Nice game! The sounds are top notch
I like the fact that the character has a model when you look down, and a shadow, although the controls felt a little bit delayed when I stopped walking.
Great work! The only problem I felt that the time resetter was not clearly indicated. There were a lot of item on the ship and at first I was thinking that to be one of those items only later searching for a while I found that the character was spawned beside that only.
@osh-studio I'll try to improve player controller for the next game I make, thanks for the feedback!
@souptik-datta I understand. I didn't manage to get a text hover the time resetter and the drop point so I had to drop the idea and put an image in the title screen. And the placement wasn't the best either but I wanted to orient the player to let them go head's on the gathering
Hated this at first, ended up loving it. I'm not sure if the movement was janky on purpose or because of the tight time constraints, but getting used to the delay between ending a key press and the character actually stopping moving was very annoying at first, but became very endearing after a minute or two of getting used to it (I'm generally someone who enjoys more off kilter movement systems though, so I may not be the best person to ask). I think the concept has very serious legs as a game I'd enjoy if you wanted to add more levels and polish it further. Adding things like shortcuts (similar to when you have to drop down from the tunnel to put the core in, but maybe unlocking a permanent shortcut by dropping a lever to put up a ramp or something) could help with that. Or a skip to next loop button--sometimes I'd finish a loop with just barely not enough time to go get the next core, and I'd have to sit and wait for the loop to end so that I could start the next loop. Or changing up the movement, making it so you run faster backwards, or move faster while jumping, etc. These are all just dumb ideas I had while playing your great game. Loved it!! Might do a playthrough on hard next. [Screenshot (74).png](///raw/406/f3/z/44a5a.png)
@ucsbdad It was kind off the first movement script I did by following tutorials and trying to adapt to my needs. For sure it's something I would improve in the next games. I though about unlocking part by clicking on some levers but I didn't got the time to do it.
It's kind of my bad because I didn't think about it, but there's a little module beside the ship that allow you to reset the timer when you click on it so you don't have to loop all the time, might be easier by using that. Feel free to try it again!
@wamien Ah, I thought the reset lever was hard mode only haha, that's super helpful. I followed you on Itch, so I'm looking forward to whatever you make next!
@ucsbdad thanks a lot! I'm not sure if I will upload games or prototype yet, maybe for the next game jam!
Good game but it's somewhat repetitive. I like the models tho they are good.
Nice game!At first I found it is hard, but when I realized that the refresh time would also be enhanced by the cube, I was very pleasantly surprised.
@sploky I didn't had enough time to implement way of unlocking places and stuff, but it's something I'll look in the future. I had a feeling that 30 cubes were a lot but I decided to stick with it because 20 seemed to be not enough.
@kutaryoushinkoku Glad you enjoyed it, I hope that you manage to get all the cubes!
I'm not sure why, but for the first portion of the game the mouse controls weren't working. I had some lag while playing it, but I did enjoy gathering the cubes up.
@ildfuglen I was using cursor.locked parameter in Unity, but pressing escape and click on resume it should fix the issue. Anyway glad you enjoy gathering the cube!
I always find games like this quite compelling and can easily imagine people trying to speed run it. I completely missed the transmitter for a while which made things so much harder! It's a cool idea, I just found the controls a bit sensitive and the grabbing was a bit tricky. Some feedback for when you're in range of the cubes would be really useful.
@blacksheepza Thanks for the feedback, the game can be used for speedrunning, maybe in a V2 with better controls or something. I wanted to switch the cursor in the middle between white and black color to give the feedback about when you are in front of something that you can interact with but didn't got the chance to implement it :slight_frown: it's on my todo list for future projet though!
Could work more on post processing, and please lower the SFX volume a bit. The camera is clipping everywhere
@federico-giorgi duly noted for my next games will look into improving in those points
In a post jam I would tie together the cube and timer reset. Great game!
Much fun. Would have appreciated more feedback when picking up and dropping cubes, and when clicking the reset. Maybe also highlight the time bonus?
I like these sounds x) The map and the graphics style are pretty good. Sadly the camera does not work properly for me and it rotates randomly, which makes it unplayable. Edit: That glitch was only in fullscreen, so maybe it has something to do with the framerate. Anyway, I can play now. Cool game :)
@pinkemma Glad that you appreciate the game and thanks you for the feedback. I agreed that a sound when reseting would have been helping a lot.
@floppadev I need to check about this issue, thank you for playing
I had lots of fun exploring the map and discovering shortcuts. I will say that the scavenger hunt gets a bit repetitive. It might have helped to include more unique game mechanics (e.g. enemies, unlockable areas, special movement, etc.) The models are neat and they fit the spaceship aesthetic. Nice game!
@djtequila I must say, I've used an asset available at Kenney's website (look in the description) so I just placed the items around.
I'm glad you enjoyed the exploration and I agreed that it would have boosted the game if I implemented the game mechanics you listed above but the lack of time and knowledge didn't help. Most of what I did was first time
Well done, mate. However in my opinion that if you are putting time constraint on the player's head (and 30 seconds pretty hard constraint) you have to polish control to the max. I guess there was no time to polish this, right?
@erlioniel the goal was mainly to force the player to increase the timer by bringing more cubes in and allowing them to explore further.
I've see a lot of comments about the controls and I've already prepared some fixes for a post-jam version more stable, easier to play and more options about camera sensitivity and player controls.
It's kind of the first time I activly do player controls and I'll look to do something more polish and user friendly for future projects.
Keep it up, mate, it's a good result especially for the first time. Trust me, I do understand you, we didn't polish our game enough as well  It's never enough time in the jams :smirk:
the camera look to fast for me.. and sometimes it doesnt jump right... nice game!!
@morcado I tweeked the sensitivity already for the post-jam version in two weeks. And you can jump only when you are on the ground in order to prevent players to go outside the world
Thank you for playing
I like the idea of stealing someone else's cube to use on my spaceship. pretty fun game!
@bak ahah you know it's only cubes, nobody will see that there not there anymore :smirk:
The core gameplay is interesting and fun, but it gets repetitive after some time, it would be nice if on a post jam version the npcs got angry when steel their cubes and try to steel from you :D also a sound feedback for when you press the button to restart the count would be nice. But cool game, good job!
@edevjogos thank you for the feedback. I must say repetitiveness is one of my flaw, it's something that I have to work on. Instead of making them angry at you and chase you, I would something like a trade, item A for item B.
I've already added a sound for the time reset when you press the button, but I rather send the new version in post-jam, I don't want to mess up my entry ahah
I like the atmosphere! chilling with all my friends staring at a cube
I liked the part where I had to pick up the cubes. :)
Nice game. It was a unique idea and satisfying to pick up the cubes. I found an issue where I picked up a cube in my first time playing and placed it in the cube goal. I then lost because I didn't realise I could reset the time. Then after the game restarted that cube was not on its pedestal and so I could only 29/30 cubes :(
@jeff-kerman thanks for the feedback, did you click on "loop" by anychance? Because when you click on "loop" you keep your current score and cube gatthered. There is a secret cube, but I think it was a bad idea since it prevent players to finish the game if they don't observe enough.
And yeah, the "tutorial" part was not worked enough since a lot of people got issues with the time resetter.
Cool idea! Thanks for this game! But the controls kinda felt harsh. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be so. The jump sound is hilarious, did you record it yourself? It sounds very "homemade" :D I liked it a lot! good luck!
@quanperfect It was the first time I did a player controller so yeah it was very harsh and weird to move around. And yeah, I did the jump sound myself, glad that you enjoyed it!
