. Having the 30 second timer on there really made the difference for me to actually enjoy the game properly. I liked being able to see the silly dialogue the lawyers were discussing about the cases as some of them were very goofy. Very solid game otherwise.

Excellent! The 30 second feature is a great addition too (which i personally avoided but whose existence i appreciate), game's fun and well written, i have nothing to critique about it.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to read the entire text in 10 seconds. Nice graphics, but upset the unity buttons. Overall, good job!

I like the 30 second feature a lot haha. Really helped with the whole game flow. Overall really polished game! I think some of the cases are a bit hard to understand though :x like the one with the 13 steps of stairs and drunken dude thing  Either way I still had fun! Great work!
