The WebGL link redirect to a Windows executable...
@xwilarg I had a problem posting it in the browser, so I only have the option to download.
It doesn't seem to work for me, even after installing the JRE. It says an exception occurred. Shame, I was looking forward to playing it.
Game works well. Too long to kill enemies, and especially the statues. You can trp the monsters so they dont mover and just shoo them
@quinn-patrick I tested it here and I was able to download and play, I don't know what may have happened in your case. :(
Is it possible to upload a JAR? or a web-based version? I'd love to try it on linux :)
@kason-xiv I thought the jar would be useless but I'll post it too
@kason-xiv JAR file is here
@thulyo-araujo that did the trick :> thanks. Sweet game, total zelda 1/pokemon vibes. Kudos for doing something in straight java.
@kason-xiv You don't know how happy you made my day now. Thanks :)
@quinn-patrick It seems to be working now. Download JAR file
@beebster-games Thanks for the feedback :)
@xwilarg It seems to be working now. Download JAR file
It is really cool to see games written in Java. Graphics could be better but I like the old school vibes here.
That last boss's movement was pretty scary when I was at low health, and it killed me a few times, but I managed to win the game! I really appreciate the smooth controls and gameplay, and doing it in straight Java.
It's not a lot of content, but it's a little bit of fun, and it's really cool to write in Java!
I would like to play your game but unfortunately I get a java error ;(
I think the most impressive part of this is that it's done completely in Java. I've done that before and it can be tricky. Great job! Looking forward to what you make next time.
Finally got it to work. I thought it would be enough to have the JRE but turns out I needed the SDK as well. Cool game. I got obliterated by the red blinking one. The way the rapid fire works seems a little strange, where you hold it down and then it activates after a second. Is that intentional?
Very cool that you used only java!
I like the style, reminds me of Final Fantasy I. The combat and the world design is well done. One thing i noticed was that the player moves 2x as fast when going vertically and horizontally at the same time, easiest way is to set the speed to half speed when updating both x&y. I like the enemies and the story as well (PS the jar runs fine on linux, and major props for writing with vanilla Java. If you're interested you should check out Unity. If you know Java you basically know C# already)
Good game but statues are long to kill.
But like it
And GG for do it only in Java
@karahan Java was challenging and for the next game jam I think I will do it with unity. And I couldn't make better graphics, it's something I need to improve a lot. Thanks for the feedback! :)
@jackcaunter Did you manage to win the game??? I thought it was impossible. Thanks a lot for the feedback!
@moonblast Your comment made me very happy! Thanks, java is quite a challenge.
@lomstfer Oh I'm sorry. This is my first game jam, but I'll learn how to use unity for the next one!
@lambbrainz Thank you sooo much. Java is a big challenge and I'm so glad I was able to finish the game!
@quinn-patrick It's intentional, it's a way to make your magic run out fast and the game unwinnable. I'm really glad you were able to play. Thanks for the feedback!
@ludumdaredevil Thanks!!!
@sacredbacon The style of the game is a mix of Final Fantasy, Zelda and Pokémon. I really like these games and I was inspired by them. I hadn't noticed this detail in the speed. I will make corrections! Right now, java is the only way I know of to make games. But I realized that almost all creators use unity. I will learn and use it in the next game jam. And I'm really, really glad you liked the game! Thank you!
@natahan The intention is to take time for the monsters to get to you. But artificial intelligence needs to be better. Java is quite challenging and I will learn how to use unity for the next game jam. Thanks for the feedback!!!
hi! take 20 received!
@marvis Hope I make it, I'm 15. Thanks for coming to review!
Really nice for a first entry!! I lose against the red thing :( it tooks me time to understand that i can just keep pressing X for max damage
@bomb-x I will add better instructions in the next one. Losing in the end is normal. "It's inevitable". hehehe Thank you so much for the review!
Nice game for a first game jam game :D
The gameplay was fluid and generally was pretty fun to play, though with no audio, it does ruin the enjoyment a bit.

@mordsven I didn't have time to make the sound, unfortunately. :( But I'm really glad you liked the gameplay. Thanks for the feedback!
Wow! Making all of this using plain Java is really impressive! The combat felt well paced and smooth. Some enemies took a long time to kill and I didn't quite manage to beat the game. But overall, had a fun time with it! Well Done!
@lakedev The intention is that you can't win. It is "inevitable" to lose. Java is a great challenge and I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!!! :)
