This game is a blast! The graphics are absolutely charming, the later puzzles are the perfect difficulty, and I love the atmosphere and spookiness when the lights go out. Just wish there was music and sfx to fit that atmosphere. Well done!

I had a really good time with this, the difficulty curve is perfect and all of the puzzles have interesting solutions which really make you think. Really really great level design!

Great game! Loved the 3d / pixel combo of the graphics. The gameplay was also really nice, I like how you not only had monsters that appear in the dark, but also made it so that you needed the dark to figure out some of the puzzles. That last puzzle was difficult but it was satisfying when I figured it out. I don't think I discovered any problems. Well done!

I really like the aesthetic of this game!

Very fun! I love a timed element on a puzzle game. It was slightly too easy to push things against walls with a single misclick and have to restart a level, while a little more padding before that happens would add to the good pressure of needing to do something fast without feeling so punishing, but that's minor. Overall, fun, cute, and atmospheric. Good job!

Smooth operating game. I enjoyed the simplicity of the mechanics mixed with us having to figure out how to move on. I saw no problems with the game and was engaged the entire time.

Very much got stuck on the "this one is tricky" stage. I spent a good 20 mins on that stage and still couldn't get it! Got any hints?

I thought the time factor for the game changed a lot at first. I was right, but in a different way. I thought that because it was 10s, every level would simply be short, which I liked.

What I didn't realize however, was that I was simply clearing the levels too fast, or hitting R when I thought I wouldn't make it in time lol. So I never actually saw the ghost mechanic until the first stage that had 3 colors on it.

Now that I was playing the REAL game I had a different experience. I liked the interplay of Sokoban + pushing blocks in such a way to protect yourself from the ghost LOS/pathing. It really shook up the normal way to play these sorts of games. Cool idea!

Nice twist on sokobans and clever use of the theme to inject new challenges to a popular genre. The last 2 were pretty tough!

Great little puzzle game! Took a few tries to figure out that last level but got there eventually. Nice graphics, think it would really benefit from a few sfx and some spooky background music but it's difficult with such a short deadline! Great work!

This game was amazing! I got very immersed and the tension was high to move that box on the trigger which made it fun! In the second level when the lights go out and there's the dark demon was terrifying. Art style is amazing, level design is simple but executed perfectly. My only comment was is there a way to get the box not up against the wall? Every time I did that I had to retry the level. I realized that just may be a part of the game. One of my favorite submissions so far, you should be proud of this game and your work - good job!

Definitely tricky on the last two levels, and overall a well-executed sokoban game. I really liked the graphics as well, and the talking pumpkin between levels. I didn't fully understand the ghost mechanic, like was my flashlight repelling them? And sometimes I could just walk through them and not get hurt? Most of the time I just waited until the lights came back on to finish solving. Otherwise though, well done!

Neat solid puzzle, played all the levels through. You have the exact same light-dark-monster mechanics that our game has! :D

I liked the graphics and the puzzles were classical but rewarding. I would have liked some sounds though.

Very fun game and a new interesting spin on an old game concept. Not only do you need to worry about placing the boxes on the right squares but also leave enough space for yourself to escape the monsters during the night. The graphics look great but a few sound simple effects would have been nice to better convey the atmosphere.

@peachtreeoath Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm a bit ashamed to admit I've never even heard of Sokoban before people started making associations to it here  as for the hint, I don't wanna post any big spoilers but I can say for that level, the red box goes in before the green box.

Yeah, I just escaped! Really clever puzzles, with great idea and nice lighting effect too! Well done!

Great game, hard puzzles too. Well done.

This was fun, and had some good puzzles. The last level especially got me thinking.

The darkness doesn't add too much to the game for me. For the most part, when the lights went out, I was able to just wait for the lights to come back on before continuing to play. I know that the button's color assignment didn't show unless it was dark, but you could easily figure this out by standing on them.

Clearly you have some good puzzle design skills. I wonder if it would be interesting if the puzzles leaned more into locking the ghosts away from you. That's how the top right ghost is in the last level before you press the blue button, so I think you wanted to play with this idea as well. If the ghosts had perfect pathing and more speed, the player would need to be careful to lock them away before it went dark, otherwise they would be guaranteed to get caught. Maybe instead of 10 seconds per light/dark round, you and the ghost would only have x number of moves per light/dark round respectively. I think emphasizing the ghost-manipulation in the puzzle design could give the dark more meaning, and could lead to some interesting challenges.

I also want to mention that this is one of the better looking games I've played so far in the jam. Very charming visuals. Good job overall!

nice pixel art! Really enjoyed the semi 3d vibe :) Enjoyed the random comments at the loading screens between each room πŸ˜‚ – Kept me going to see the next one haha. Gameplay was fun and liked the cute ghost guy until I realised he was resetting my roomπŸ˜… Gameplay and mood both really good – My only crit is the light on and off every ten seconds definitely works but maybe it could get more complex somehow? Like a strobe or something - just ideas anyway...

I understood how to play the second time. Nice visualization and interesting concept. I wanted to play longer. Simple, but entertaining.
