Unfortunately the game kept freezing after about a minute each time. Very nice music though.

Like the last comment I had issues with the game freezing, I love the art though as well as the music.

@idenoh, hi!) Can you please try to download again and tell me if there is such a problem again?)

I tried that second link, and I'm not getting the problem others were describing. However, the music doesn't loop, so I ended up play most of the time in silence. Also, monsters stopped attacking the lanterns/cauldron. Also the collisions were a bit weird on the head and would probably make more sense to only do collisions on the lower half of the body. If you had it this way because of sorting issues, in Unity you can Transparency Sort Mode in the graphics settings to sort by an axis, so lower objects appear in front. I love the sprites and music though, and it was cool how you combined tower defense with survival/collection.

The game play is simple. It's a pretty basic tower defense game but it's okay. I enjoyed the pixel art and the music, the monsters were all interesting to look at and the Halloween ambience is there. A bit more visual and audio feedback during interactions and the monster attacks on the pumpkin pillars would be nice to add a bit of dynamism to the game. A preference of mine would be to make the paths that lead to the monster spawns explicit as they are fixed. More types of actions beside gathering candies could be nice to break the repetitiveness. All in all, it essentially just needs a bit more depth to make it more interesting but it's a good start.

@munsterplop Thanks for your feedback! During the hackathon, we tried to emphasize the atmosphere of the game to understand whether people would like it. Then we'll add more interactions with the environment) If you want, you can join the Telegram channel to follow the progress - https://t.me/mixed_worlds

The idea of a trick-and-treat resource management is a great and fantastic idea. The art is really cute as well. The game lacks some polish or depth, though. Towers should be upgraded, not reloaded, because then your options is either spend candy to defeat monsters or lose candy from monsters taking from the pot. A mini-map would also be useful. Otherwise, really cool game!

riper 2021-10-08 08:27

@thatanonowor thanks for your feedback! In the future we will add a mini-map and make different mechanics of candies and towers, now we will see if this concept of atmosphere is interesting to people

Interesting idea with the resource management, and I do really like the distinct areas of the map, wish the combat was a bit better but overall pretty cool!

Amazing idea, you should really go on with this game and improve it. It has a nice potential.

I like this managment mechanic and idea. Good game and good job!

david-broz 2021-10-11 14:17

Sorry but my antivirus straight up hates your game.

celtican 2021-10-11 15:37

Nice submission! It's an interesting idea that the player plays a passive role in the defense. I also really liked the map, I'm a fan of exploration.

Some things I would have liked to see in the game: - A sound effect for picking up candy, and other juice to accent that event - Likewise, a sound effect for placing candy in the cauldron/tower, and maybe make them jiggle a bit when that happens - Multiple portals that the monsters can come through. Perhaps they would randomly pick one or two portals to go through. Alternatively, you could remove the three unnecessary towers, they didn't seem to do much - A "big" candy that gives you 5 candies when you pick it up - Tiny variation in monster health/speed, just call `MathUtils.RandRange(x, x)` on start to add a good bit more life - When space is held, continuously add candy to the cauldron/tower, preferably at an increasing rate

Good job, see you in LD50!

I love halloween mood in your game ! Fantastic graphic and music. Well done!

I liked the game! It has interesting concept and nice graphics but also has some problems and that`s not about stacking in the woods enemies. It kinda feel boring after the second wave and totally killing after the third when you feel like you understand the game totally but still need 50-100 candies to bring. It may be better to speed up the whole game like twice so there will be more "micro-moves" between enemies or another option is to make like 3 times more enemies and make the real zombie-land because at this moment map feels empty. The third solution may be to turn off the light and make a small vision-circle around the player so it will be harder to see situation around but it will be harder to find candies too. Probably the really nice solution may be somewhere in between these 3. Anyway, great job guys!
